Pearl Heifner Sheerer
Pearl Heifner Sheerer, 96, of Athens passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 in an Athens nursing home.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with her son Jimmy Sheerer officiating and sons-in-law assisting. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Sheerer was born May 18, 1906 in Axtel to Edgar and Josephine Heifner. She had been a resident of Athens since 1986 and was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ. The wife of a Church of Christ minister, her devotion to church work was her life. She and her husband served churches in Kerens, Madisonville, Cameron, Morgan City, La. and Utica, N.Y. She was a member of East Texas Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and was an excellent seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cato Sheerer; brothers, Clarence Heifner, Clyde Heifner, Lee Heifner and Albert Heifner; and sisters, Kate Hanks, Bessie Young and Jueldine McLin.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Nona Sue Sheerer of Chickasha, Okla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Ken Rich of Bandera, Joyce and Charles Williams of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mary and Lavelle Layfield of Athens; sister-in-law, Naomi Heifner of Corsicana; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernest Edward 'Pop' Paul
Ernest Edward "Pop" Paul, 68, of Wortham passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Porter Chapel in Wortham.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery near Mexia with the Rev. James Dorman officiating.
Mr. Paul was born Feb. 1, 1934. A longtime resident of Wortham, he had been a welder and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Oma Lee Chappell Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Larry Shelby; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Lisa Paul; grandchildren, Jeff Joyner and wife Colleen, Jennifer Paul, Rowdy Baker, and Brandon Paul; great-grandchild, Bryanna Joyner; brothers and sisters, Frances Massey, Mary Sutterfield, Arlin Paul and wife Irma, Ethelene Coker, Raymond Paul, Harold Paul and wife Susie, Terry Paul and wife Donna, Marvin Paul, Virgie Giles and husband Duane, Josephine Cox and husband James, and Adron Paul; and nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ernie C. Brandenburg
Ernie C. Brandenburg, 80, of Kirvin passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 in Fairfield.
Services were 10 a.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Louis Jones officiating. Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin.
Pallbearers were Allen Allee, Art Cornett, Athen Allee, Adam Cornett, H.G. Hughes and David Robinson.
Mrs. Brandenburg was born Nov. 15, 1922 in Mart. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxilary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mrs. Brandenburg is survived by her husband, Arlyn L. Brandenburg of Kirvin; son, Joseph Gilbert Broussard of Forth Worth; and special friends, Barbara Jo Robinson and Jo Ann Scott, both of Kirvin; grandchildren, Amy Broussard and Joseph Doyle Broussard, both of Fort Worth; and great-grandchild, Brandi Porter of Fort Worth.

Earlene Price Body, 65, of Corsicana passed away Wedensday, Dec. 4, 2002 at East Texas Medical Center, Tyler.
Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. today at M.R. Smith Parlor for Funerals in Corsicana.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Taylor Memorial Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Tommy G. Bowens as eulogist. Interment will be at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hall, Eugene McBride, Don Jones, James Bruton, Vernon Vanibuls and Michael Rush.
Mrs. Body was born Dec. 12, 1936 in Milford. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Church of God in Christ and a graduate of G.W. Jackson High School.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Price; father, Issue Price; mother, Willie Mae Price; and brother, Ervin Price.
Mrs. Body is survived by her husband, David Body of Corsicana; sons, Calvin Price and wife Laressa, Derwin Price and wife Debra, Lajuan and Robbie Nell, all of Corsicana; daughter, Veronica Jones and husband Freddie of Corsicana; brother, Bryon Price of Dallas; sister, Evelyn Garrett and husband James of Dallas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Letha Danford Minatra, 88, of Georgetown and formerly of Corsicana, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 in Georgetown.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Brother Phillip Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mrs. Minatra was born Feb. 27, 1914 in Blooming Grove to Christian and Laura Green Fulton. She worked for Hagger Slacks as a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Raymond W. Danford; husband of 17 years, Robert H. Minatra; granddaughters, Debra Kay Stuckly and Tamberly Renee Johns; and great-grandson, Mitchell John Stuckly.

Billy Bert Ferguson, 69, of Buffalo passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at his residence.

Mickey Edwards Jr.
Mickey Edwards Jr., 81, of College Station passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 in Bryan.
Private graveside services will be held in Corsicana at a later date.
Mr. Edwards was born Nov. 11, 1920 in Milk, Wis. He had lived in College Station for 13 years. He was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Fort Worth for many years. He served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He received his bachelor's degree in agriculture from Texas A&M and his master's degree in education from TCU. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bryan.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Ross Edwards of College Station; daughter, Karen Brosseau of Dallas; stepdaughters, Lynn Cobb of League City and Anetha Craft of Lake Charles, La.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
