Olga Justine Denham, age 77, of Nocona, TX passed away December 2, 2003 at the Horizon ManorNursing Home in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Denham was born July 29, 1926 in North East Nocona, TX to Ina Hodges and Floyd H. Begley. She married Weslon Denham on July 26, 1952. She was Prairie Valley School Valedictorian in 1944. She worked as a Dietitian for Rice Institute in Houston, TX. She received her Associates degree in education and taught at Sharp Ave. School for fourteen years. She received many awards for her Volunteer work.
A memorial service for Mrs. Denham will be held at a later date.
Surviving relatives include: her aunt, Marie Hodges Hunter, Fort Worth, TX; one niece, Cheryl Locke, Nocona, TX; a cousin, Glen Hawkins, and one sister, Connie Jo Gilleland, Nocona, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Weslon Denham; and a brother, Floyd H. Begley “Red”
Earle David Otto
Earle David Otto, age 77, of Muenster, TX passed away December 4, 2003.
Mr. Otto was born January 4, 1926 to Clara Martin and Anthony Otto. He married Jewel Marie Hoffman on November 9, 1948 in Sacred Heart Church in Muenster, TX. He was owner/operator of the Otto Dozer Service for fifty years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services for Mr. Otto were held Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the Sacred Heart Church in Muenster, TX with Rev. John Ohner, O.S.A. and Rev. Don Brennan, O.S.A officiating. Interment was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Jewel Otto, Muenster, TX; one daughter, Elaine Bruns, Dallas, TX; two grandchildren; two sisters, Aileen Hoenig and Hazel Flushe, both of Muenster, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Clara Otto, four brothers, Sid, John, Ray and Tom Otto.
Pallbearers included: Tom Flushe, Alvin Hoenig, Gregg Otto, Marco Cerilli, Doug Otto, Jim Bussey, Wayne Hoffman and Ed Otto.
Gladys Gee
Gladys Gee, age 84, of Bowie, TX passed away December 5, 2003 in the Bowie Memorial Hospital in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Gee was born September 18, 1919 in Paris, TX to Minnie and Oscar Werley. She married Lloyd Gee and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services for Mrs. Gee were held Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Mendenhall officiating. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: six cousins, Emmer Morrison, Amarillo, TX, Leona Nelson, Amarillo, TX, Essie Shirley, Marlos, OK, Robert Barker, Duncan, OK, J.L. Fry, Sayre, OK, and Lillie Barker, Bowie, TX; and several other cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Gee; and her parents, Minnie and Oscar Werley.
LaCarroll Parr
LaCarroll Parr, age 74, of Ringgold, TX passed away December 5, 2003 at Bellmire Nursing Home in Bowie, TX.
Ms. Parr was born October 26, 1929 in Grand Prairie, TX to Gladys Lea Mitchell and Eugene Thomas Parr. She grew up and attended school in Dayton, TX. She retired for working at Gibson’s in Bowie and was also a beautician for twenty-five years.
Funeral services for Ms. Parr were held Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Scott-Morris Chapel. Interment was at Ringgold Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one brother Harold Parr, Nocona, TX.
Minnie Bell (Wallace) Barker
Minnie Bell (Wallace) Barker, age 89, of Saint Jo, TX passed away December 7, 2003 at Horizon Manor Nursing Home in Nocona, TX.
Mrs. Barker was born November 30, 1914 in Direct, TX to Maggie Briscoe Wallace and Charles Wallace. She married Howard Terrell Barker December 20, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX. She lived in Saint Jo, TX for thirty years and was a nurse at the Clinic Hospital in Wichita Falls, TX for twenty-five years. She also worked as a private nurse. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
Graveside services for Mrs. Barker were held Monday, December 8, 2003 at the Burkburnett Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Betty Lofland, Saint Jo, TX; two grandchildren, Sharon Gaston, Saint Jo, TX and Roice Lofland, New Orleans, LA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Barker, three sisters, Margaret Wiist, Tommie Goodall and Betty Smith; two brothers, Jim Wallace and Syd Wallace.

