Wilson “Jack” Dunn
Wilson “Jack” Dunn, age 81, of Saint Jo, TX passed away at his residence in Saint Jo, TX.
Mr. Dunn was born December 22, 1921 in the Dye Mound area to Sula Pearl Cook and Milton Dunn. He married Edna Mae Wade August 16, 1951 in Gainesville, TX. He worked in the oil field most of his life, and after retiring from the oil field worked as a mechanic buying, repairing and selling used cars. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Saint Jo, TX.
Graveside services from Mr. Dunn were held Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo with C.E. Cole officiating. Interment was under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Edna Dunn, Saint Jo, TX; two daughters, Phyllis Cook, Saint Jo, TX, and Joanie Mae Pierce, Walnut Bend; one son, Danny Dunn, Saint Jo, TX; nine grandchildren; one grandchild; two sisters, Dee Cole, Saint Jo, TX, and Betty Martin, Alvord, TX; one brother, Melvin Dunn, Saint Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sula Pearl and Milton Dunn; three sisters, Bessie Martin, Jessie Williams and Elwanda Dunn; and four brothers, Cruse Dunn, Frank Dunn, Ray Maddox and Lynn Maddox.
Ruby Slade
Ruby Slade, age 89, of Bowie, TX passed away September 21, 2003 in the Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Slade was born December 24, 1913 in Lamar, Oklahoma. She married Troy Slade on December 24, 1931 in Waurika, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bowie.
Funeral service for Mrs. Slade were held Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Haney and Jerry McLendon officiating.
Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Lois Phillips and Gladys Deweber, both of Bowie, TX and Linda Gaul, Mineral Wells, TX; one son, Loyd Slade, Bowie, TX; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; three step great grandchildren; two brothers, Burnie Wright, Clyde, TX and Bill Wright, Wichita Falls, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Slade on March 5, 1996.
Pallbearers included: Joe Wadsworth, James McLendon, Jerry McLendon, Buz Mattix, Ronald Partridge and Floyd Rhyne.
Mary Ola (Williams) Young
Mary Ola (Williams) Young, age 97, of Saint Jo, TX passed away September 23, 2003 at North Central Medical Center in McKinney, TX.
Mrs. Young was born October 13, 1905 in Saint Jo, TX to Emma Rose and Tillman Williams. She married Curtis Leon Young on November 18, 1929 in Waurika, OK. She was a homemaker. She was a member, and a former treasurer of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Young were held Wednesday, September 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Saint Jo. Interment was held at Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Joe Young, Dallas, TX and Ray Young, Lone Oak, TX; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Leon Young; one daughter, Leota Marie Young; her parents, Emma and Tillman Williams; and two brothers, Brian and Conley “Concho” Williams.
Pallbearers included: C.H. “Pete” Dunn, Ancil Thurman, Jim Dunn, Charles Edwards, Wendell Thompson and Charles Steadham. Honorary pallbearers included J.C. Donnell, J.P. Embry, Weldon “Bo” Dunn, Lloyd Lough and Wesley McMahan.
Ruby L. Baker
Ruby L. Baker, age 62, of San Antonio, TX passed away September 22, 2003 in San Antonio, TX.
Mrs. Baker was born to Rosa Lee and Willis A. Bell. She married Marvin Earl Baker. She was a Real Estate Broker for many years in San Antonio,
Funeral services for Mrs. Baker were held Friday, September 26, 2003 at 11:30 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel with Willis Beil officiating.
Surviving relatives include: her children, Mike, Pat, Daniel, Keith, Kevin and Gary Baker, Callie White, Jeffrey Baker, Michelle Sanders; 20 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Bullard and Theda Fallin; one brother, Willis Beil; loving caregiver, Hilda Flores; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation.
Arlene D. Corley
Arlene D. Corley, age 73, of Emmory, TX passed away September 22, 2003 at the Hospice Home Place in Tyler, TX.
Mrs. Corley was born August 16, 1930 in Capps Corner, TX to Hatie Cook and Bryan Dennis in Capps Corner, TX. She married Johnny Corley in June, 1963. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Corley were held Wednesday, September 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Scott Morris Chapel with C.E. Cole officiating. Interment was held in Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Johnny Corley, Emmory, TX; one son, Rodney Osceola, AR; one grandson, Lynn Maples, Memphis, TN; two sisters, Claranell Breeze, Bridgeport, TX and Viola Busby, Saint Jo, TX; one brother, Richard Dennis, Dallas, TX, Syl Dennis, Bridgeport, TX, and Billy Dennis, Nocona, TX. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Davis and Grayben Dennis.
Pallbearers included: Gus Busby, Brutus Busby, Scott Thomas, Elvin Dennis, Lloyd Hutson and Lee Dennis.
E.J. “Jack” Kreyenbuhl
E.J. “Jack” Kreyenbuhl, age 74, of Bowie, TX, passed away August 4, 2003 at his residence in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Kreyenbuhl was born August 18, 1928 in Bowie, TX. He was a salesman in the oil field. He was a member of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge #1385 Ancient Free and Accpted Masons in Adessa, TX and a member of the El Paso Scottish Rite Bodies in El Paso, TX. He was born and grew up in Bowie and attended Bowie Public Schools and was very active in High School sports, especially football. He was a very proud member of the dirty half dozen of Bowie High School Class of 1945. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services for Mr. Kreyenbuhl were held Friday, August 8, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darius McKay and Rev. Bobby Deaver officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Stoneburg, TX. Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Bowie Masonic Lodge #578 AF & AM.
Surviving relatives include: three daughters, Kim Kreyenbuhl and Kami Ross, Grapevine, TX, and Kelly Smith, Amado, AZ; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Hale, Awasso, OK and Mickey Holloway, Lubbock, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included: Robert Hopper, Dave McClung, Rob Herring, Trey Ross, Kelton Smith and Colton Smith. Honorary pallbearers included: Dallas Hutson, Gordon Heard, Roy Curry, Buster Brickey, Sandy Brickey, Calvin Kiser, Dave Rogers, Jack Jessup, J.W. Cure, Forrest Favor and Deacon Wall.

Barry Zane Holt
Barry Zane Holt, age 67, of Nocona, TX, passed away August 15, 2003 at his residence in Nocona, TX.
Mr. Holt was born January 31, 1936 in Lott, TX to Patsy Esther Taylor and James Milton Holt. He married Patricia Tucker Holt. He was retired from the United States Postal Service after ten years and from the United States Air Force after twenty six years. He was a member of the NRA, and of the Nocona Hills Country Club. He and his wife were married for 50 years.
Graveside services for Mr. Holt were held Saturday, August 13, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Hamilton officiating. Interment was at Briar Creek Cemetery in Bowie, TX under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Patricia Tucker Holt, Nocona, TX; one daughter, Diane Campsey, Nocona, TX; one son, Randy M. Holt, Fort Worth, TX; one brother, Dean Holt, TX; and two grandchildren.
