Frank MacKay Patchen
Frank MacKay Patchen, 88, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001 in Corsicana.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. today at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Edward A. Baggett officiating.
Mr. Patchen was born Oct. 29, 1913 in Newark, N.Y. He grew up in Providence, R.I. where he graduated from Brown University in 1935. He served in the 106th Infantry Division during World War II, fought and was captured during the Battle of the Bulge, and spent four months as a prisoner of war before he was released in the spring of 1945.
Mr. Patchen obtained an M.B.A. degree from New York University, was recognized nationally as Retail Man of the Year, and served on the board of directors of several business and academic organizations. He was president of the variety store chain McCrory, McClellan, H.L. Green and the J.J. Newberry stores and retired after a 40-year career.
In 1975, Mr. Patchen and his wife bought a department store in Portland, Maine, which they operated for three years. After the blizzard of 1978, they retired again and moved to Phoenix, Ariz. where they lived 15 warm years before moving to Addison to be near their daughter and son-in-law.
Moving to Corsicana in 1996, he made many new friends. He was active in several organizations including the Lions Club, Toastmasters, the Apartment Association, Corsicana State Home, the nursing home ombudsman program, and as a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, to whom he was married for 54 years; nephew, Donald Elliott; and parents, Frank F. and Jessie MacKay Patchen
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and George Walker of Corsicana; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Elizabeth Ann Ralston Patchen of Trevor, Wis.; granddaughter, Loral Patchen of Silver Spring, Md.; sister, Catherine J. Elliott of Longmeadow, Mass.; niece, Cathy Ward of Longmeadow, Mass.; and nephew, Vincent Donkowski of Delray, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, Capital Fund.

Faye Blood
Faye Blood, 63, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001 in Houston.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Richland Cemetery with Dr. David Hale officiating.
Mrs. Blood was born Feb. 11, 1938 in Willis, Okla. to R.A. and Katherine Frazier. She worked at Sears as a shipping clerk, and she was also a beauty operator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Blood; and stepdaughter, Carolyn Thomas.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Cannon and Lillian Brown and husband Kenneth, all of Corsicana, stepdaughters, Betty Stewart of Moffett, Fran Gainer of Temple and Harriett Brown of Temple; 12 grandchildren; and brother, George Thompson of Krum; six stepbrothers and stepsisters; special friend, Glen Shamblin of Waco; and numerous other friends.

Peter Michael Horvath Sr.
Peter Michael Horvath Sr., 58, of Cedar Creek Lake and formerly of Corsicana, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Brother Lawrence Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Dunn, Jerry Allen, Mike Cotton, Bill Knuerr, Clyde Brett and Wayne McClellan.
Mr. Horvath was born Jan. 6, 1943 in Racine, Wis. to Albert and Marion Horvath. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Horvath of Trinidad; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Drew Dotson of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and DeeAnn Horvath of Kansas City, Mo., Chris and Joni Horvath of Prior Lake, Minn., Pete Horvath II of Lewisville, Eric and Rebecca Horvath of Seattle, Wash., and Tom Horvath of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; stepchildren and their spouses, Jeffery and Sandra Ivie of Emory, Donna and Billy Cole of Corsicana and Loyal Poe III of Dallas; brother, Tom Horvath of Mason City, Iowa; sister, Mary Jo Kellogg of Eagle Grove, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren.

Gail Francile Largent, 86, of Streetman passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at her residence.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. today at Kingdom Hall, 540 E. Reunion, Fairfield, with Dave Williams officiating.
Mrs. Largent was born Feb. 16, 1915 in Aberdeen, S.D. She was a nurse.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Francile and Jim Sanders of Streetman.

Lacy Bell King, 78, of Kerens passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at her residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. D. Dunnington officiating. Interment will follow at Samaria Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frank Peters, Jerry Sayles, David Washington, James Faulk, Carl Faulk and Billy Martin.
Mrs. King was born Sept. 15, 1923 in Frankston. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Kerens and a member of Heroines of Jericho Court No. 70.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nathaniel Williams; and brother, John Henry Williams.
Mrs. King is survived by her brothers, Arthur Martin of Kerens and John Henry Willams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ora Lee and Maurice Warrich of Tuscon, Ariz., Clarenda Edwards of Fort Worth and Katherine and John T. Johnson of Kerens; sons, Nathaniel Williams and John Henry Williams; five grandchildren, Nathan Faulk, Carol Jefferson, John Jefferson, Whortie Faulk and Vincent Faulk; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and special niece, Margie Carter of Fort Worth.

