James 'Jim' Leon Horn Sr.
James "Jim" Leon Horn Sr., 83, of Dallas passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 in a Dallas hospital.
Family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday at Wade Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wade Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brad Dancer officiating. Masonic graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
Masons will be pallbearers.
Mr. Horn was born Jan. 17, 1919 in Penelope. He was raised in the Penelope, Whitney and Hubbard area. He had been a Dallas resident since 1961 after having previously lived in Tyler. Mr. Horn worked for 29 years as a technician for Dictaphone Corporation and for the past 27 years had been self-employed as an engraver. He was a longtime square dance caller in the North Texas area and is a lifetime member of the Square Dance Caller Association of North Texas. He was also a member of Gibraltar Masonic Lodge No. 1179 of Dallas and the Elks Lodge in Irving. Mr. Horn was a Baptist and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Reed Horn of Dallas; son, James Leon "Butch" Horn Jr. and wife Cathy of Grand Prairie; daughters, Barbara Brown and husband Milton of Grand Prairie and Marilyn Garrison and husband Kenneth of Granbury; grandchildren, Terry and Christie Garrison of Granbury, Lisa Horn and James Douglas Horn, both of Grapevine, and Elton Dickens of Denton; and great-grandson, Trevor Garrison of Granbury.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital in Dallas.

Joseph Wayne Kittrell
Joseph Wayne Kittrell, 72, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 in Corsicana.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Mr. Kittrell was born March 25, 1930 in Minco, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel and Maude Viola Kittrell; sister, Ester Mae Mosley; and brothers, Charles Ray Kittrell and Virgil Kittrell.
Survivors include his sons, Joe Wayne Kittrell and Chet Kittrell, both of Corsicana; sisters, Bonnie Shepard and husband Howard of Boston, Mass., Barbara Mullinger and June Walton, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Ernest C. Bryant Jr.
Ernest C. Bryant Jr., 85, of Duncanville and formerly of Streetman, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 in Dallas.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Brother Wayne Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman.
Pallbearers will be Don Vandiver, Donald Carroll, Erich Brown, Stanley King, Glen Dale Minze and Jeff Minze.
Mr. Bryant was born May 30, 1917 in Streetman to Ernest C. Bryant Sr. and Nora Evarts Bryant. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service, an official for the State Fair of Texas, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend, and celebrated 66 years of marriage Sept. 19 with his family in attendance.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Livingston Bryant; son, Ernest C. Bryant III and wife Darrene of Duncanville; daughter, Melanie June Elmore and husband Sonny of Garland; grandchildren, Gary Mace, Alan Mace, Cameron Bryant and wife Lisa, and Jason Bryant; and brother, Tommy Bryant.

William Doyle Brown, Sr.
William Doyle Brown, Sr., 91, of Hubbard passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 at a Mexia hospital.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wade Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Irvin officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don Prue, Terry Brown, Mike Brown, Kyle Brown, Alvah Brown and Justin Brown.
Mr. Brown was born Sept. 24, 1911 in Hubbard. He was a lifelong resident of Hubbard and a longtime farmer and rancher. He also worked as a groundskeeper at McLennan Community College in Waco and enjoyed Hubbard Jaguar football. He was affiliated with First United Methodist Church of Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by wife Joda Addice Collier Brown, son Don Collier Brown, granddaughter Sona Dea Brown, daughter-in-law Frankie Brown and four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include sons W.D. Brown Jr. of Waco, Jan Elvis Brown and wife Linda of Burleson and Tommy Doyle Brown and wife Louise of Austin; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Tommy Harper, 41, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002 in Corsicana.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert Young officiating. Interment will follow at Dresden Cemetery.

He was born June 26, 1961 in Corsicana. He was a special gift from God and a blessing to everyone whose lives he touched.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. John L. and Jeanne Harper of Corsicana; brother and sister-in-law, John L. and Denise Harper of Corsicana; sister and brother-in-law, Ricki and Jimmy Driffill of Helotes; nephews, Matthew Driffill of Helotes and Walt Harper of Corsicana; nieces, Sarah Harper and Caroline Harper, both of Corsicana; and many lifelong friends.

Mary "Lillie" Spencer, 90, of Hubbard passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at a Hubbard nursing center.

Mrs. Spencer was born Sept. 19, 1911 in Ladonia. She owned and operated Spencer Laundry in Hubbard with her husband for over 30 years. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church of Hubbard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Spencer in 1982; sister, Jane Nelson Higgins in 1975; brother, James Wesley Nelson in 1996; and great-grandson, Thomas Allen Judkins in 1980.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James Elmer and Virginia Spencer of Azle and Harvey Leon and Linda Spencer of Waco; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jessie Standard O'Neal
Jessie Standard O'Neal, 84, of Lampasas passed away Friday, May 24, 2002 in Lampasas.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. of First Baptist Church in Corsicana officiating. Interment will follow at Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Ross O'Neal, Ryan O'Neal, Rudy Martinez, Jason Helton and Dusty Henderson.
Mrs. O'Neal was born March 11, 1918, the sixth of eight children of W.W. and Janie Lucile Standard. A graduate of Lampasas High School, she was a cheerleader and editor of the school newspaper. After attending business school, she worked for Texas Power and Light Company and Lampasas Leader.
Following a whirlwind courtship, she married W.C. "Bud" O'Neal of Corsicana April 9, 1940. He owned a farm retail store in Corsicana, where they made their home. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary before his demise in 1991.
Mrs. O'Neal is survived by her brother, Ted Kay Standard of Munford, Tenn.; children and their spouses, Bill and Karon O'Neal of Carthage, Judy and John Smith of Lampasas, and Mike and Jerilynn O'Neal of Carrollton; grandchildren, Chris Smith of Houston, Molly Smith of Friendswood, Lynn O'Neal Martinez of Grand Prairie, Dr. Shellie O'Neal of Corsicana, Berri O'Neal of Dallas, Causby O'Neal Henderson of Greenville, Ross O'Neal of College Station and Ryan O'Neal of Carrollton; great-granddaughter, Chloe Martinez of Grand Prairie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
