James Lee Britton
James Lee Britton, 59, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Arlington Funeral Home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Arlington Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Britton was born Sept. 19, 1943 in Corsicana. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1961 and from Navarro Junior College in 1963. He attended Arlington State College from 1963 to 1964. He worked for the Arlington Independent School District for 33 years, retiring in April 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Parish Britton of Arlington; daughters, Laura Ortega and Jewel Christine May; brother, Loyd Ray Britton and wife Patti of Garland; granddaughters, Amber, Megan, Heather and Bethany; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Jessie Lee Hamilton
Jessie Lee Hamilton, 98, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chatfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry L. Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Chatfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mr. Hamilton was born May 25, 1904 in Shiro.
Survivors include his brother, Claude Isaac of Shiro; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews including Margaret Ricard, Sonji Duber, Delores Cooks and David Blairs; and special friends, Erma Smith and Walter Andrews.

Connie Jean Townsend Beckham
Connie Jean Townsend Beckham, 47, of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at W. Erle & Emma White Hospice Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lunn's Colonial Chapel in Wichita Falls. Dr. David Hale, former pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana, will officiate. Committal service will be in Highland Cemetery at Durant, Okla. at 3 p.m.
Ms. Beckham was born Dec. 22, 1955, in Durant, Okla. She was employed by the State of Texas as a healthcare worker. She moved to Wichita Falls four years ago from Waxahachie and was a member of the Ferris Avenue Baptist Church in Waxahachie.
Survivors include parents Willard E. and Betty Clogene Northcutt Townsend of Wichita Falls, and two sisters Vicky Sewell and husband David of Frisco, and Tonie Slaton of Wichita Falls.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Gladys Rhoades, 79, of Mesquite passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, in her residence.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Kerens Cemetery with Rev. James Schoenrock officiating.
Ms. Rhoades was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Navarro County. She was retired from Texas Instrument in Richardson where she worked for 35 years.
Survivors include three nieces Carolyn Holston of Mesquite, Brenda Walker of Waco and Racine Timmons of Granbury; and two nephews Doyle Trent of Waco and Kenneth Trent of Avinger.

Sampie Thompson Sr.
Sampie Thompson Sr., 98, of Kerens passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at Heritage Oaks West in Corsicana.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount B Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest Betts as eulogist and the Rev. Nathaniel Carter, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Goodlow Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wilbur Silas Jr., Tyrone Martin, Virgil Johnson, Ernest Harris Jr., Otis Tolliver and James Martin.
Mr. Thompson was born April 11, 1904 in Kerens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Pearl Thompson; sisters, Margarite Green and Cecil Armstrong; brothers, Roosevelt Thompson; son, Willie C. Thompson; daughter, Bertha Tolliver; grandson, Timothy Thompson; and great-grandson, Jaylon Faulk.
Survivors include his sons, Sampie Thompson Jr. and wife Dorothy of Fort Worth and Oscar Lee Thompson of Kerens; daughters, Winnie Woods of Dallas, Reba Silas and husband Wilbur of Fort Worth, Sandra Harris and husband Ernest of Kerens; 31 grandchildren including special granddaughter Pamela Mitchell and husband Ruben of Dallas; 61 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Janet "Elaine" Berry, 46, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 in Dallas.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nanette Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.

Katherine Gordon Potter
Katherine Gordon Potter, 95, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 in Corsicana.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. E. Dennis Smart officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Brown, Dr. James Witten, Dr. Robert Bone, Doyce Smith, Jim Currie, Nolan Williams and J.B. Keith.
She was born March 12, 1907 in Tullahoma, Tenn. A 1930 graduate of Vanderbilt College, she was a statistician for the U.S. Government Census Bureau for 30 years. She was a 26-year resident of Corsicana and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her sister, Betty Norvell of Dallas; and stepdaughters, Nancy Newby of Cookeville, Tenn. and Robbie Harris of Nashville, Tenn.
Services are pending with Corley Funeral Home.
Barbara Sue Hagle
Barbara Sue Hagle, 67, of Dawson passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 at Providence Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wade Funeral Home.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Dawson with the Rev. David Fergeson and the Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Interment will follow at Dawson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gene Carver, Ray Rogers, Gus Clark, Ryan Walters, Jeffrey Murray and Brandon Hagle.
Mrs. Hagle was born Sept. 29, 1935 in Corsicana and was a 1953 graduate of Corsicana High School. She had lived in Dawson since 1975 and prior to that had lived in Corsicana. Mrs. Hagle was a self-employed beautician until she retired in 1978. She enjoyed gardening and quilting, and she and her husband owned the Navarro Drive-In Theater in Corsicana for over 33 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dawson.
Survivors include her husband, Buel Lee Hagle of Dawson; daughter, Becky Walters and husband Richard of Dawson; sons, Jeff Murray and wife Elsa of Mesquite, Harold Hagle of San Augustine and Terry Hagle of Washington, D.C.; sister, Edith Forgy of Grand Prairie; and grandchildren, Ryan Walters of Dawson, Brandon Hagle of San Augustine, Jeffrey Murray of Corsicana, Cody Cisneros of Mesquite and Theresa Edwards of Corsicana.
