John R. Snyder
John R. Snyder, 66, of Junction City, Ore. passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002 in Springfield, Ore.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary in Moline, Ill. Interment will follow at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana.
Mr. Snyder was born May 10, 1936 in Moline, the son of Lloyd and Ruth Clayton Snyder. He was in the Army for three years and then worked for the former Means Laundry in Moline, and John Deere Parts as a fork lift operator. He then entered the Navy for four years. When he returned, he worked 13 more years for John Deere. He retired from McDonald Douglas Aircraft in California as a drill press operator in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Edward Snyder and sister Juanita Dideriksen.
Mr. Snyder is survived by wife June Snyder of Oregon; daughters Kathy Moulten of South Carolina and Sheri Frost of Indiana; son Scott Snyder of California; four grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Piearson of Thayer, Ind., Mary Paxton of Moline, Ill., Inez Gochee of Geneseo, Ill. and Barbara Smith of Colona, Ill.; brothers Edwin Snyder of Scotsdale, Ariz. and Wallace Snyder of Henderson, Nev.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Jeanne Watts Trusty, 70, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002 in Corsicana.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Luera officiating.
She was born Oct. 20, 1931 in Birmingham, Ala. She was a member of the Eastern Star and First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis and Cuma Watts.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, William J. and Debra Talley of Corsicana, and William S. and Tracey Trusty of Garland; sisters, Mildred Sibley of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Patricia Mayberry of Gallatin; granddaughters, Krystal M. Trusty and Misty M. Talley, both of Corsicana, Cuma Rena Agular of Los Angeles, Calif., and Brittany Pierce of Garland; grandsons, William S. Talley and Troy Trusty, both of Corsicana, William Vance Talley of Gallatin, Tenn., and Tyler Trusty of Garland; great-grandsons, Houston Talley and Xavier Lumley, both of Corsicana, and Joshua Agular and Joseph Agular, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; great-granddaughters, Breana Talley of Corsicana and Marissa Agular of Los Angeles, Calif.; and special friend, Pam Havens of Corsicana.

Clara Willhelm
Clara Willhelm, 80, of Navarro Mills passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Navarro Mills Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Willhelm was born Sept. 13, 1921 in Dallas to Frank Boydston and Rosie McCoy Boydston. She was a member of Navarro Mills Baptist Church. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Wilkerson Willhelm; and granddaughter, Gail Luanna Taylor.
Survivors include her son, James Aubrey Willhelm and wife Janice; daughter, Helen Anita Taylor; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Donald Dale Spurrier
Donald Dale Spurrier, 68, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Lone Oak Cemetery in Navarro County with Dr. Jimmy Finley officiating. A procession will leave Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home at 2 p.m.
Mr. Spurrier was born April 28, 1933 in Rural Shade in Navarro County to Archie F. Spurrier and Marie Eppler Spurrier. He was an employee of Trinity River Authority for 35 years where he was a plant manager.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Dale Spurrier.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Lee Cranford Spurrier of Corsicana; son, Donald Gene Spurrier of Grand Prairie; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Weldon Brooks Jr. of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Casey Akins, Sandy Spurrier, Sheri Stewart, Wade Brooks, Wendeline Brooks Ellis and Trey Brooks; and seven great-grandchildren.

