Floyd Monroe Herndon, 80, of Lanely passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002 at his residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Derrel Beggs officiating. Burial will be in Dew Cemetery in Dew.
Pallbearers will be Scott Hollister, Charles Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Mark Morgan, Marty Morgan, Paul Morgan and Jonathan Hollister. Honorary pallbearers will be Malcolm Hollister and Pervis Black.
He was born July 28, 1921 in Hugo, Okla. He was a pipe fitter for Houston No. 211 and a member of Heart of Texas Golden Eagle Travel Club. He was a Baptist and a World War II Army/Air Corp veteran.
Mr. Herndon was preceded in death by parents, James W. and Hester Herndon; sister, Ruby Emma Herndon; and brothers, Joe Leon, Ray Othell and James Lee Herndon.
Survivors include wife, Murrell Leslie Hollister Herndon of Lanely; daughters, Floy Deane and husband Glen Haddocks of Houston, Wanda and husband Dean Redding of Tyler and Rebecca and husband Charles Morgan of Lanely; nephew, Scott Hollister and wife Sandi of Lanely; brother, Winsel Ray Herndon of Memphis; sister, Vera Mae Peters of Abilene; grandchildren, J.W. Redding, Kelly Redding, Ryan Morgan, Mark Morgan, Marty Morgan, Paul Morgan, Kaylee Fryar, J.C. Hollister and Bradleigh Hollister; and great-grandchildren, Britney Morgan, Ethan Morgan, Seth Morgan, Brandon Morgan and Luke Morgan.

Mary Frances Awalt
Mary Frances Awalt, 87, of Fairfield passed away Monday, May 20, 2002 at her residence.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Capps Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mack Roller officiating. Interment will follow at Stewards Mill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Awalt, Jeff Awalt, Leslie Reid Bonner, Jesse Awalt, Keith Bentley and Keith Outlaw.
Mrs. Awalt was born Sept. 15, 1916 in Kirvin to Samuel and Lillie Simmons. She later moved to Streetman, where she attended school. She married Jesse Awalt Sept. 20, 1934. Mrs. Awalt retired from GTE in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Awalt; an infant son; sisters, Neva Belle Warren and Nannie Pearl Reed; and brothers, Reuis Simmons and Van Dean Simmons.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Sissy Awalt of Fairfield; daughter, Bobbie Bentley of Waco; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Thee Hospice of Fairfield or charity of one's choice in her name.

Baby Mahoney was born May 18, 2002.
Baby Mahoney was preceded in death by grandmother Debra Spitler.

Ira Lee Dyer, 84, passed away Oct. 3, 2001 in Ennis.

Mr. Dyer was born July 15, 1917 in Blooming Grove. He was owner of Airway Plumbing before he retired.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Doyle Dyer; stepson, Steve Richardson; sister, Evelena Pate; and brothers, Thomas and Buford Dyer.
Mr. Dyer is survived by his wife, Lola Dyer; sons, Charles Eugene Dyer and James Lee Dyer; daughter, Wanda Orphey; stepchildren, Eddie and David Richardson, Beth Vacek and Grace Largent; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, W.A. and Bennie Dyer; and sisters, Erma Grider, Emma Brewer, Henrietta Ellis and Joyce Humbert.

Idell Williams, 95, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 at Twilight Home.

Mrs. Williams was born Feb. 16, 1906 in Kosse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Williams; sisters and brothers, Oscar Ferrell, Bessie Speed Edwards, Cleo Speed, Henrietta Speed Wilson, Thelma Mae Speed Wynn, Velma Speed Means and Zummer "Buddy" Speed.

Mary E. Bluitt, 85, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Bluitt was born Dec. 25, 1915 in Winkler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Bluitt; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Presley; brothers, Bill Presley, Boston Presley, A.V. Presley; and sisters, Ruby Presley Bluitt and Bertie Mae Turner.
Survivors include her brother, Luke Turner of Bardwell; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Annie Mae Wormley Lewis
Annie Mae Wormley Lewis, 88, of Corsicana went to be with her Lord Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001. She passed away at her residence in Corsicana.
Wake services will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Ross and Johnson Mortuary.
Homegoing services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor K.D. Davis Sr. officiating and Pastor S.H. Jemerson as eulogist. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Corey Crawford, Theron Crawford, Terry Crawford, Chuckie Crawford, Micheal Collins II, AndrŽ Collins and William Collins III. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Denbow Jr., Willie Ballard Jr., Bennie Wren, Cedric Hood, Marvin Graves, Marcus Goff and grandsons.
Mrs. Lewis was born April 2, 1918 in Beaumont to Ruffin and Julia Wormley. She was employed at one time by the Corsicana Independent School District, was a domestic worker, and was self employed as a painted and carpenter with her husband Horace Lewis. She was a member of New Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Lewis; son, Johnnie B. Bonner Jr.; parents, four sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Edward Taylor Sr. of Corsicana; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Julia Williams of East Palo Alto, Calif., Jettie Ellison and Helen Bailey, both of Corsicana, and Ester Lee Dixon of Lufkin; nephews, Johnnie B. Calhoun, R.C. Calhoun and Wilburn Terry, all of Corsicana, and Nathaniel Calhoun of Hillsboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jim Smith
Jim Smith, 67, of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at Providence Hospital in Waco.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood with Brother Easton Turner and Brother Sam Bryson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Oakwood.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Smart and former Contel employees.
Mr. Smith was born Jan. 18, 1934 in Oakwood. He was a retired Contel installer, and did small engine repair. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Smith and Mary Davis Smith; twin brother, John Smith; brother, James Davis Smith; and sister, Shirley Stevens.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Wanda Kea Smith of Fairfield; daughters, Tammy Smith of Corpus Christi, Trinka Severn of Dayton and Nikki Lott of Fairfield; sons, Jimmy H. Smith of Louisville, Ky. and Johnny H. Smith of Austin; grandchildren, Angela Severn, Brittany Shambline, Dalton Severn and Meagan Lott; brothers, Jack Smith of Oakwood and Homer Smith of Palestine; and sisters, Gertrude Cortney, Lela Mae Soars and Billie Richmond, all of Oakwood, Margie Rains of Houston, Dale Adams and Rebecca Boyd, both of Palestine.
