Rhoton O. Cashion
Rhoton O. Cashion, 90, of Bardwell passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at his residence.
Services were 10 a.m. today at Keever Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Cashion officiating. Interment followed at Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell.
Mr. Cashion was born March 6, 1912 in Crisp to John C. and Della Mae Anderson Cashion. He was raised in Crisp where he attended school. On Aug. 11, 1934, he married Helen M. Ray. After their marriage they lived in Crisp. In 1947, they moved to Bardwell where he engaged in farming for over 40 years. He spent his life doing what he loved, farming. He retired in 1977. He was a member of Bardwell Church of Christ and was a 51-year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1054 in Bardwell.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Helen Cashion of Bardwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Grady and Kathy Cashion of Blooming Grove, Lloyd and Pat Cashion of Mount Pleasant and Kenneth and Judy Cashion of Avalon; four granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, seven great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elton C. Stone
Elton C. Stone, 83, of Kingsland passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 in Kingsland.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Nicholson, George Green, Rene Cruz, Don Beene, Robert Coleman and James Gunter.
Mr. Stone was born May 7, 1919 in Hico. He had lived in Kingsville and formerly lived in Fairfield. He had been a water well driller. He was a member of Fairfield VFW Post 5872.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Rowland Stone; and parents, David and Genoa Stone.
Survivors include his sons, Carl Stone of Mansfield, Denny Stone of Las Vegas, Nev. and Dennis Stone of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter, Nancy Spencer of Kingsland; brother, Vance Stone of Fort Smith, Ark.; sisters, Maxine Wylie of Durant, Okla. and Lawanna Thomas of Burleson; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Sandra Louise Sheets McCarter
Sandra Louise Sheets McCarter, 61, of Purdon went to be with the Lord. She passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at her residence.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert M. Young officiating. Interment will follow at Younger Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carey Ford III, Ray Clark, Dewey LaFoy, Robert Thigpin, Brad Steele, Billy Young, Phil Calvin and Brent Rickey.
Mrs. McCarter was born March 19, 1941 in Corsicana to Phillip Kelton and Mary Louise Wilson Sheets. She was a 1959 debutante and graduate of Wichita Falls High School. She attended TCU and Midwestern University.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Jim McCarter of Purdon; son, Michael McCarter of Corsicana; daughters, Kimberly McDonald and husband Jimmy and Kelly Davis, all of Purdon; mother-in-law, Pattie McCarter of Purdon; brother and sister-in-law, Jack W. and Louise Sheets of Plano; sister-in-law, Mrs. Phillip Kelton Sheets Jr.; niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haworth, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; and five wonderful grandchildren who will dearly miss her.

Arlee G. Lockhart
Arlee G. Lockhart, 88, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Jake Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Penney, J.D. Wright, Charles Kent, Robert Robinson, Ted Taylor and Frank Hignett.
Mr. Lockhart was born May 19, 1914 in Emhouse to Garrett Alexander Lockhart and Birdie Rich Lockhart. During World War II, Mr. Lockhart was a crew chief at the Corsicana Air Field. He maintained PT-19s at the Corsicana Air Field and at the Galveston Air Field. After the war, he became manager of the Chapman Ranch, which later became the Taylor Ranch, from July 1947 until his death. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church of Corsicana and was a great student of Revelation. He taught Sunday school for 35 years and the last lesson he taught was Sunday, Jan. 19. He was a great story teller with a wonderful memory and a gift for presentation. He remembered the people he met and the places he visited and could present them with humor. He was a great and gentle man who was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed very much.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Sarah Lockhart of Corsicana; sons and daughters-in-law, Obie Lee and Joyce Lockhart of Kerens and Joe David and Susan Lockhart of Burleson; daughter, Gena Ruth Chandler of Corsicana; grandchildren, Mike Lockhart, Lynn Merrell, Janet Lockhart, Cole Taylor and Kirk Lockhart; great-grandchildren, Rachel Merrell, Kaitlyn Merrell, Garrett Lockhart and Lauren Lockhart; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Marie Lockhart of Corsicana; and sister, Jewel Porch of Corsicana.

