Johnny Lane Storie
Johnny Lane Storie, 45, died in McCamey on May 18, 2006, following a battle with cancer.
Storie was a graduate of Western Hills High School and attended then Tarrant County Junior College. He was co-owner of H.H. Ranch in McCamey and was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman.
Survivors include wife Debbie; sons Lane, Jonathan, and Jacob, of McCamey; daughter Becky of San Angelo; parents Bill and Sandra Storie, of Aledo; brothers Neil, of Austin, Dale, of Temple, sister Rhonda, of Grapevine, Aunt Patricia Knight; and numbers other relatives and friends.
Funeral: 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at First Methodist Church in McCamey. Reverend Sheldon Johnson, of Brady, officiating.
Burial: H.H. Ranch.

Steele, Tommie A.
Tommie A. Steele, 81, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Steele, whose original name was Tamiko Abe, was born March 31, 1925, in Tokyo, Japan. She met her husband, Zack H. Steele, while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Japan.
The two were married in 1952 and had a son, Charles, in Sendai, Japan. Their next assignment took them to Fort Jackson, S.C., where they had a daughter, Julia. The Army sent them to assignments in Alaska, California, Germany and back to Fort Ord, Calif., where her husband later retired.
Zack and Tommie owned two restaurants in Seaside and Marina, Calif., in the 1970’s and early1980’s. In addition to this, Steele was a licensed real estate agent in California, as well as an artist. She moved to Fort Worth in 1990 and continued her painting.
Steele was a longtime member of an artist co-op in the Fort Worth, as well as a member of the Fort Worth Japanese Society. She was also a cook, gardener, artist and all-around creative person.
Steele was preceded in death by her husband, Zack H. Steele, in 1983.
Survivors include daughter, Julia Dunaway and husband, Steve; son Charles Steele and wife, Shannon; grandchildren Helen Olin and husband, Andy, Glenn Clancy and wife, Jessica, John David Stokes and Alexandra Stokes; great-grandchildren Grace Olin and Kyndal Trent-Stokes; sister, Yosuko Kato.
Memorial service: 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at Lake Country Church (7050 Lake Country Drive.)
Cherry, Lela Gilley
Lela Gilley "Mom" Cherry, 91, a loving mother and grandmother, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, in Azle.
Cherry was born August 14, 1914, to Will and Maud Gilley in Parker County. She and her husband were retired dairy farmers. She was also a life-long member, Sunday school teacher and member of the choir at Silver Creek United Methodist Church.
Cherry was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cherry, and her parents, Will and Maud Gilley.
Survivors include sons, Howard Cherry and wife Sandra of Agnes, Doyle Cherry and wife Theresa of League City, James Cherry and wife Kathy of Azle; daughters, Sharon Cherry Rogers of Weatherford and Glorene Cherry Roden and husband, Tommy of Millsap; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at White's Funeral Home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at White's Azle Chapel.
Burial: Veal Station Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cherry’s name to the Silver Creek United Methodist Church, 2200 Church Road, Azle, TX 76020.
Joyce Nunlee
Joyce Nunlee, 67, a loving mother and grandmother, died Monday, October 9, 2006 in Weatherford.
Nunlee was born May 13, 1939 to Sidney and Willie Miller in Fort Worth. She was a graduate of Azle High School and had been employed with Tandy Corp., General Dynamics and K-Mart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Nunlee, father, and brother, Marvin E. "Uncle B' Miller.
Survivors include sons, Rod Stewart and wife, Shelia of Azle and Terry Stewart and wife, Kayla of Springtown; step-sons, Bob Nunlee and wife, Pam of Fort Worth and Barry Nunlee of Weatherford; grandchildren, Saydonica, Krisi, Jason, Jeremy, Adam, Ryan, Alex and Claira; three great-grandchildren; mother, Willie B. "Memie" Davis of Springtown; and a host of loving family members and friends.
Funeral: 10 A.M. Thursday, Oct. 12 at White's Azle Chapel. Burial: Oran Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Keith Howard Edwards
Keith H. Edwards, 41, died Monday, October 9, 2006 in a Fort Worth hospital from a heart attack. Edwards was born in Escondido, Calif. October 6, 1965 to Howard and Jean Edwards.
Keith graduated from Weatherford High School in 1985 and went to work for General Dynamics. He was currently the service manager for Texas Air Conditioning in Weatherford.
He married Michelle Sikes in May 13, 2000 in Fredericksburg, Texas.
Edwards was a son, husband, brother and father. He was devoted to his sons Logan and Tyler and enjoyed attending his son, Tyler's Weatherford football games and helping Logan work on his 4x4 truck. Keith loved all outdoor activities.
Edwards was preceded in death by his father, Howard, sister, Julee Kaye and brother, David Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Edwards of Weatherford; sons, Logan Keith Edwards and Tyler Myles Edwards; mother, Jean Edwards of Weatherford; brother, Greg Edwards and Pebble of Weatherford, Jeff Edwards and wife, Donna of Weatherford; sister, Susan Rector and husband, Mark of Decatur; father and mother-in-law, Billy and Vicki Alcorn of Eden; sisters-in-law, Kim Bronaugh and husband, Brandon of Shiner, Jennifer Finstad of Abilene; brothers-in-law, Josh Alcorn of Brownwood and Jeremy Alcorn of Brownwood; nephew, Chad Edwards; nieces, Ashleigh Edwards, Taylor Rector, Haley Rector, and Syndey Hood; grandparents of wife Michelle, Virgil and Flo Vaughn.
The funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2006 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Weatherford. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Weatherford. The family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Ann Beasley
Ann Beasley, 74, a loving wife, mother and grandmother died Saturday, October 7, 2006 in Azle. Ann was born January 15, 1932 in New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to the late Dave and Lena McGinnis. She was a member of the Azle Christian Center.
Ann was preceded in death by her son, David Beasley and two sisters.
Surviving family members include her husband of 57 years, Paul Beasley of Azle; son Terry Beasley and wife, Sandra of River Oaks; daughter, Beverly Renios and husband, Paul of Boyd; granddaughters, Lori Holman of La. and Erica Guilbeau of Azle, Heather and Hannah Harvey of River Oaks; grandsons, Sergeant Brad Beasely of 4th Infantry U.S Army, Iraq, Shannon Dowdle of Azle, Coy Northington of Mt Gilead, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 10 at Ash Creek Cemetery. There will be visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home.