Donald Ray 'Billy' McNeill
Donald Ray "Billy" McNeill, 66, of Gun Barrel City passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2002 in Athens.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with the Rev. Paul Hurley and Sam Vituosky officiating.
Mr. McNeill was born Aug. 3, 1935 in Lumberton, N.C. Formerly of Indiana, he had lived in Gun Barrel City since 1979. He loved his family and friends, was an avid fisherman and a wonderful person who will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wheeler McNeill; mother, Polly (Maynard) McNeill; and daughter, Jamie Price.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Ann McNeill of Gun Barrel City; daughters, Charlene Ford of Powell and Linda Fairchild of Camden, Ind.; sons, Donald Ray McNeill Jr. of Columbus, Ind. and James Price of Lafayette, Tenn.; son-in-law, William Ford of Powell; grandchildren, Jeff Ford, Joey Ford, Keith Robertson and Michelle Price; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Anna Marie Schuetz
Anna Marie Schuetz, 93, of Horton, Kan. passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002 at her residence.
Services were 2 p.m. Monday at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Horton, Kan. Interment followed at St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Schuetz was born Feb. 6, 1909 in Horton, Kan. to Cortland and Mary Kelly Haggard. She was a member of St. Leo's Altar Society, and Friendship Club in Horton, Kan., and Elks Club and Moose Lodge in Hiawatha, Kan. She was an avid Kansas City Royals baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al J. Schuetz on Oct. 7, 1992; infant daughter, Mary Ann; twin infant sons, Leo and Damien; son, Philip; granddaughter, Iva Marie Schuetz; brothers, Charles, Kelley and Courtland Haggard; and sister, Etta Kay Swartz.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Schuetz and wife Sharon of Oberlin, Kan., Richard Schuetz of Arlington, Va. and wife Joann Schuetz of Hiawatha, Kan., Michael Schuetz and wife Val of Horton, Kan., and Daniel Schuetz and wife Linda of Hiawatha, Kan.; daughters, Theresa Roush and husband Don of Kerens, Mary Clouse and husband Jim of Horton, Kan., and Carol Smith and husband J.W. of Layton, Utah; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Sidney Wright Blount
Sidney Wright Blount, 95, passed away March 26, 2002 at Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Dawson with the Rev. Charles Wallace officiating.
Mrs. Blount was born May 3, 1906 in the Liberty Hill community in Navarro County. She married Floyd Blount in 1925 at Hubbard. After her marriage, she lived in San Antonio, Hubbard, Athens, Seguin, and Altus, Okla. She lived in Altus from 1949 to 1994 and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her last years were in the Total Living Center in Hubbard and Forrest Ridge in Hamilton.
She was an accomplished writer and had published a book on Sampson Stewart and many magazine articles. At one time she was the Altus, Okla. reporter for the Wichita Falls newspaper. She was president of the Southwest Oklahoma Penwomen in Altus, and held many offices in the DAR.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; parents, Daws and Nellie Dove Wright of Hubbard; sisters, Myrl Lawrence, Mary Bennett, JoAnna Soupiset, and Alice McNeil; and brother, Robert Wright.
Survivors include her son, Floyd Blount Jr. and wife Anna Lee Blount of Athens; and niece, Betty Sullins of Navarro Mills Lake.

William James Alford
William James Alford, 87, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, March 24, 2002 in Rosser.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Harmony Baptist Church in Corsicana with Bishop John Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Means, Alonzo Lacy, Robert Gross, Steve Meankins, Eugene White and Lee Cox III. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Grant, Lee Evans, Freddie Lee Watson, Lee Cox, James Hines Sr., and Robert Earl Reynolds.
Mr. Alford was born Dec. 27, 1914 in Navarro County. He was retired from Oil City Iron Works.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Easter Lillie Steptoe Alford and Juanita Jones Alford; and sister, Geneva Gross.
Survivors include his sons, Willie Brown and wife Linda, and Sammy J. Jones, all of Corsicana, and the Rev. Larry Jones of Fairfield; daughters, Etta Pearl Williams of Corsicana, Mattie J. Cox and husband Lee of Rosser, Joyce A. Williams and Linda J. Beck, both of Dallas, and Jimmie Clayton of Corsicana; sister, Pearlie B. Williams of Dallas; a host of grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Laurissa Young
Laurissa Young, 87, of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
Services were 10 a.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Eston Turner officiating. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 4, 1914 in Fairfield. She was a housewife, and a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield.
Survivors include her daughter, Loretta Anderson of Fairfield; son, Robert Young III; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, James Newman of Fairfield; and special person in her life, Shirley Cassel of Fairfield.
