Jessie Keele
The Rev. Jessie Keele, 73, of Purdon passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Dr. Gary Johnson and the Rev. Lonnie Keele officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bo Ivie, John Ivie, Mike Ivie, David Ivie, Wayne Ivie, Robert "Red" Keele and Charles Keele. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Keele.
He was born Oct. 14, 1928. He was a minister from the age of 15. He pastored churches in Pasadena, Belton, Hubbard, and Corsicana with Evangel Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alma Keele of Purdon; sons, Ronnie Keele of Cunningham, Tenn. and Terry Keele of Corsicana; daughter, Jewel Rudnikoff of Chandler, Ariz.; sister, Lillie Terry of Lancaster; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Lee Scott Brown
Johnnie Lee Scott Brown, 65, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 at Medical Center of Arlington.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Apostle A.O. Chimney officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Williams, Michael Thomas, Lucion Jessie Jr., Freddie Watson, Charles Williams and Jimmie Ed Driver.
She was born Jan. 13, 1936 in Garrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Scott and Pearlie Holman; and sisters, Bobbie Wynn and Peggy Thomas.
Survivors include her sons, Bobby Charles Wilson and Charles Kennard, both of Corsicana; brother, Nathaniel Woods of Corsicana; sister, Birdie Haggerty of Corsicana; granddaughters, Shirecca Wilson, Raveen Wilson and Destinee Wilson; grandson, Joshua Wilson, all of Ennis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Oscar Rex Whiteside
Dr. Oscar Rex Whiteside, 72, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2001 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Fitch Jr., Clint Pyron, Derrick Whiteside, Jimmy Starling, Jack Whiteside, Chuck Whiteside, Ken Whiteside and Kurt Whiteside.
Dr. Whiteside was born Oct. 23, 1928 in Grapevine, and was a graduate of Grapevine High School. He served his country in two different uniforms, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army, during the Korean conflict. He received his bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University, a master of science degree from Texas Christian University and a doctor of education degree from Baylor University. In 1961, he joined the newly formed Hill Junior College in Hillsboro where he served as registrar and dean. In 1975, he accepted a position as dean of instructional services at Victoria College in Victoria. He had 34 years of experience in college teaching and administration. He retired in 1990 and moved to Corsicana. He served as interim dean at both the Mexia and Waxahachie campuses of Navarro College. He was a deacon and men's Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Corsicana, and was a member of the Navarro County Water Board and Navarro College presidential search committee.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Boyer Whiteside of Corsicana, whom he married in 1952; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Cheryl Whiteside of Grayslake, Ill.; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and John Fitch of Morgantown, W.V. and Sherri and Troy Pyron of Hillsboro; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Charles H. Whiteside of Kilgore and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin L. Whiteside of Royse City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin St., Corsicana, Texas 75110.

