Martha N. Snyder, 77, of Purdon passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2001 in Corsicana.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Young officiating. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery.
Mrs. Snyder was born July 22, 1923 in Marlin. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Norrod; and brother, Monroe Speck.
Mrs. Snyder is survived by her husband, Roy Dale Snyder of Purdon; sons, James Dale Snyder of Waxahachie and Michael Edward Snyder and wife Susan of Sherman; daughter, Jeanette Dell Britain of Grand Prairie; granddaughters, Tamara Wilhite and husband David of Arlington and Amy Elizabeth Snyder of Sherman; and grandsons, David Andrew Snyder of Sherman and Kyle Britain of Grand Prairie.

Anthony William Barnes, 19, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2001 in Dallas.

He was born Oct. 13, 1981 in Miami, Fla.

Otto Sardis Shelley, 89, of Fairfield passed away Monday, April 2, 2001 in Houston.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Capps Memorial Chapel with Dr. Barry Landrum of Houston officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad McCleary, Chris Husband, John Shelley, Aaron Shelley, Wesley Shelley and Bryan Gilpin Jr.
Mr. Shelley was born Sept. 10, 1911 in Donie to John Thomas and Betsy Ezell Shelley. He was a retired rancher and major in the U.S. Army from 1937 to 1957. He was a member of the VFW in Fairfield and Round Prairie Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Beaver Shelley; great-grandson, Caleb Paul Husband; three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Shelley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bette and Bob McCleary of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Judy Shelley of Houston; grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Amy McCleary of Richardson, John and Karen Shelley of Fort Payne, Ala., Summer and Chris Husband and Aaron Shelley, all of Houston; great-grandchild, John Thomas Shelley IV; and sister, Ella Gilpin of Fairfield.

William Freeman "Bill' Ponder
William Freeman "Bill" Ponder, 84, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger officiating and assisted by the Rev. Buford Stockard and Brother Bill Honea. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Mr. Ponder was born April 5, 1917 in Frost to William F. and Nannie Albritton Ponder Sr. He grew up on a farm, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a pumper in the oil fields for 34 years, and retired from Crown Central Oil Company in 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and only brother, David A. Ponder.
Mr. Ponder is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ava Nell Bilberry Ponder of Corsicana; sisters, Gay Wright of Corsicana, Elizabeth Froese of Dallas, Catherin Stockard of Palestine, Norine Ponder of Dallas and Robbie Elmore of Frost; and sister-in-law, Ann Ponder of Dallas.

Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. Satuday at Ross and Johnson Mortuary Chapel with the Rev G. Skinner officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Memorial Park.

Ms. Kirven was born Jan. 21, 1954 in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Kirven and her father that reared her, L.B. Skinner.

Kirven of Dallas; grandchildren, Porshay, Charles Ray, Cieara, Jason, Arthur, Daldrick and Marshae; mother that reared her, Laura L. Erma Baker Walton, 84, of Corsicana, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas.

Mrs. Walton was born Feb. 18, 1917 in Groesbeck. She was a member of the Bethel AME Church. She received her formal education in the Richland School District, G.W. Jackson High School and Jarvis Christian College. She is a retired school teacher of 38 years in the Corsicana Independent School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Hassie Baker and husband, Searcy Walton.
She is survived by sisters, Everletta Cananaugh, Thelma Walker and Prentice Thronton; sister-in-law, Freddie Baker; brother-in-law, Curtis Cavanaugh and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lee was born May 24, 1930 in Hester Grove.
