Patrick Bryan McFarland
Patrick Bryan McFarland, age 25, of Bowie, TX passed away at his residence on July 8, 2003.
Mr. McFarland was born October 27, 1977 in Cortez, Colorado to Clyde and Vickie McFarland. He was a 1996 graduate of Bowie High School and previously attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and North Central Texas College where he earned his Associate of Applied Science Degree. He was currently a student at Midwestern University where he was working towards a Masters Degree in History. He had been a resident of Bowie for twelve years, moving here from Casper, Wyoming. Mr. McFarland was a member of Carter Lake Baptist Church and the Winner’s Sunday School Class.
Funeral services for Mr. McFarland were held Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carter Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Lamoin Champ officiating. Interment was at the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his parents, Clyde and Vickie McFarland of Bowie, TX; one sister, Heather Torres of Carrollton, TX; two grandmothers, Billie McFarland of Fitch, TX and Pauline McMinn of Bowie, TX and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, V. E. McFarland and Lloyd McMinn.
Pallbearers included: Dr. James Dunn, Dan Dunn, Diran Lancaster, Jarrett Reaves, Jim Davis and Dickie Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers included: Glenn Neff, Carvel St. John, Bill Parker, J.F. Boyett and David Williamson.
Contributions may be made to the Bowie Baptist Mission, 112 West Wise St., Bowie, TX 76230.

Bobby Gerald Fagan
Bobby Gerald Fagan, age 61, of Bowie, TX passed away October 21, 2003 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Fagan was born February 8, 1942 in Purcell, OK to Willie Ann Palmertree and Arthur Lee Fagan. He married “Kathy” Betty Kathleen (Taylor) Fagan. He was a carpenter and a truck driver. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Funeral services for Mr. Fagan were held Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in Bowie with Bro. Eddy Pate officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, “Kathy” Betty Kathleen (Taylor) Fagan; one daughter, Connie Lee Fagan, MN; two sons, John Wesley Fagan, OK and Mark Andrew Fagan, TX; six sisters, Ruth Miller, IN, Terrie Adams, TX, Ima Jean (Tiny) Owan, TX, JoAnn O’Neal, OK, Wanda Witson, OK and Katherine Hall, IN; two brothers, Arthur Fagan, CO, and Loyd Perdue, OK; seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers included: John and Mark Fagan, Chris and Matt Fletcher, Charles Elmore and Floyd Taylor.

Pat McLendon
Pat McLendon, age 55, of Bowie, TX passed away October 28, 2003 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Miss. McLendon was born December 24, 1947 in Bowie, TX to John McLendon and Daisy McLendon. She was a lifetime resident of Bowie, TX and was a machine operator. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bowie. She had worked for L.D. Eakman, attorney , in Bowie for eight years and then worked for Haggar Slack Factory for fourteen years until the factory closed.
Funeral services for Miss McLendon were held Friday, October 31, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bowie with Rev. Ron Abbott officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her mother, Daisy McLendon, Bowie, TX; four sisters, Shirley Wilkins, Bettendorf, IA, Glenna Cox, Krum TX, Linda McLendon, Bowie, TX and Debi McLendon North Richland Hills, TX; four brothers, Bob McLendon, Bill McLendon, James McLendon, and Jerry McLendon, all of Bowie, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers included: Terry McLendon, Jack McLendon, Jr. Billy McLendon, Ethan Cox, Jeremy McLendon and Duane McLendon. Honorary pallbearers included: Rick McLendon, Kevin Willson, Mike Ledford, Larry Read, Randy Hardee and Steven Monkres.

Ozella Mae Hall Griffis
Ozella Mae Hall Griffis, age 86, of Bowie, TX passed away October 27, 2003 at the Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Griffis was born September 15, 1917 in Slidell, TX. She married Juniper Griffis on October 1, 1949 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was a homemaker and always willing to help those in need. She was always giving toys and angel dolls to those who needed them. She quilted lap robes for the elderly residents of nursing homes. She worked as a waitress and hostess and served many meals to the Bowie community and to service clubs in Bowie. She worked as an agriculture surveyor for the government. She was a charter member and founder of the VFW Post #8789 Ladies Auxiliary.
No funeral service was held for Mrs. Griffis.
Surviving relatives include: her constant companion, Valley Marie; one son, Clifford Lee McCraw, Lake Forest, CA; two daughters, Mildred Fay McCraw, Bowie, TX and Jane Heckman Allen, Pal Springs, CA; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Christine Hall Green, Haskell, TX and one brother, Manuel Hall, Haleuva, HA.