Tommy Harper
Tommy Harper, 41, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002 in Corsicana.
Services are pending with Corley Funeral Home.
He was born June 26, 1961 in Corsicana. Tommy was a special gift from God and a blessing to everyone whose lives he touched.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. John L. and Jeanne Harper of Corsicana; brother and sister-in-law, John L. and Denise Harper of Corsicana; sister and brother-in-law, Ricki and Jimmy Driffill of Helotes; nephews, Matthew Driffill of Helotes and Walt Harper of Corsicana; nieces, Sarah Harper and Caroline Harper, both of Corsicana; and many lifelong friends.

Doris Jean Ellison Wilkes
Doris Jean Ellison Wilkes, 63, of Los Angeles, formerly of Corsicana, passed away July 10, 2002 at Kindred Hospital in Los Angeles.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ with Bishop Robert Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bell, Derrick Bell, George Marshall II, Ivory Joe Bell, Walter McBride and Lessie L. Ellison Jr.
Mrs. Wilkes was born Dec. 11, 1938 in Corsicana. She was a member of the True Friendship Baptist Church of Englewood, Calif.
She was preceded in death by husband Wilbert Wilkes and son Gregory Wilkes.
Mrs. Wilkes is survived by sister Helen Bell of Corsicana; sisters-in-law Minnie Pearl Wilkes of Los Angeles and Shirley Ellison and Jettie Ellison, both of Corsicana; special cousin Maurice Grant and wife Etta; special friend Shirley White of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Walter Samuel Stevens
Walter Samuel Stevens, 93, of Yoakum passed away Monday, July 22, 2002 at Stevens Nursing Home in Yoakum.
Services were scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville with Elvis Johnston officiating and interment to follow at Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brian Burleson, Samuel Burleson, William "Butch" Emanuel, Gregory Propst, Andrew Scott and Kenneth Scott Jr.
Mr. Stevens was born June 24, 1909 in Fordtran. He had been a minister with the Church of Christ throughout East and Central Texas. He married Bessie Mae Hailey Stevens July 24, 1930. She preceded him in death Feb. 24, 1973. He married Maurine Calvert Willingham Stevens Aug. 10, 1974. She preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1992.
He was also preceded in death by his father, George Garrett Stevens; mother, Annie Rosella Green Stevens; sons, Garland Stevens and D. Clovis Stevens; brothers, Sterling, Ward, Erving and Barney Stevens; and sisters, Lodemia Summerfield, Pearlie Rhodes, Jane Carroll, Sallie Fudge, Nellie Vick and two at infancy.
Survivors include his daughters, Geraldine F. Scott of Weslaco and Geneva M. Burleson of Clear Lake, Iowa; stepdaughters, Jo Ellen Callaway and Shirley Nuche; stepson, Leon Willingham; 11 grandchildren, 18 step grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Katy Baker Doran
Our dear mother and grandmother, Katy Doran, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2003, with her children at her side. Marion Kathryn "Katy" Saenger Baker Doran was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Cuero to Marion (Dinter) and Emil E. Saenger. Katy grew up in Kerrville where she attended Schreiner Institute and graduated from Texas State College for Women in Denton. She married Billie C. Baker in June 1947 and taught first grade in San Angelo, residing there until 1974. Katy married Jack K. Doran in January 1974 and lived in Corsicana until 1999. After a brief return to Kerrville, she moved to Sugar Land in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands. Katy is survived by a sister, Flo Lindner of Comfort; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Ann and Ed Farris of Sugar Land; and son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Leslie Baker of San Antonio. She is survived by grandsons, Chad, Edward and Raymond Farris and Cameron, Wilson and Charlie Baker; nephew, Patrick Lindner; and nieces, Marian Willenborg, Dorothy Saathoff and Connie Melvin. Survivors also include Jack's sons, Russell and Ken Doran, and their families. Katy's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard Ave., San Angelo. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with graveside service to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
