Frank J. Pannell, 73, of Roane passed away Sunday, July 28, 2002 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 4 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Harold Scott officiating. Interment will follow at New Chatfield Cemetery.
Mr. Pannell was born Aug. 1, 1928 in Dallas to Birdie Pannell and Evella McDonald Pannell. He served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Fran Pannell of Roane; sons, Frank Pannell Jr. of Houston, Johnny Pannell of Nevada, Texas, Joey Pannell of Conroe, and David Ferguson of Corsicana; daughters, Barbara Kay Bailey of Anna, Sandra Andrews of Austin, Susie Boultinghouse of Lampasas; sisters, Niva Murphy of Alvarado and Ruby Brakefield of Potosi, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Amy Argersinger
Amy Argersinger, 16, of Arlington joined the Lord on May 30, 2002.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Moore Funeral Home, Bowen Road Chapel, 4216 S. Bowen Road, Arlington.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Road, Arlington. Interment will follow at 5 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana.
Amy was born April 8, 1986 in Fort Worth. She lived a daily walk with the Lord, sharing His glory with others. Her smile radiated the love she felt for life and for others. She participated in church youth groups in both Arlington and Corsicana. Amy had completed her sophomore year at Martin High School, enjoying every minute of her life with her friends and family. She played violin in the Martin Orchestra and during her freshman year was on the Martin Diving Team. She was in Quiz League and Key Club at Martin. She had completed nine years of Girl Scouts, completing her Silver Award as a freshman; she was working on her Gold Award.
Survivors include her parents, Ray and Luann Argersinger; loving brother, Adam; grandparents, J.B. and FloRae Argersinger of Austin and Howard and Joyce Coley of Corsicana; aunts, uncles and cousins, Ross and Rose Curtis and Risa and Maya Curtis of Austin, George and Colleen Ellis and Michael and Ian Ellis of Spicewood, Jim and Terry Argersinger and Leah Argersinger of Coppell, Leo and Abbie Argersinger of Austin, David and Kitty Mellenbruch and Meagan and Justin Mellenbruch of Del Valle, David and Dawn Coley and Sadie and Jonah Coley of Corsicana; and many friends who will remember her smile.

Lewis Hebert Gee, 85, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002 in Dallas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Granbury Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Gee and Dr. Jimmy Finley officiating.
Mr. Gee was born July 2, 1916 in the Fall Creek community of Hood County. He married Imogene Boyd Aug. 14, 1946. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and served on many boards. He worked 12 years for Stewart Motor Company. He loved his church, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Bessie Gee; granddaughter, Sidney Michele Gee; grandson, Leslie Kyle Gee; brother, Truman Gee; and brother-in-law, John C. Bunch Jr.

Malvin F. 'Bud' Keathley
Malvin F. "Bud" Keathley, 89, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Cravens officiating. A private family interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Rhodes, Gary Rhodes, Eben Stover, Kenneth McManus, Dorsey Richards and Kyle Ward.
Mr. Keathley was born July 23, 1912 in Frost. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Forces, and had retired from the postal service. He was a member of the Navarro County Genealogical Society and St. Luke United Methodist Church for 65 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malvin "Jack" and Della Scott Keathley; sisters, Maxine Worsham and Billie Wilson.

