F.L. "Effie" McClure
F.L. "Effie" McClure, 83, of Mertens, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Hillsboro Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Richland Cemetery in Mertens with Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
Mr. McClure was born March 28, 1919, in Lone Oak to Robert and Sally (McGee) McClure. He was born in Navarro County and lived there until 1952 when he moved to Galveston. In 1976, he moved to Mertens and opened up Mac's Small Engines. He married Mabel Davis in May of 1942 and was a member of the Frost United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter Sarah Bernice Stein, six sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include son Steve McClure of Mertens and five grandchildren Tammy Stein, Sally Stein, William Stein, Shelly McClure and Rhonda Watson.

Marvin Miller
Marvin Miller, 83, of Fort Worth passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 3, 2002 in Fort Worth surrounded by his loving family.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at Western Hills Church of Christ. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Clifton Cemetery in Clifton.
Mr. Miller was born Oct. 10, 1918 in Corsicana to Emmitt B. and Mary Ida (Williams) Miller, the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Corsicana High School, attended Hillsboro Junior College and completed his education at TCU. He served 35 years as a teacher, counselor and principal in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Survivors include his wife, El Damavis Miller of Fort Worth; brother, Roy Miller of Yucca Valley, Calif.; son, Dr. Brad Miller and wife Karen of Weatherford; daughter, Becky Miller of Arizona; and grandchildren.

Pat DeFord Smith
Pat DeFord Smith, 51, of Plano passed away Monday, July 29, 2002 at her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Highland Park with the Rev. Bill Power officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
Ms. Smith was born Nov. 23, 1950 in Dallas and had lived most of her life in Dallas, but had lived in Plano for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of University of North Texas where she majored in interior design. She was an interior designer in the Dallas area and also owned and operated the Nathaniel Barrett Building. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Arthur Scruggs in 1975; and brother, James Stephen Scruggs in 2000.
Survivors include her sons, James Barrett Hale and Nathaniel B. Hale; and her mother, Helen Scruggs, all of Dallas.

Mary Jo Hamilton
Mary Jo Hamilton, 73, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Joseph Johnson Sr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be Roosevelt Hamilton Sr., Lorenzo Hamilton, Robert Hamilton, Raymond Williams, La Gunden Hamilton and Victor Franklin.
Mrs. Hamilton was born Oct. 13, 1928 in Navarro County. She was a member of Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ and the singing group, The Friendly Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary McGraw; son, Roosevelt Hamilton; and grandsons, Rodney B. Williams and Roosevelt Hamilton.
Survivors include her sons, Lorenzo Hamilton and Robert Hamilton, both of Corsicana; daughters, Rosie M. Williams and husband Raymond and Shirley Barron, all of Corsicana; foster son, Billy Winston of Corsicana; sisters, Juanita Johnson and husband Fisher of Corsicana and Lizzie Renfro and husband J.C. Kenneth Wilson Roberts, 68, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, July 20, 2002 in Corsicana.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Corley Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Honea officiating.
Mr. Roberts was born May 31, 1934 in Amarillo. He was a welder.
He is survived by son Kenneth Roberts and wife Sharon of New Caney; daughters Debrina Hogue Mooney of Willis, Denada St. Clair and Janice Kay Cross, both of Amarillo; cousin Don Wilson of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Rhett Pauline Eidson Jr.
Rhett Pauline Eidson Jr., 90, of Corsicana passed away Friday, May 31, 2002, in Corsicana.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nancy Schusler officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery at 4 p.m. in Hamilton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Corley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eidson was born Dec. 5, 1911, in Adamsville. She was a housewife.
She passed away at The Twilight Home. Her heart gave out and she went to be with the Lord. She was a member of Central Methodist Church and worked as a pink lady for eight years in the old hospital. She was a member of Merak Temple No. 104 in Waco, Daughter of the Nile and Past Matron of Corsicana Chapter No. 118 Order of Eastern Star. She also loved to bowl.
Survivors include beloved friend, Wayne Mays of Lemon Grove, Calif.; daughter, Reta Patricia and Herman Gillen of Corsicana; sisters, Irene Sargent of Iowa Park, Ada Kalina of Solvang, Calif., Nada Sullivan of Granbury and Fay Oglesby of Hamilton; grandson and wife, Danny and Terri Gillen of Corsicana, granddaughters, Paula and Eric Trojack of Ennis and Rhetta Wasinger of Emhouse; great-granddaughters, Amie Gillen, Katie Gillen and Misty Gillen, all of Corsicana, and Amanda Crawford of Ennis; great-grandsons, Jeremy Crawford of Emhouse, Cody Trojacek of Ennis, Jacob Wasinger of Emhouse and Dalton Wasinger of Emhouse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barnwell Rhett Eidson Jr.; son, Knighten Rhett Eidson; and grandson, Randy Gillen.

Clifton D. Anderson, 96, of Fairfield died June 1, 2002, in Corsicana.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Capps Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gilford Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 18, 1906, in Freestone County. He was a retired rancher and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Anderson, Link Anderson, Nicky Anderson and Andy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Dodds, Bobby Rutherford, David Chapman, Billy Chapman and Glen White.

Amy Argersinger
Amy Argersinger, 16, of Arlington joined the Lord on May 30, 2002.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Road, Arlington. Interment will follow at 5 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana.
Amy was born April 8, 1986 in Fort Worth. She lived a daily walk with the Lord, sharing His glory with others. Her smile radiated the love she felt for life and for others. She participated in church youth groups in both Arlington and Corsicana. Amy had completed her sophomore year at Martin High School, enjoying every minute of her life with her friends and family. She played violin in the Martin Orchestra and during her freshman year was on the Martin Diving Team. She was in Quiz League and Key Club at Martin. She had completed nine years of Girl Scouts, completing her Silver Award as a freshman; she was working on her Gold Award.

Lewis Herbert Gee
Lewis Herbert Gee, 85, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002 in Dallas.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Granbury Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Gee and Dr. Jimmy Finley officiating.
Mr. Gee was born July 2, 1916 in the Fall Creek community of Hood County. He married Imogene Boyd Aug. 14, 1946. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and served on many boards. He worked 12 years for Stewart Motor Company. He loved his church, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Bessie Gee; granddaughter, Sidney Michele Gee; grandson, Leslie Kyle Gee; brother, Truman Gee; and brother-in-law, John C. Bunch Jr.
