William Kenneth Lipsey
William Kenneth Lipsey, 60, of Waxahachie passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 at his residence.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 W. U.S. Highway 287 Bypass.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Life Worship Center, 1320 Brown St., Waxahachie, with his nephew, Pastor Edwin Lipsey, and Joe Bertinetti officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
Pallbearers will be Doyle Brown, Wendell Carrington, Bill Waller, Don Anderson, Richard Carrigan and Gary Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamey Williams, Clifford Stacks, Jackie Stutts and Gary Carrigan.
Mr. Lipsey was born Feb. 6, 1941 in Hubbard. He had lived in Waxahachie and owned and operated his brick masonry company for 25 years. He attended New Life Worship Center. His favorite hobby was playing golf. He excelled in football and basketball during his high school years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.W. Lipsey and Madie Hamilton Lipsey; son, Kenneth Wayne Lipsey in 1991; and brother, W.E. Lipsey in 1985.
Mr. Lipsey is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Lipsey of Waxahachie; son and daughter-in-law, David D. and Mary Lipsey of Waxahachie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles "Buck" and Donna Lipsey of Ennis and Donald Ray and Jody Lipsey of Tyler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Walls of Ennis, Betty and Carl Stephens of Waco and Doris and Kenneth Moore of Rosenthal; grandchildren, Amy Koenig of Carrollton, Jimmy Lipsey of Waxahachie, Amanda Long of Garrett and a very special granddaughter, Payton Lipsey; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law and loving caregiver, Brenda Carrigan.

Maurice Wilson, 82, of Glen Rose, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2001 in Glen Rose.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. today at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Church of Christ and had lived in Glen Rose and Pecan Plantation areas since the 1970s. She was a former Dallas resident.
She was preceded in death by son, Gregory Stephen Wilson in 1992; and her husband, Earl Vista Wilson in 1994.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by son, Rodney B. Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev., seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Lea Ross of Corsicana, Mary Crider of Tulsa, Okla. and Bonnie Vaughn of Dallas; brothers, Benny Richardson of Gonzales, Bill Richardson of Corsicana and Ralph Richardson Jr. of Gun Barrel City.

Fern Hiler Woodland, 83, of Blooming Grove, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Corsicana.
Services were 11 a.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Blooming Grove with the Rev. Thomas Childs. Interment was at Dresden Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hugh Nicholson, Edd Hill, Michael hiler, Rita Farish, Scott Armstrong, Randy Hiler, Belinda Brownlow, Bryan Hiler and Georgia Shipley.
Mrs. Woodland was born April 24, 1917, in Blooming Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Woodland, parents, George and Georgia Hiler, and sisters, Mattie Ruth Niver and Inez King Hemmingway.
She is survived by son, Jimmy and Sarah Woodland of Lake O'The Pines; daughter, Pat and Eddie Davis of Waxahachie; granddaughters Monetta Schwartz of Dallas, Vanessa Haughton of Austin, Meridith Weatherby of Dallas; grandson, Kirk Davis of Dallas; great grandson, Jake Davis of Waxahachie; sisters, Sadie Hill, Macil Nicholson, Maxine Armstrong, Dot Russell, all of Blooming Grove and Barabara Garrison of Kerens, and brothers, Hubert Hiler of Grandbury, Doug Hiler of Blooming Grove and Ronnie Hiler of Frost.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Church of Chrise and had lived in Glen Rose and Pecan Plantation areas since the 190s. She was a former Dallas resident.
She was preceded in death by son, Gregory Stephen Wilson and her husband, Earl Vista Wilson.
She is survived by son, Rodney B. Joanna Agnes Ivory DeGraffenreid
Joanna Agnes Ivory DeGraffenreid, 95, of Glenn Heights passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at Lennwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dallas.
Services were 10 a.m. Friday at First Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry L. Polk Sr. officiating. Interment was held at Wells Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
Pallbearers were Gerald Baldwin, G.W. Baldwin, Robert Edwards, Billy Gray, Donald Ware and Marvin Baldwin.
Mrs. DeGraffenreid was born Oct. 14, 1906 in Liberty. She united with First Independent Baptist Church in 1938 where she remained a faithful member until she moved to Glenn Heights.
Survivors include her daughters, Beverly DeGraffenreid of Glenn Heights and Bertha M. Scott of Fort Worth; grandson, Nathaniel Scott II of Arcadia, Calif.; granddaughter, Cassandra DeGraffenreid-King and husband James of Houston; great-grandsons, Nathaniel Gregory and Jordan Miles Scott of Arcadia, Calif.; and cousins, Chester D.T. Baldwin of Austin, Gussie Jones, Larry Baldwin and Henry Lloyd Dugat of Liberty.

Glenn Joseph Cook
Glenn Joseph Cook, 79, of Granbury passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Chapel at Texas A&M University in College Station. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was born March 5, 1922 in Bazette. He graduated from Mildred High School in 1939 and Texas A&M University in 1944. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He was executive director of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments and a resident of Bryan for 26 years before retiring to Granbury in 1993.
Mr. Cook was a member of First Baptist Church of Granbury. He was a 40-year member of Redland Masonic Lodge No. 3, A.F.&A.M., San Augustine, National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and American Legion Earl Graham Post No. 159, Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jordan Cook; son, Boyd Thomas Aringdale; and parents, Alvah Raymond Cook and Lillie Pearl Kelly Cook.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Liz Cook of Dallas; grandson, Jordan Hays Cook of Dallas; sister, Cookie Montgomery of Dawson; brothers, Preston Kelly Cook of Temple, Raymond Wendell Cook and Edward Lockhart Cook, both of Corsicana, and Sidney Albert Cook of Pensacola, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Evelyn and Howard Scott of Fort Worth; aunt, Ina Mae Wilson of Houston; special friend and caregiver, Mary Foust of Granbury; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
