Dr. Donald M. Fraser
Dr. Donald M. Fraser, age 77, of Bowie, TX passed away December 9, 2003 in the Bowie Memorial Hospital in Bowie, TX.
Dr. Fraser was born August 18, 1926 in Toronto, CA. He married Sybil Faye Brawner on September 8, 1951 in Dallas, TX. He was the founder of Bearing Precious Seed Scripture Ministry and was a Missionary for over 40 years. He developed curriculum “Commandment Doctrine” being taught around the world in Bible Colleges. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, TX. He served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services for Dr. Fraser were held Monday, December 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Rev. James McWhorter, Rev. Max Shaw and Rev. Jerry Pitman officiating. Interment was at Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Connie R. Shaw, Albany, IN and Bonnie F. Nelson, Bowie, TX; two grandsons, Ezra M. and Seth E. Shaw, both of Albany, IN; one granddaughter, Abigail E. F. Shaw, Albany, IN; sister in law, Bootz Rushing, Ft Worth, TX; one niece, Pamela Rushing, Ft. Worth, TX; one nephew, Jody Rushing, Ft. Worth, TX and one cousin, Bob Stephens, British Columbia, CA.
Pallbearers included: David Nelson, Seth Shaw, Elmer Nelson, Caleb Pittman, Ezra Shaw and Jody Rushing.

Hazel Moore
Hazel Moore, age 79, of Decatur, TX passed away December 14, 2003 in Decatur, TX.
Mrs. Moore was born November 30 1924 in Decatur, TX, She married Herman E. Moore on December 23, 1944. She was a resident of Bowie, TX for 54 years before moving to Decatur 13 years ago. She was a member of the Carter Lake Road Church of Christ in Bowie.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darius McKay officiating. Interment was at the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one brother, Billy Bob Johnson, Hurst, TX; one sister, Sue Greer, Bowie, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Moore in 1986.
Pallbearers included: Sam Greer, Bob Polasek, Jacob Jordon, Henry Salter, Lee Armentrout and Charles Blanton.
Rafael Diaz
Rafael Diaz, age 23, of Nocona, TX passed away December 13, 2003 in the Nocona hospital in Nocona, TX.
Mr. Diaz was born June 18, 1980 in Mexico to Nicolasa Ibarra and Ascension Diaz. He was a contract tree trimmer and a member of the Saint William’s Catholic Church in Montague, TX.
Funeral services for Mr. Diaz were held Monday, December 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nocona, TX with Father Steve Berg officiating. Interment was in Mexico under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his parents, Ascension and Nicolasa Diaz, Nocona, TX; grandparents, Bonfifacio Ibarra and Rafaela Hernandez, Mexico; one sister, Ceferina Ibarra, Nocona, Tx; and six brothers, Santos, Gabriel, Heradio, Jose P. Samuel and Miguel Diaz.

Jerry N. Miller
Jerry N. Miller, age 58, of Arlington, TX passed away November 29, 2003.
Mr. Miller was born March 29, 1945 in Alamosa, CO to Noal F. and Marie C. Miller. He married Betty Nell McKenny in 1974. He was a 1962 graduate of Nocona High School. He was a member of the Aldergate Methodist Church and served on the Outreach Committee. He was a FFA Lonestar Farmer.
Funeral services for Mr. Miller were held Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the Aldergate United Methodist Church. Interment was at Johnson Station Cemetery in Arlington under the direction of Arlington Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Betty Nell McKenny, Arlington, TX; three children, Coleen Randolph, Oak Cliff, TX; Cindy and Brian Miller, both of Arlington, TX; three grandchildren, one brother, Jim Miller, Dallas/Nocona, TX; one sister, Jean Popham, Mart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen Patton
Mary Ellen Patton, age 89, of Nocona, TX passed away December 1, 2003.
Mrs. Patton was born April 26, 1914 in Nocona, TX to Emma Elizabeth Sloss and Lucian Elbert Tubbs. She married Charles Patton. She worked at Consolated Air Craft Company during WWII, and then worked for Sears Roebuck. She was a member of the Barbed Wire Collectors and Montague Genealogical Society. She spent many hours volunteering at the Horizon Manor Nursing Home and was very active in the Starkey Cemetery Association.
Funeral services for Mrs. Patton were held Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Barbee officiating. Interment was at Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Clint Tubbs: three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Charles Patton in 1995.
Helen K. Harris
Helen K. Harris, age 81, of Ft. Worth, TX passed away November 26, 2003.
Mrs. Harris was born July 26, 1922 in McCleansboro, IL. She was longtime resident of Fruitland, TX before moving to Ft. Worth, TX several years ago.She was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ in Sunset, TX and a member of the Order of Eastern Star #16 Bowie Chapter and of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services for Mrs Harris were held Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 2:00 with Loyd K. Morris officiating. Interment was at Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Linda Fowler, Hurst, TX, and Judyth Rainey, Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Bryant, Baton Rouge, LA, and Maurine Sans, Murphysboro, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Harris in 1992; four brothers, Robert, Gene, Dwane and Morris Coffey; and two sisters, Lucille Camp and Maxine Coffey.
Willard C. Shelton
Willard C. Shelton, age 90, of Crafton, TX passed away November 27, 2003 in Crafton, TX.
Mr. Shelton was born May 23, 1913 in Seldon, TX. He married Essie Chambers on December 13, 1969. He was a carpenter and a member of the Crafton Baptist Church where he was an ordained Deacon, lay preacher and Sunday School teacher.
Funeral services for Mr. Shelton were held Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at the Crafton Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Merritt and Rev. Terry D. Horton officiating. Committal service was held Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 3:30 at Pilot Knob Cemetery near Stephenville, TX under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Essie R. Shelton, Crafton, TX; two sons, Troy Roberts, Onalaska, TX and W.C. Shelton, Ft Worth, TX; three daughters, Patricia Weaver, Crafton, TX, Linda Land and Gina Gaither both of Stephenville, TX; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; three sisters, Lella Houston, Stephenville, TX, Annie Mae Griffen, New Braunfels, TX and Loda McCoy, Ft Worth, TX.
Pallbearers included: Jerry Selph, Kevin Lemond, Ed Leavenworth, Bob Brown, Terry Hand and Doug Bowyer. Honorary pallbearers include: The Deacons of Crafton Baptist Church.
Ava Nell Dyer
Ava Nell Dyer, age 88, of Bowie, TX passed away November 29, 2003 in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Dyer was born June 18, 1915 in Sheffield, AL. She married Clyde “Poss” Dyer on October 12, 1932 in Waurika, OK. She was a resident of Sunset, TX for 62 years before moving to Bowie four years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sunset Church of Christ. She worked as a clerk at Jackson Department Store for several years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dyer were held Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Loyd K. Morris officiating. Interment was at Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Laucita, Swinson, Auburn, AL and Deana Cantrell Jr., Missouri, TX; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