Johnny David )Whop) Hair, age 72, of Saint Jo, TX passed away December 4, 2003 at the Muenster Memorial Hospital in Muenster, TX.
Mr. Hair was born February 18, 1931 in Cooke County, TX to Edna Mae King Whitson and William Lowell Hair. He married Ruby Usa Tucker on September 28, 1949 in Saint Jo, TX. He lived most of his life in Saint Jo, TX.
Graveside services for Mr. Hair were held Sunday, December 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain Creek Cemetery in Montague County, TX with C.E. Cole officiating. Interment was under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Uza Hair, Saint Jo, TX; one daughter, Laura Hair Martin, Myra, TX; three sons, Danny Hair, Vancouver, WA, David Hair, Saint Jo, TX and Kevin Hair, Denton, TX; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four sisters, Juanita Bumgardner, Arlington, TX and Sarah Mueller, Aleta Wolfenbarger and Sandy Brewer, all of Saint Jo, TX; and one brother, Bruce Hair, Wichita Falls, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hair and Edna Whitson; three sisters, Minnie Talley, Francis Maxwell and Florence Ball; three brothers, Edward, Robert “Si” and William Lowell “Dude” Hair.

Ricky Don Bowers, age 41 of Bowie, TX passed away December 3, 2003 in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Bowers was born October 10, 1962 in Bowie, TX to Sandra Green and Arley Bowers, Sr. He was a resident of Bowie for thirty years and a roofer.
Graveside services for Mr. Bowers were held Monday, December 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. L.C. Smith officiating. Interment was at Bellevue Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his mother, Sandra and her husband, Kenneth Green, Henrietta, TX; two sisters, Berniece Crawford, Carrolton, TX and Annetta Fortune, Ringgold, TX; two brothers, Arley Bowers, Jr. Stockton, CA and Robert Bowers, Henrietta, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Will and Jane Weaver, Gainesville, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Arley Bowers, Sr. in 1988, one sister, Sue Fugate in 2003; his grandfather, Robert Allen in 1989; his grandmother, Dorothy Allen in 1980 and his great grandmother, Ruth Gifford in 1979.

Linda Gertrude Wasson Rhodes
Linda Gertrude Wasson Rhodes, age 90, of Bowie, TX passed away December 6, 2003 in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Rhodes was born January 16, 1913 in Cherokee County, AL to Jesse A. and Linda Canant Sterling. She married Jake “J.B.” Wasson on December 13, 1931. Following the death of her first husband in 1967, she married Roy Rhodes on April 6, 1973. She was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Holt Magee in Abilene for many years and was a longtime resident of Abilene before moving to Bowie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bowie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rhodes were held Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Potosi Baptist Church in Potosi, TX, near Abilene with Dr. Ted Spears officiating. Interment was under the direction of White Family Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Bryan Wasson, Bowie, TX; one step daughter, Rheta Autry, Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, Roy Sterling, Benbrook, TX and Mack Sterling, Rancho Biejo, TX; and one sister, Betty Reeves, Farmers Branch, TX. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, J.B. Wasson and Roy Rhodes; three sisters, Sybil Bonine, Annie Pearl Schoolcraft and Doris Williamson; and one brother, Robert Sterling.

James G. “Jim” Wade
James G. “Jim” Wade, age 82, of Sunset, TX passed away December 16, 2003 at the Bowie Memorial Hospital in Bowie, TX.
Mr. Wade was born April 3, 1921 in Dayton, TN. He married Katie Lou Thomas on November 19, 1943 in Durham, NC. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the First Army Division 126th Ordinance Corps. He landed on the third day after D-Day and followed his unit all the way to Berlin, Germany. He worked at the Fort Worth Stock Yards in Fort Worth for twenty-two years as a checker. He was a farmer and lived in Sunset for fifty-seven years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sunset.
Funeral services for Mr. Wade were held Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Wilson officiating. Interment was at the Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Katie Lou Wade, Sunset, TX; two daughters, Kaye Elmore, Aransas Pass, TX and Kathy Wilkins, Decatur, TX; one son, Ike Wade, Dublin, TX; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Wade, Alvord, TX; two sisters, Dorotha Knight, Wichita Falls, TX and Peggy Heugatter, Sunset, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included: Jim Campbell, Claude Cain, Jerry Dunaway, Don Wade, Allan Heugatter and Michael Heugatter.
