Evelyn Philpott
Evelyn Philpott, age 92 of Lawrenceburg, KY passed away December 12, 2003 in Lawrenceburg, KY.
Mrs. Philpott was born September 17, 1911 in Dewey, OK. She married John Philpott on September 20, 1928. She was a resident of Bowie for thirty-two years before moving to Lawrenceburg, KY four years ago. She was a member of the Sand Springs Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, KY. She is a former member of First Baptist Church in Bowie and taught Sunday school class.
Funeral services for Mrs. Philpott were held Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darius McKay officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Robert L. Philpott, Lakewood, CA; one daughter, Iva Mae Warren, Lawrenceburg, KY; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters, Hazel Morefield, Norman, OK and Betty Goddard, Pampa, TX; one brother, Donald Purcell, New Orleans, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Philpott in 1975; and one son, Harold Dean Philpott on July 3, 1967.
Pallbearers included: Charlie Valdez, Richard Warren, Robert Philpott, Lee Taylor, Jeff Redin and Cody Redin.

Ella Mae Fanning McMahan
Ella Mae Fanning McMahan, age 90, of Saint Jo, TX passed away December 19, 2003 at her residence in Saint Jo, TX.
Mrs. McMahan was born October 23, 1913 in the Dye Mound Community to Maggie Moore and Elbert B. Fanning. She married Eli Aubrey McMahan on April 8, 1931 in Marietta, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the Saint Jo Church of Christ.
Funeral services for Mrs. McMahan were held Sunday, December 21, 2003 at the Saint Jo Church of Christ in Saint Jo, TX. with Chester Cullum and C.E. Cole officiating. Interment was at the Dye Mound Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Aubrey “Orb” McMahan, Saint Jo, TX; two daughters, Velma Woods, Saint Jo, TX and Audra Walker, Wichita Falls, TX. one son, Dean McMahan, Lewisville, TX; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Maggie Fanning; two sisters, Dorris Jackson and Velma Fanning; one brother, Earl Fanning and one grandson, Chris Clayton.
Pallbearers included: Benny Charles Sauer, Mark Sauer, Benny Frank Clayton, Billy Ray McMahan, Kelly Clayton, Danny Woods and Micael Dean McMahan.

Richard Lee Wallace
Richard Lee Wallace, age 44, of Trenton, TX passed away December 21, 2003 in Trenton, TX.
Mr. Wallace was born January 14, 1959 in Dallas, TX to Audry Darelene Blevins and Arley “Buck” Wallace Sr. He was a mechanic and had also worked in the Oil Field.
Funeral services for Mr. Wallace were held Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Scott-Morris Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hendrix officiating.
Surviving relatives include: his mother and step father, Audry and Oids Green, Nocona, TX; his father and step mother, Arley “Buck” and Judy Wallace, Nocona, TX; a step son, Brandon Monsear, Trenton, TX; two sisters, Kathy Wilson, Haltom City, TX and Leslie Parker, Nocona, TX; and three brothers, Arley Wallace, Jr, Luke Wallace and Chris Wallace, all of Nocona, TX.

Darlene Sybil Stewart
Darlene Sybil Stewart, age 69, of Nocona, TX passed away December 19, 2003 at the North Central Medical Center in McKinney, TX.
Mrs. Stewart was born October 15, 1934 in Belcherville, TX to Zella Richie and Sam Hewitt. She had worked for the Nocona Boot Company, Haggar, Action Line and for Home Health.
Cemetery services were held for Mrs. Stewart Sunday, December 21, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Carey Stewart, Nocona, TX and Delton Stewart, Denton, TX; and one sister, Jean Hudson, Bowie, TX.

James C. (Jamie) Bowles
James C. (Jamie) Bowles age 51 of Nocona, TX passed away December 21, 2003 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mr. Bowles was born March 17, 1952 to Barbara Musick and Rowland Kirk Bowles in Saint Jo, TX. He married Georganne Bowles May 12, 1972 in Nocona, TX. He was a ranch manager and member of the Cowboy Church in Henrietta, TX.
Funeral services for Mr. Bowles were held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cowboy Church in Henrietta, TX with Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery under the directions of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Georganne Bowles, Nocona, TX; one son, James Kirk Bowles and wife, Melissa Bowles; two grandchildren, James Tyler Bowles and Lauren Delaney Bowles; one brother, Randy Neal Bowles, Nocona, TX; one niece; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jeanene.
Pallbearers included: Wes Morton, Lew Lobban, Chris Lobban, Tommy Lobban, Tom Stewart, and Jay Yoager. Honorary pallbearers include: The Men of Cowboy Church.
Memorials may be made to the Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 181, Henrietta, TX, 76365.

Bernice Beatrice Pennington
Bernice Beatrice Pennington,81,of Nocona, TX passed away on June 8, 2000 in Bowie Memorial Hospital
Mrs. Pennington was born on August 3, 1918 in McCloud, Oklahoma. She married James Frank Pennington on February 2, 1935 in Ft. Townsend, OK who preceded her in death on December 12, 1978. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 10, 2000 in Jerry Woods Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Rod Messer officiated services with interment being in Nocona Cemetery. Her grandsons were pallbearers.
Surviving relatives include her two sons, James Junior Pennington, Big Spring, TX and Billy Ray Pennington, Nocona, TX; two daughters, Lottie Beth Goff, Muskogee, OK and Patsy Ann Basaldua, Nocona, TX; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and four great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Jackie Franklin Pennington, Kenneth Wayne Pennington and Charles Columbus Pennington.

Idus Gregg
Idus Gregg, 91, of Bridgeport, TX passed away on June 7, 2000 in the Decatur Community Hospital.
Idus Gregg was born on December 5, 1908 in Wise County, TX in Willow Point Community. Idus had resided in the Bridgeport community since 1950. She was a homemaker and a member of The Twin Oaks Assembly of God.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 9, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the Twin Oaks Assembly of God, Bridgeport, TX with Bro. Gary Sessions officiating under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home. Interment was in the Willow Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Gregg, Jody Gregg, Randy Dunn, Reggie McWilliams, Gregg McWilliams and Paul McWilliams. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Billington, Mark & David Helton, Kenneth Ray Dunn and Donny Bush.
Surviving relatives include her son, Jean Gregg and his wife Barbara; three daughters, Billie Billington and husband Wayne, Mary Shellnut and husband Bill, and Lena McWilliams; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 1991; one grandson, Don Billington; one granddaughter, Darlene Dunn; one brother, two sisters; and two son-in-laws, Kenneth Dunn & Mickey McWilliams.

George Herbert Shepard
George Herbert Shepard, 86, of Poolville, Texas passed away on June 7, 2000 in his residence.
Mr. Shepard was born on July 5, 1913 in Speedville, TN. He married the late Bertha Fay Gabriel Shepard in 1941 in Palo Pinto. He was a truck driver and a member of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services were held on Friday June 9, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Boonsville Cemetery, Boonsville, TX. Minister Warren Crothers officiated the service under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include four sons, David Shepard, Chico, Texas, Edward Shepard, Boonsville, Texas, George Shepard, Mineral Wells, Texas, and Richard Shepard, Canton, Texas; two daughters, Mary Erdhal, Spirit Lake Idaho and Gladys Hill, Mangum, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