Harrell Douglas Simpson
Harrell Douglas Simpson, 70, of Dawson and Irving, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the VA Medical Center in Dallas.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with the Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Interment will follow at Dresden Cemetery in Navarro County.
Mr. Simpson was born Aug. 26, 1931 in Llano. He graduated from Brady High School and attended Midwestern University and University of North Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. During the Korean Conflict, he was stationed aboard the USS Chourre in Japan. He was employed in the office of Roadway Express in Irving for over 25 years, retiring in 1998.
He married Gelene Duncan of Corsicana on April 6, 1957 in Grandfield, Okla.
Mr. Simpson attended First United Methodist Church of Dawson. He was a member of George B. Erath Chapter No. 13 of Waco, Sons of the Republic of Texas; J.L. Halbert Camp No. 359, Corsicana, Sons of Confederate Veterans; Military Order of the Stars and Bars, Hubbard City Masonic Lodge No. 530 AF&AM, and had served as worthy patron of Dawson Chapter No. 1046, Order of the Eastern Star.
His hobby in Irving was raising racing pigeons, one of his birds having held a national speed record.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Simpson; mother, Jane McCue McMillan Simpson; and brothers, Darrell and William McMillan Simpson.
Survivors include his wife, Gelene Simpson; children, Darrell Randall Simpson of Iowa City, Iowa and Sarita Carole Simpson of Three Rivers; sisters and brother-in-law, Batista and William J. Shaw of Salado; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Q. and Maebell Simpson of Llano and Jerry T. and Nancy Simpson of Brady; mother-in-law, Vera Duncan of Corsicana; brother-in-law, Tommie L. Duncan of Corsicana; sister-in-law and husband, Geneva and Bill Davis of Roane; and a host of nieces and nephews.

James M. 'Jimmy' Wrenn Jr.
James M. "Jimmy" Wrenn Jr., 80, of Paris passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at his residence.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris with John Jarchow officiating.
Mr. Wrenn was born Dec. 17, 1921 in Brownwood to James Marlin and Anna Rebecca Wrenn. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1941. In 1943, he married Betty Jo Long of Corsicana.
He began learning to fly in his early teens, and began a life-long love of flying. In World War II, he served as a flight instructor for the Army Air Corps in Corsicana, and later flew DC-3s and C-46 cargo planes over the "hump" in China and India.
After the war, he began flying for Delta Dusting Company (later to become Delta Airlines), and continued a career as a crop duster, flying instructor, and airplane mechanic, which spanned over 50 years. He lovingly restored many vintage aircraft by hand. In 1961, he and his family moved to Paris, where he ran Aero Dust and Spray at Cox Field. In 1993, the Federal Aviation Association awarded him the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award, named for the Wright brothers' mechanic, and he was a lifetime member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
He later married Billie Ruth Spann of Paris.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Higgins Campbell, who was an attorney in Philadelphia and Paris.
Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Jennifer Kozar of New Jersey; stepsons, Jerry Spann of Lufkin and Gary Spann of Tyler, grandsons, Hunter and lan Kozar of New Jersey, and step-grandchildren, Jeff Spann of Florida, and Nikki Lovelady of The Colony, Dawn Sims of Branson, Mo., and Jennifer Holloway of Denton.

Johnny Mack Brooks, 68, of Oakwood passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002 in Lancaster.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Johnny Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield.
Mr. Brooks was born July 18, 1933 in Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Henry and Margaret Jacobs Brooks; and wife of over 40 years, Mildred Brooks.
Survivors include his son, Bradley Brooks of Cedar Hill; daughter, Johnna Lee Crum of Crowley; brother, Norman Brooks of Oakwood; sister, Carolyn Fulton of North Carolina; and seven grandchildren.

Lula Hawkins
Lula Hawkins, 91, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, May 23, 2002 in Corsicana.
Memorial services will 2 p.m. today at North Beaton Church of Christ.
Mrs. Hawkins was born Nov. 24, 1910 on a farm near Mart to Jesse and Willie Montgomery Johnson. She married Thomas Hawkins in December 1939. She was a member of North Beaton Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 1984.
Survivors include her daughters, Jean Caldcleugh of San Antonio and Linda Nixon of Houston; sister, Jessey Willis of Dallas; grandchildren, Lisa Cannon, Ashley Hawkins, Chandler Prude, Price Prude, Tequila Nixon and Austin Nixon; great-grandchildren, Joshua Appling, Kenley Hawkins and Aspen Hawkins; and great-great-granddaughter, Chloe Appling.