Raymond Arvine Davis, 83, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Kathryn Cooper Mims, 80, of Purdon, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2001, in Corsicana.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Cave officiating. Interment will follow at New Pursley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Douglass, Roy Duckworth, Bobby Duke, Denny Fowler, Bill Mims and Stephen Mims.
Mrs. Mims was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Many, La. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Purdon.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Mims of Purdon; daughters, Jane Douglass and husband Glen of Houston, Bobbie Ann Gonzales and husband Al of Dallas, and Kim Clemons and Betsy Brooks, both of Corsicana; sons, Everett Clemons Jr. and wife Jeanette of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C., Stephen Mims of Ennis and Bill Mims of Corsicana; brother-in-law, Robert Lee Clemons of Dawson; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Leslie Gail Reiter, 49, of Mildred, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 4 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with the Rev. B.F. Risinger, Tony Neal and Marc Reiter officiating. Graveside services will follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Hooks.
Mrs. Reiter was born Feb. 28, 1952, in Knoxville, Tenn. She was a teacher in the Rice Independent School District.
She is survived by husband, Douglas Reiter of Mildred; daughter, Heather Lynn Reiter of Mildred; son, Marc Douglas Reiter of Mildred; parents, Morrison and Patricia Kitchen of Saint Jo; brother, Lynn and Susan Kitchen of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews and close friend Lynda Maxwell of Dallas.

Will "Mack' Crawford
Will "Mack" Crawford, 73, of Corsicana passed away Friday, March 30, 2001 at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Westhill Church of Christ with Ferman Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove.
Pallbearers will be Justin Mahoney, Hank Rosenthal, Neal Crawford, Lynn Berry, Crawford Tatum and Kenneth Logan.
Mr. Crawford was born June 22, 1927 in Blooming Grove and was raised there. He served in the U.S. Navy prior to graduating from Navarro College and Sam Houston State University. He married Ann Louise McCulloch in 1954, after each were designated as "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities."
He worked as news editor of the LaMarque Times until returning to Navarro County in 1956, where he became editor of the Frost Enterprise. He was given the North and East Texas Press Association Community Service Award.
Mr. Crawford purchased a general insurance agency in Blooming Grove in 1960, but continued to live in Frost. He served as president of the Frost Civitan Club, was on the Frost City Council, and was instrumental in the construction of Joe Parum Jr. Memorial field for youth and high school baseball. He was an honorary member of the Frost chapter of FFA.
He joined the Navarro County Tax Office in 1970 as its first field deputy. In 1982, he was employed by the Navarro Appraisal District where duties included oversight of all appraisal review board hearings until his 1988 retirement.
After his family moved to Corsicana in 1978, Mr. Crawford served as a deacon of Westhill Church of Christ. He was secretary and bulletin editor of the Corsicana Lions Club. He was named outstanding Lion of 1991, received the 1990-1991 secretary award, and given a life membership to the Texas Lions Camp.
He was a periodic community columnist for the Corsicana Daily Sun beginning in 1988. He also served on the Corsicana State Home Community Advisory council, and as a volunteer writer for the CSH treatment program, the CSH staff, school and student activities.
His more than 50 feature articles brought him the Texas Department of Aging Outstanding Volunteer Award, the Texas Youth Commission Special Volunteer Award, a State of Texas Senate Commendation and the Texas Corrections Association Star Award.
In 1990, both he and Mrs. Crawford received the Navarro College Bulldog Backer co-award. One year later, he received the Navarro County Senior Citizen Award. In 1999, he was named Blooming Grove High School Ex-Student Association Outstanding Ex-Student.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Crawford; parents, Bill and Thelma Crawford; and brother, Jimmy Crawford.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and David Mahoney of Corsicana; sons, Willie Crawford and Neal Crawford, both of Corsicana; grandchildren, Kammi Calvery, Justin Mahoney, Amber Crawford and Ricki Crawford; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Ralph Tatum of Corsicana; nephew, Crawford Tatum; and goddaughter, Lynn Rosenthal Hallford of Anchorage, Alaska.