Katherine Louise Williford
Katherine Louise Williford, age 86, of Nocona, TX passed away October 27, 2003 in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Williford was born January 22, 1917 in Electra, TX to Rosa Lee McHugh and James Ellatt Grimsley. She married Elijah Shirley Williford October 23, 1935 in Waurika, OK. She was a member of the Church of Christ and had worked at the dry cleaners.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williford were held Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Dale Scott officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter in law, Janice Williford, Pottsboro, TX; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Shirley Williford; her son, Richard Williford; one daughter, Shirley Kay Gibbs; two grandsons, and one great grandson.
Pallbearers included: Jack Cunningham, Glen Long, Dusty Rhodes and Harold Marmaduke.

Mable Iona Childress Hanson
Mable Iona Childress Hanson, age 87 of Saint Jo, TX passed away October 27, 2003 in the Nocona General Hospital in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Hanson was born May 17, 1916 in Montague County, TX to Nell Rankin Childress and Lorenza Dow Childress. She married Cleland Howard (Tiny) Hanson on April 9, 1942 in Ardmore, OK. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 30, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel in Saint Jo, TX. Services were directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, David Hanson, Westchester, NY and Joe Hanson, Saint Jo, TX; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Lucky, FL; and one brother, Milton Childress, Wichita Falls, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nell and Lorenza Childress; one brother, Maurice Childress and one daughter in law, Barbara Hanson.

Terry Rosendahl
Terry Rosendahl, age 46 of Bowie, TX passed away October 20, 2003 off the coast of Alaska in the Bering Sea.
Mr. Rosendahl was born February 27, 1957 in Astoria, OR and lived there until 1995 when he moved to Bowie, TX. He was a commercial fisherman and had been involved in the crab industry since he graduated high school.
Funeral services for Mr. Rosendahl were held Monday, October 27, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Carter Lake Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Bro. Kevin Johnson officiating. Interment was held at the Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his parents, Leroy and Shirley McFerrin, Bowie, TX; four brothers, Bobby Rosendahl, Bowie, TX; Earl Wayne McFerrin, Jimmy McFerrin and Bobby Charles McFerrin, all of Abilene, TX; five sisters, Lauri Rosendahl, Bowie, TX; Tammie Nickell, Cheri Seaborn, and Melisa McFerrin, all of Abilene, TX; and Penny McFerrin, Wichita Falls, TX; six aunts, Christine Strange and Joy Rita Clayton, both from Bowie, TX, Verna Lee Pickren, Wichita Falls, TX; Leta Mae Shurbet, Iowa Park, TX, Sandra Heller, Sammamish, WA, and Linda Schooler, Soap Lake, WA., numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Trout in 1962; and two brothers, Chris Trout in 1998 and Don Trout in 2000.
Pallbearers included: Bobby Rosendahl, Wendell Phillips, Steve Shurbet, James McCarty, Toby Lippencott and Scott Jordan. Honorary pallbearers included: Joe Russ, Earl McFerrin, Jimmy McFerrin, Bobby McFerrin, Charlie Boyett, Abbas Agghar and Don Madsey.

Walter Lee Morris
Walter Lee Morris, age 83, of Newport, TX passed away October 25, 2003 in the Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Morris was born April 30, 1920 in Newport, TX to Walter and Dellie Morris. He married Joyce Rhodes July 17, 1956 in Bowie, TX. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Bowie. He was an oilfield pumper. He was a life member of the Reddy-McClellan VFW Post #8789 in Bowie, TX. In July, 1941, he was No. 39 in the Selective Draft Lottery. With Secretary Frank Knox taking out the first number and with speeches by notables including the man in charge, Captain Hershey, number 39 was drawn in the first 25 numbers. So, the honor man of the of the July 1st, 1941 registration was none other than Walter Lee Morris of Newport, Clay County, TX. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in Northern France. He was awarded the American Defense Medal, the American Theater Campaign Medal, the EAME Campaign Medal with one bronze star, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
Funeral services for Mr. Morris were held Monday, October 27, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Jones and Rev. Don Haney officiating. Interment was held at the Newport Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Joyce Morris, Newport, TX; two sons, Royce Morris, Sunset, TX, and Dale “Rusty” Morris, Slidell, TX; two daughters, Carol Whisenhunt, Big Cedar, OK, Tyan Niemi, Sherman, TX and Karen Hicks, Bowie, TX; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister Frankie Shipp, Nixa, MS and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dellie Morris, two brothers, D.T. Morris and Clisto Morris and one sister, Inez Broom.
Pallbearers included: Cody Putman, David Morris, Trace Morris, Shawn Sheller, Skye Morris, Joshua Hicks.
