Beatrice Howell
Beatrice Howell, 93, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at Navarro Regional Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger officiating assisted by Mrs. Howell's grandsons the Rev. David Murphy and the Rev. Glen Murphy. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Howell was born Oct. 11, 1908 in Nevada, Texas to John W. and Martha Jane Ross. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Howell; and grandson, Michael Atkeisson; and parents.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Truman and Millie Howell and James B. and Exa Howell, all of Corsicana, and Raymond and Martha Howell of Waxahachie; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Murphy, and Betty and Bobby Hicks, all of College Station, Mary and Raymond Paul of Corsicana, and Linda and Kent Wear of Garland; brother and sister-in-law, John Henry and Elner Ross of Farmersville; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Lacy Bell King
Lacy Bell King, 78, of Kerens passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at her residence.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at M.R. Smith Parlor for Funeral Homes.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel Washington officiating. Interment will follow at Samaria Cemetery.
Mrs. King was born Sept. 15, 1923 in Frankston.
She is survived by her brother Arthur Martin of Kerens and John Henry Willmam; sisters Ora Lee Womack of Tuscon, Ariz., Clarice Edwards of Fort Worth ad Katherine Johnson of Kerens; son Nathaniel Williams; grandchildren Nathan Faulk, Carol Jefferson, John Jefferson, Whortie Faulk and Vincent Faulk; three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Taylor C. Judson
Taylor C. Judson, 83, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2001.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.
Pallbearers will be Roy French, Willie Winters, Ned Polk, Dr. Keith Hill, Monty Brazell, Caleb Jackson, Howard Jackson and Jim Fortson.
Mr. Judson was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Dallas. He was a graduate of Sunset High School and North Texas State University in Denton. He joined the Marine Corps during World War II and was honored to be selected as a member of the United States Marine Corps Band. He was in the insurance business in El Paso, Waco and Corsicana. He was a retired insurance businessman and part owner of Cooper, Eady, Judson and Polk. He served on the boards for First United Methodist Church, Corsicana Country Club, Family Service and various committees for the welfare of Corsicana. He was a wonderful husband, father and a dear friend to many. All who knew him will miss his kindness and upbeat personality.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance S. Judson and Kate Butcher Judson; and son, David A. Judson.
Mr. Judson is survived by his wife, Martha Nell "Nellie" Judson; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Darlene Judson of Corsicana; grandsons, Matt Judson of Fort Worth and Jody Judson of Corsicana; and brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Jean Judson of Waco.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church or Dallas Scottish Rite Hospitals for Crippled Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, Texas 75219.

E.M. "Pop' Combs
E.M. "Popa" Combs, 82, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001 in Corsicana.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Honea and Rev. Lonnie Keele officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Waldo Munn, Joey Smith, Danny Euell, Sidney Garland, Billy Graves and Michael Thomas.
Mr. Combs was born July 17, 1919 in Kerens.
He is survived by his daughters, Ann Owens and husband Phillip of Corsicana and Betty Brown of Waco; brother, Japen Combs of Bellmead; a host of grandchildren including Jimmy Easley and wife Michelle, Ronnie Easley and wife Patricia, all of Corsicana, and Cindy Almond and husband Billy of Navarro Mills; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Mary E. Woods
Mary E. Woods, 76, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001 in Dallas.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday for family only at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Woods was born Feb. 7, 1925 in Corsicana. She was a housewife.
She is survived by husband H.B. Woods of Corsicana; daughter Judy Heard and husband Bob of Purdon; daughter Mary I. Woods of Garland; sister Charlene and husband Ed Norrell of Decatur, Ala.; and grandsons Jason Heard of Arlington and Matt Heard of Richardson.

Kenneth Ray Slater
Kenneth Ray Slater, 69, of Plano passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2001 in Plano.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Christ United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. in Frost.
Mr. Slater was born Dec. 22, 1931 in Frost. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University. He served in the Air Force for four years and while stationed in Biloxi, Miss. met his wife, Jane. They married in February of 1957. He then attended the University of Texas in Austin and received a degree in electrical engineering. He began working for Texas Instruments in 1960 in Dallas. He worked on a TI project at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. from 1983 to 1988. The family returned to Dallas where Ken retired from TI in 1997. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Plano.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Scruggs Slater of Corsicana; his wife of 44 years, Jane Carole Page Slater and daughter and son-in-law Karen and Mike Fryer, all of Plano; daughter Leslie Slater of Plano; and daughter and son-in-law Suzy and Troy Crowsey of Seven Points.

Alton Allen
Alton Allen, 21, of Wortham passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001.
Services are pending with the Rev. James Prince officiating. Interment will be held at the family cemetery in Richland.
Pallbearers will be Michael Betts, Tim Thomas, Bobby Dixon, Chase Allen, Shannon Moring and Robert Hogan.
He was born March 2, 1980 in Plano to Jimmie and Debra Allen. He graduated from Wortham High School in 1998 and worked as a driller for the oil fields.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Allen; sons, Kane Allen and Xavier Allen; daughter, Paige Allen, all of Wortham; mother, Debra Allen of Richland; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hall of Corsicana; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Jaelynn of Kirvin; and nieces, Joci Allen and Meagan Allen of Kirvin.
