E.O. Barham, 84, of Blooming Grove, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2003, in his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel in Corsicana with Jackie Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Calhoun, Todd McGraw, Tracy Barham, Scott Barham, Kasey McGraw, Andy Calhoun and Collin Barham.
Mr. Barham was born on December 7, 1919, in Blooming Grove.
Survivors include wife Margie Barham of Blooming Grove; son Dr. Bobby and wife Carol Barham of Corsicana; daughter Pat and husband Billy Wayne McGraw of Blooming Grove; brother Leslie and wife Melba Barham of Avalon; sister Francis and husband Truitt Brown of Wautoga; grandchildren Gina and Kyle Calhoun, Todd and Liz McGraw, Tracy and Amy Barham all of Blooming Grove, Dr. Scott and Kerri Barham of Corsicana, Kasey and Wendy McGraw of Blooming Grove; great-grandchildren Andy and Anna Calhoun, Katie and Lainie McGraw, Tressa, Chelsey and Collin Barham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

H. Odette Champlin Shortnacy
H. Odette Champlin Shortnacy, 58, died in Corsicana Tuesday, June 10, 2003. She was a resident of Corsicana for the past 2 1/2 years and formerly of Arlington for 35 years. She was born Jan. 22, 1945, in Biloxi, Miss., to Ernest Odell Champlin and Hazel Ward. She was retired from Philip Specialty in Grand Prairie.
Services for Mrs. Shortnacy will be at 1 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Rufus Nutt officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ashford, Juan Cordona, Kevin Taroy, Rob Casteel, Mike Allen and Larry Stubblefield.
Mrs. Shortnacy is survived by her husband David Shortnacy of Corsicana; son, Kenneth Rinehart of Little Elm; stepsons, David Shortnacy Jr. of Kerens and Kevin Shortnacy of Fort Worth; daughter, Helen Erickson of Humble; stepdaughters, Kay Lane of Granbury and Shari Blair of Haltom City; mother, Hazel Ward Champlin of Glen Heights; brothers, Tony Champlin of Lafayette, La., Ernest Champlin and Hulon Champlin, both of Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Wanda Woesthaus of Longlane, Mo., and Debbie Flores of Irving; grandchildren, Joseph Braun, Jennifer Erickson, Kyle Rinehart, Dillon Rinehart, Misty, Crystal, Trenton, Dustin, William, Caleb, Candice, Heather, Haley and Myah; and one great-grandchild, Russel.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David Champlin.

Glenn L. Holt
Glenn L. Holt, 82, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003, in Corsicana.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Mr. Holt was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Mason City, Iowa, to Noah C. and Esther Brouwer Holt, both who preceded him in death.
He moved his family to Corsicana in 1974 with the company his was employed with at that time, Thunander & Sons. He later worked at Oil City Iron Works until retirement. He then provided maintenance services to various members of the community. He served with the U.S. Army Company A, 25th Tank Battalion, 14th Armored Division in France and Germany. He was commanding non-commissioned officer of the tank, and saw that it was ready for duty at all times. He was also a light machine gunner and driver of the tank. He was authorized to wear one hash mark, one overseas stripe, ETO ribbon with two battle stars, World War II victory medal, American Theater ribbon and Purple Heart.
He is survived by his current wife, Beth Ann Holt. Also surviving are his two children from his previous marriage, David Glenn Holt of Las Colinas and Linda Kathryn Holt of Kemp; niece, Beverly Fisher Moore of Thorton, Iowa, husband Larry Moore and three children, Travis K. Fisher, Chance Moore and Lauren Moore; and a nephew, Curtis A. Holt of Thorton, Iowa, and his two children, Jessica Holt and Jeremiah D. Holt.
Glenn was preceded in death by brother, Dale Holt; his parents; and by the mother of his two children, Mary Kathryn Reid Holt.

Ida Ray Stevens
Ida Ray Stevens, 69, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2003.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Pleasant Grove Academy, 625 Elkhart, Dallas. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial in Dallas.
Mrs. Stevens was born May 11, 1934, in Vernon. She received her formal education in Corsicana. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Academy Church of God in Christ serving as president of ushers, church mother and prayer band president.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel C. Stevens Sr. of Texarkana; sons, Edsel R. Bryant (Mary) of Arlington, Donnie Bloomer (Kim) of El Paso, Samuel C. Stevens Jr. and William E. Stevens, both of Dallas; daughter, Gwendolyn B. Stevens of Dallas; sisters, Katie Simmons of Temple, Okla., Ruby Dixon (Leodis) of Albuquerque, N.M., Maggie Hunter and Ethel Baptist (Elijah), all of Corsicana, and Inna McGilvery of Dallas; brothers, C.D. Bloomer (Emma) of Killeen and John Bloomer Jr. (Dorothy) of Mansfield; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Dr. Raymond Wendell Cook
A memorial service honoring the life of Dr. Raymond Wendell Cook will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2308 Bowie Drive, Corsicana. Services for Archie Don Lynch, 77, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Capps Memorial Chapel with Rev. Buddy Turner and Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating. Rev. James T. Davis
The Rev. James T. Davis, 79, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Otis Dunagan officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Point Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sonny May, Ray Reagan, Elvis Anderson, Frank Hignett, Ricky Brown, Bill Lewis, Freddy Nutt and Shorty Tate.
The Rev. James T. Davis was born July 26, 1924, in the Rice community. He moved to Corsicana on his return from a two-year term in the U.S. Navy. He married Juanita Ray on April 12, 1947, and to this union four children were born. He was the pastor of 11th Avenue Baptist Church for 46 years, and worked for the City of Corsicana and Navarro County.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Juanita Davis of Corsicana; daughter, Norma McCarter of Corsicana; son, Larry Davis of Corsicana; sister, Betty Lewis of Gun Barrel City; brothers, Gene of Dallas and E.A. of Arlington; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marguerite Aline Wetsel
Marguerite Aline Wetsel, 86, of Hubbard and formerly of Corsicana, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at Oak View Manor.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating.
Mrs. Wetsel was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Roganville to Hiram Payne Jr. and Frances Wingate Payne. She lived in Luling from the age of 5 until she married James Robert "Bob" Wetsel on Nov. 12, 1942. Marguerite was an operator for Southwestern Bell until the time of her marriage. The family was transferred to Martinsville, Ill., in 1954, where they enjoyed many happy years. Marguerite was a Cub Scout den mother and was active in the Magnolia Wives Club. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and bird watching. Bob and Marguerite relocated to Corsicana in 1967. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Wetsel in April 2000.
Survivors include her son, Robert Wetsel of Hubbard; grandsons, James Wetsel of Irving, Brandon Wetsel of Arcata, Calif., and Cody Wetsel of Hubbard; granddaughter, Tara Bowyer of Sachse; and great-grandson, James Carter Wetsel of Irving.

Jim Wallace Coleman, 80, of Fairfield passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, in Waco. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Elizabeth Helen Adair
Elizabeth Helen Adair, 87, of Austin passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003.
She is survived by her sons, Bryan Adair and David Adair; daughters, Anne Adair and Linda Adair; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Frances Cowden and Melba Foster.

Willis Ray "Red" Rutherford, 63, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, in Corsicana.

Mr. Rutherford was born Jan. 14, 1940, in Corsicana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Rutherford; mother, Johnnie Brent; and brother, David Rutherford.