Clara Buck Hodge
Clara Buck Hodge, 94, formerly of Corsicana, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2001 at Brentwood Place Two Nursing Home in Dallas.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corley Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Leon Buck, Forrest Scarborough, Lee Glover, Sonny Buck and Matt Tapp.
Mrs. Hodge was born Jan. 26, 1907 in Alabama City, Ala. to Florence Holland Buck and Carter Tubb Buck. She grew up in Corsicana and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Corsicana. She was a longtime resident of Mesquite and a member of The Church of the Resurrection. She graduated from Texas Women's University. She was a social worker and spent many years as a case worker for The Lighthouse for the Blind in Dallas in addition to working at other children's homes in Dallas and Corsicana.
Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by children Emily, Janet, Joe and Clarence; brothers Roy and Raymond Buck and sisters Ruth Tirado and Ruby Garrett.
She is survived by sister Elora Buck Alderman of Mesquite; brother Leon Buck of Midland; nieces Katy Scarborough of Mesquite, JaNa Handley of Midland, Grace Jones of Boerne and Doris Liggett of Pinole, Calif.; nephews Sonny Buck of Midland, James Glasgow of Shreveport and Carter and John Lonon of Dallas; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Kevin Ray Anderson
Kevin Ray Anderson, 49, of Grapevine passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 in Grapevine.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Arlington Funeral Home, 1221 E. Division St., Arlington.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
Mr. Anderson was born July 4, 1952 in Dallas to Lois Faye Wooten Anderson and Edgar Dervin "Cotton" Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his mother, Lois Anderson of Corsicana; sisters, Linda Anderson of Grapevine and Jewell Fay Kirk and Barbara Heaslet of Corsicana; brothers, Roy and Steve Bradley of Dallas, and Kenneth, Edgar, Dennis, Alvin and Elvis Anderson of Corsicana; aunts, Dovie Reed of Corsicana and Doris Anderson of Richland; great-aunts, Syble Cornish of Dallas and Lorena Gorden of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Martha Louise Eppler
Martha Louise Eppler, 77, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, March 29, 2001 at her residence.
Services were 1 p.m. Sunday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Rev. Teri Hildebrand officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Eppler, Gary Eppler, Jeffery Eppler, Lee Eppler, Wicky Eppler, Mike Eppler and Donnie White.
Mrs. Eppler was born March 17, 1924 in Davis, Okla. to William and Edna Eddington. She worked for many years in the cafeteria for the Corsicana Independent School District.
Mrs. Eppler is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Alton and Martha Eppler of Baytown and Travis Glen and Kathaleen Eppler of Missouri City; grandchildren, Greg and Teresa Eppler of Baytown and Gary and Carla Eppler, all of Baytown, and Jeffery Eppler and Rebecca Eppler, both of Missouri City; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Eppler, Andrew Eppler and Celeste Eppler; brother, Sam Eddington and wife Iva of Bakersfield, Calif. and sister, Betty Self of Nacogdoches.

Gerald O. McClung
Gerald O. McClung, 89, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, April 1, 2001 in Corsicana.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Edward A. Baggett officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Brown, Leonard Fuller, Les Leskoven, Frank Murchison, Abe Stroud and Susan Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Brown, John Forster, Dennis Smart and Pete Walton.
Mr. McClung was born April 12, 1911 in Corsicana to Dr. and Mrs. John Edward McClung. His grandfather, Thomas Cyrus White, was the first white child born in Navarro County and Mr. McClung's great-grandfather, R.N. White, was the first county clerk of Navarro County as well as Corsicana's first postmaster.
Mr. McClung attended both Baylor University and the University of Texas studying electrical engineering. On June 20, 1937 he married Elizabeth Park.
In 1934, he completed his first solo flight and later became one of the civilian flight instructors at the Corsicana Air Field. Several items belonging to him are now on display at the museum at the Corsicana Municipal Airport.
Following the war, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel engineering department in both Corsicana and Tulsa, Okla. Returning to Corsicana in 1951, he was involved in farming until his retirement in the early 1970s. He was an avid fisherman and loved to raise flowers and plants. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Park McClung on Dec. 5, 2000; and brother, John Edmond McClung Jr.
Mr. McClung is survived by a son, John E. McClung III of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Estelle Beckham of Waco; grandson, John Christopher McClung of Dallas; granddaughter, Carin McClung Palmer of Salem, Ore.; great-grandson, Jacob Hunter McClung of Salem, Ore.; great-granddaughter, Jordan Brooke Palmer of Salem, Ore.; nephew, Steven Beckham of Dallas; nieces, Nancy Holster of College Station and Susan Wells of Dallas; and Pat Lowry McClung of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 N. 14th Street, Corsicana, Texas 75110.

Oren Bruce Brown
Oren Bruce Brown, 83, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, March 31, 2001 in Corsicana.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with Deacon Lewis Palos officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Hayes, Eddie Jones, Tommy Lane, Gowan Murphy, Frank Tarr and Billy J. Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be John Maxwell, Fred Richards and John Richards.
Mr. Brown passed away at home, surrounded by his family. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army for seven years. He retired from Norgas in 1979 after many years of service.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Brown and Travis Brown; daughter, Scarlett Ann Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille Budai Brown of Corsicana; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Nelson of Flower Mound; brother, Woodrow Brown of Corsicana; sister, Lucille Wynne of Arkansas; granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Jamie Nelson of Lewisville and Laurie and Michael Reibenstein of Lewisiville; great-granddaughters, Amanda Reibenstein and Cera Reibenstein, both of Lewisville; great-grandson, Samuel Sanchez of Lewisville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
