Carl F. 'Ned' Harrison
Carl F. "Ned" Harrison, 85, of Fairfield passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 in Fairfield.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Capps Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ed Ridge officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be A.C. Longino, Roy Casey Jr., Lindy Nichols, Fred Alpers, Pervis Blac and Sid Lott Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Reed Jr., Aubrey Childs, Randall Whitaker, Lane Stripling and members of Round Prairie Men's Sunday School Class.
Mr. Harrison was born Nov. 11, 1917 in Dew. He was a lifetime resident of Freestone County. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member and past commander of Fairfield VFW Post 5782, member of Palestine DAV and member of the American Legion. He was a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Emma Harrison; brother, Finis Harrison; and grandchildren, Carl Wayne Shamblin and Cynthia Shamblin.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Ivy Harrison of Fairfield; daughters, Sarah Shamblin of Fairfield and Emma Grace Mooney and husband Gary of Alvin; grandchildren, Mark Alan Mooney and wife Laura of Pearland, Sheri Glass and husband Jeff of Palestine and James Michael Shamblin of Fairfield; and great-grandchildren, Brittany, Carla and Madison Shamblin, Jonathan Mooney and Benjamin and Micah Glass.

James Lee Britton
James Lee Britton, 59, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Arlington Funeral Home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Arlington Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Britton was born Sept. 19, 1943 in Corsicana. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1961 and from Navarro Junior College in 1963. He attended Arlington State College from 1963 to 1964. He worked for the Arlington Independent School District for 33 years, retiring in April 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Parish Britton of Arlington; daughters, Laura Ortega and Jewel Christine May; brother, Loyd Ray Britton and wife Patti of Garland; granddaughters, Amber, Megan, Heather and Bethany; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Jessie Lee Hamilton
Jessie Lee Hamilton, 98, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chatfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry L. Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Chatfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mr. Hamilton was born May 25, 1904 in Shiro.
Survivors include his brother, Claude Isaac of Shiro; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews including Margaret Ricard, Sonji Duber, Delores Cooks and David Blairs; and special friends, Erma Smith and Walter Andrews.

Ernest C. Bryant Jr.
Ernest C. Bryant Jr., 85, of Duncanville and formerly of Streetman, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 in Dallas.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Brother Wayne Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman.
Pallbearers will be Don Vandiver, Donald Carroll, Erich Brown, Stanley King, Glen Dale Minze and Jeff Minze.
Mr. Bryant was born May 30, 1917 in Streetman to Ernest C. Bryant Sr. and Nora Evarts Bryant. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service, an official for the State Fair of Texas, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend, and celebrated 66 years of marriage Sept. 19 with his family in attendance.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Livingston Bryant; son, Ernest C. Bryant III and wife Darrene of Duncanville; daughter, Melanie June Elmore and husband Sonny of Garland; grandchildren, Gary Mace, Alan Mace, Cameron Bryant and wife Lisa, and Jason Bryant; and brother, Tommy Bryant.

Melanie Rose Kaiser, 22, of Corsicana passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 at her residence.

Ms. Kaiser was born July 4, 1980 in West Covina, Calif. to John Kaiser Jr. and Sandra Davis Kaiser.
Survivors include her father, John Kaiser Jr. of Palm Dale, Calif.; mother, Sandra Davis Kaiser of Corsicana; children, David, Jacob and Jessica, all of Corsicana; grandparents, Lena Davis of Corsicana and Betty Kaiser of California; brothers, John Kaiser III of San Diego, Calif. and Michael Kaiser of Palm Dale, Calif.; aunts, Brenda Kowalski of Dawson and Sharon Croger of Corsicana; uncles, Jerry and Andrea Davis of Corsicana, Del Kaiser of California, Ken Kowalski of Itasca and Dave Wachtelborn of California; and numerous cousins.

Lilly Alene Gay Thurston
Lilly Alene Gay Thurston, 82, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 at her son's residence.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Carey Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Crouch, Rusty Andrews, Chris Abbe, Clint Andrews, Lowell Hudson and Pat Gafford.
Mrs. Thurston was born Nov. 4, 1919 in Corsicana to Frank and Margaret Gay. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Kinsloe House. She was an antique and estate sale dealer for many years. She and her husband, Martin, established Martin Thurston Automotive Supply in 1957.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; and her granddaughter, Julie Crouch in 1984.
Survivors include her children, Joan and Jimmy Crouch of Grand Prairie, Robert and Becky Thurston of Corsicana, Marlene and Hollie Morrow of New York, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff and Melissa Crouch of Grand Prairie, Gayla and Rusty Andrews and Susan and Chris Abbe, all of Corsicana; and three great-grandchildren in whom she found great joy, Molly and Ben Crouch and Anna Abbe.

Zelma Prater McElroy
Zelma Prater McElroy, 89, of Tomball and formerly of Corsicana, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 in a Tomball hospital.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard. Interment will follow at Dawson Cemetery.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. McElroy was born Feb. 28, 1913 in Dawson. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church with her last membership at First United Methodist Church in Corsicana. She was a resident of Denver City for 33 years where her husband was employed with Shell Oil Company. They moved to Corsicana in 1980.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne McElroy Nov. 7, 1999.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Miller of Houston; grandson and family, Jeff and Angel Miller and their children Gunner and Payton of Jacksboro; granddaughter and family, Janet and Russell Stackhouse and children Abby, Emily and Katie of Houston; sisters, Evalena Delazzer of Granada Hills, Calif. and Betty Rose Walcott of Alamogordo, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.

Earl Dean Cook
Earl Dean Cook, 77, of Hemet, Calif. passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at Hemet Valley Medical Center.
Services were 10:30 a.m. today at McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet with the family to hold private graveside services at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was born Nov. 26, 1924 in Corsicana. He had lived in Hemet, Calif. for 11 years and had previously lived in Riverside, Calif. for 31 years. He was a self-employed contractor/painter all over Southern California for 25 years. He enjoyed music, played the guitar and liked to sing, loved dogs, target practice, fishing and cooking including making his own recipes, and loved to spend time with family.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Willow Jacqueline Cook of Hemet, Calif.; daughters, Sharon Shelton of Riverside, Calif., Judy Abshier of Hemet, Calif., and Denise Sloan of San Jacinto, Calif.; brother, Aubrey Cook of Marysville, Calif.; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter to be born in November.
