Victor Horace Lyon
Services: Saturday, November 21; First Baptist Church of Aledo. Kenton Harvey and Lee Brewer officiating.
Interment: Brown Cemetery in Aledo.
Arrangements: Cotten-Bratton Funeral Chapel, Weatherford.
Victor Horace Lyon of Aledo died at his home Tuesday morning, November 19, 1998.
A resident of Parker County for more than 50 years, he was born February 10, 1909 in Prairie City, Missouri.
Mr. Lyon was an active leader in the Aledo community, a member of the Lions Club, and a past director of Aledo State Bank. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Aledo where he served for more than 40 years as a deacon.
A dairyman-farmer, Mr. Lyon was a member of the Texas Cattlemens Association.
Mr. Lyon is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Calvin and Mary Jo Lyon of Aledo. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Tommy Lyon and his wife Pam of Aledo; Darrell Joe Lyon of Benbrook; and Pam and her husband Terry Fuqua of Weatherford.
Survivors also include his brother, Vernon Lyon of Kansas City, Missouri, and one great-grandchild.

Odessa Perkins
Services: 2 p.m., Friday, November 20
First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Dr. J. Tom Shelton, Pastor officiating.
Interment: Perkins Ranch Cemetery in Poolville.
Memorials: Benevolence Fund of First Baptist Church in Weatherford.
Arrangments: White's Funeral Home, Weatherford, 596-4811.
Odessa Perkins, 64, of Poolville died at her residence on Wednesday, November 18, 1998.
She was born in Olney on October 25, 1934 to Carl E. Sipes and Oca Henry Sipes.
Mrs. Perkins graduated from Olney High School and married Bob Perkins on July 5, 1953.
She lived in Olney and Wichita Falls before moving to Weatherford in 1965. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, Bob Perkins of Weatherford and her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey K. and Marie Perkins of Weatherford.
She is also survived by her sister Clois E. Osborn of Weatherford; brother and sister-in-law, Larry E. and Kate Sipes of San Antonio; and by sisters-in-law Loretta Redus and husband Guy of Weatherford, Joyce Pollard and husband Bruce of Wichita Falls, Earline Cummings of Weatherford, and Kate Sipes of San Antonio.
Mrs. Perkins' survivors also include grandchildren Ashley and Robert Perkins of Weatherford, special friend Peggy Wellman Crider, several nieces, nephews and friends.

John Wesley Bray
John Wesley Bray,41, an office manager for George Bray and Associates, passed away July 22 at home.
Funeral is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, at Greenwood Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Memorials: Hudson Oaks Fire Department, in memory of John Wesley Bray.
John Wesley Bray was born April 2, 1959, in Fort Worth. John graduated from Aledo High School, where he played football, and attended John Tarleton State University. He was a member of Aledo United Methodist Church. He felt a deep commitment to serve his community and was a longtime member of both the Willow Park and Hudson Oaks Volunteer Fire Departments. The members of the two respective departments will serve as pallbearers and honor guards.
He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Bray, in 1983, and by his mother Nell R. Bray, in 1997.
John is survived by his sister, Barbara Bray Blue of Lilburn, Georgia; uncles, Lem Bray and his family, Paul Bray and his family; aunt, Alliene Shanks; and many friends in the fire department community whom he considered family and they likewise.

L.C. "Buddy" Cherry

Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park
L.C. "Buddy" Cherry, 73, died Friday, August 21, 1998, in Fort Worth after a lengthy struggle with heart disease.
He was born October 13, 1924 in St. Louis, Oklahoma and reared in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Mr. Cherry lived in the Fort Worth area for 53 years.
He retired from The Plumbers and Steamfitters Association where he was an estimator and job superintendent for mechanial contractors for more than 30 years.
After retirement, Mr. Cherry enjoyed many years of ranching until he developed heart problems.
An active member of the First Baptist Church of Willow Park, he served on the building committee and as a member of the Adult IV Sunday School Class.
He was a mason and a member of the Millsap Lodge #1265. He also performed with the Sensational Senior Singers as a trick roper.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Cherry of Weatherford; his daughter Debbie Gray and her husband Jack O. of Arlington; and his son Dr. Bruce Cherry and his wife Karen of Mansfield.
Survivors also include his granddaughters Melissa Gray of Arlington and Julia Cherry of Mansfield, and his grandson Blaine Gray of Arlington.
He is also survived by four brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The family requests that memorials be made to VITAS Hospice Unit at All Saints Hospital, 1400 8th Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas, 76104.

Charles Ray Cosgrove
Charles Pay Cosgrove, 60, a minister for Willow Park Church of Christ, died Saturday, April 14, in Weatherford.
Charles Ray Cosgrove was born October 14, 1940, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Oklahoma in 1963. He received masters work and teaching certificates from the University of Central Oklahoma. He was a minister for the Church of Christ since his graduation from college. He also taught English in Yukon, Oklahoma for nine years. Charles married Deloris Hanna of Fort Worth in 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Cosgrove of Willow Park; sons, Charles and Nell of Yukon, Oklahoma; daughter, Julie of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Taylor, Charles Grant, Katie and Conner of Yukon, Oklahoma; brothers, Neil Cosgrove of Yukon, Oklahoma, Owen Cosgrove of Waxahachie, and Don Cosgrove of Oklahoma City; sister, LaVerne Custer of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Greenwood Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Debbie Watkins Craig

Debbie Watkins Craig, 38, of Aledo, died on Tuesday, October 27, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born in Fort Worth on March 8, 1960.
Mrs. Craig was employed as at teacher at Aledo United Methodist Church. She was also a volunteer with the Aledo PTO and C.E.O.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Craig, and her two sons Chase Craig and Kirk Craig, all of Aledo. Survivors also include: her mother, Joy Watkins Searcy of Aledo; her father, Jerry Watkins of Aledo; her sister, Kathy Watkins of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and her grandmother, Mrs. Juanita "Dean" Blanton of Fort Worth.
Mrs. Craig is also survived by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Margaret Craig and her brother-in-law Phillip Craig all of Benbrook.
