E.M. "Popa" Combs, 82, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001 in Corsicana.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Corley Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Waldo Munn, Joey Smith, Joey Euell, Sidney Garland, Billy Graves and Michael Thomas.
Mr. Combs was born July 17, 1919 in Kerens.
He is survived by his daughters, Ann Owens and husband Phillip of Corsicana and Betty Brown of Waco; brother, Japen Owens of Bellmead; a host of grandchildren including Jimmy Easley and wife Michelle, Ronnie Easley and wife Patricia, all of Corsicana, and Cindy Almond and husband Billy of Navarro Mills; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Alton Allen
Alton Allen, 21, of Wortham passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001.
Services are pending with the Rev. James Prince officiating. Interment will be held at the family cemetery in Richland.
Pallbearers will be Michael Betts, Tim Thomas, Bobby Dixon, Chase Allen, Shannon Moring and Robert Hogan.
He was born March 2, 1980 in Plano to Jimmie and Debra Allen. He graduated from Wortham High School in 1998 and worked as a driller for the oil fields.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Allen; sons, Kane Allen and Xavier Allen; daughter, Paige Allen, all of Wortham; mother, Debra Allen of Richland; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hall of Corsicana; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Jaelynn of Kirvin; and nieces, Joci Allen and Meagan Allen of Kirvin.

Ira Lee Dyer
Ira Lee Dyer, 84, passed away Oct. 3, 2001 in Ennis.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. today at Restland Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Dennis officiating.
Mr. Dyer was born July 15, 1917 in Blooming Grove. He was owner of Airway Plumbing before he retired.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Doyle Dyer; stepson, Steve Richardson; sister, Evelena Pate; and brothers, Thomas and Buford Dyer.
Mr. Dyer is survived by his wife, Lola Dyer; sons, Charles Eugene Dyer and James Lee Dyer; daughter, Wanda Orphey; stepchildren, Eddie and David Richardson, Beth Vacek and Grace Largent; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, W.A. and Bennie Dyer; and sisters, Erma Grider, Emma Brewer, Henrietta Ellis and Joyce Humbert.

Idell Williams
Idell Williams, 95, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 at Twilight Home.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Ross and Johnson Chapel with Scott Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of the family.
Mrs. Williams was born Feb. 16, 1906 in Kosse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Williams; sisters and brothers, Oscar Ferrell, Bessie Speed Edwards, Cleo Speed, Henrietta Speed Wilson, Thelma Mae Speed Wynn, Velma Speed Means and Zummer "Buddy" Speed.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her sister, Lummer Speed Alexander of Corsicana; brother, Joe Wesley Speed of Italy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary E. Bluitt
Mary E. Bluitt, 85, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2001 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Ross and Johnson Chapel. Interment will follow at Green Briar Cemetery in Winkler.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mrs. Bluitt was born Dec. 25, 1915 in Winkler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Bluitt; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Presley; brothers, Bill Presley, Boston Presley, A.V. Presley; and sisters, Ruby Presley Bluitt and Bertie Mae Turner.
Survivors include her brother, Luke Turner of Bardwell; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Annie Mae Wormley Lewis
Annie Mae Wormley Lewis, 88, of Corsicana went to be with her Lord Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001. She passed away at her residence in Corsicana.
Homegoing services will be 3 p.m. today at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor K.D. Davis Sr. officiating and Pastor S.H. Jemerson as eulogist. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Corey Crawford, Theron Crawford, Terry Crawford, Chuckie Crawford, Micheal Collins II, AndrŽ Collins and William Collins III. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Denbow Jr., Willie Ballard Jr., Bennie Wren, Cedric Hood, Marvin Graves, Marcus Goff and grandsons.
Mrs. Lewis was born April 2, 1918 in Beaumont to Ruffin and Julia Wormley. She was employed at one time by the Corsicana Independent School District, was a domestic worker, and was self employed as a painted and carpenter with her husband Horace Lewis. She was a member of New Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Lewis; son, Johnnie B. Bonner Jr.; parents, four sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Edward Taylor Sr. of Corsicana; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Julia Williams of East Palo Alto, Calif., Jettie Ellison and Helen Bailey, both of Corsicana, and Ester Lee Dixon of Lufkin; nephews, Johnnie B. Calhoun, R.C. Calhoun and Wilburn Terry, all of Corsicana, and Nathaniel Calhoun of Hillsboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jim Smith
Jim Smith, 67, of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at Providence Hospital in Waco.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood with Brother Easton Turner and Brother Sam Bryson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Oakwood.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Smart and former Contel employees.
Mr. Smith was born Jan. 18, 1934 in Oakwood. He was a retired Contel installer, and did small engine repair. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Calvary Christian Center in Oakwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Smith and Mary Davis Smith; twin brother, John Smith; brother, James Davis Smith; and sister, Shirley Stevens.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Wanda Kea Smith of Fairfield; daughters, Tammy Smith of Corpus Christi, Trinka Severn of Dayton and Nikki Lott of Fairfield; sons, Jimmy H. Smith of Louisville, Ky. and Johnny H. Smith of Austin; grandchildren, Angela Severn, Brittany Shambline, Dalton Severn and Meagan Lott; brothers, Jack Smith of Oakwood and Homer Smith of Palestine; and sisters, Gertrude Cortney, Lela Mae Soars and Billie Richmond, all of Oakwood, Margie Rains of Houston, Dale Adams and Rebecca Boyd, both of Palestine.

Beulah Mae Mahaley
Beulah Mae Mahaley, 83, of Rice passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 in at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Corsicana.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Corley Funeral Chapel with Dr. David Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Rice Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Mahaley, Rustin Page, Robert Mahaley, Tom Johnson, Mike Pitz and Joe Atkeisson.
Mrs. Mahaley was born Oct. 23, 1919 in Grapeland to Robert and Alma Bobbitt. She was raised in Grapeland where she attended school. On Aug. 11, 1939 she married Dow Mahaley. After their marriage, they lived in Rice. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dow Mahaley on Nov. 30, 1977.
Survivors include her sons, Ronnie Mahaley and wife Pat of Hereford and Dan Mahaley of Ennis; daughters, Linda Warren and husband Charles, Janice Page and husband Bill and Joyce Bigger and husband Walter, all of Blooming Grove; brother, Merle Bobbitt and wife Hesta of Crockett; sister, Teresa Steed and husband Lacy of Montgomery; grandsons, Chad Mahaley of Hereford, Jeffery Kent of Amarillo, Robert Mahaley of Ennis and Rustin Page of Blooming Grove; granddaughters, Michelle Johnson and husband Tom of Corsicana, Jessica Bennett and Danita Mahaley, both of Ennis, Wendy Page, Stephanie Pitz and husband Mike and Amanda Atkeisson and husband Joe, all of Blooming Grove; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Charles Johnston, 42, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Harmony Baptist Church, 411 E. 12th Ave., with Bishop John Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
Mr. Johnston was born June 2, 1960 in Fort Worth.
Survivors include his mother, Jessie Hill of Corsicana; sisters, Valeria Clay of Corsicana and Sandra Means of Huntsville; brothers, Kevin Johnston and wife Amy of Austin; Isaac Johnston and wife Vanessa of Kansas and Kenneth Johnston of Corsicana; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
