Brian Marcus Cantrell
Brian Marcus Cantrell, 24, died Friday, August 18, 2006.
Cantrell was a devoted father, loving son, caring brother, and loved and respected by all who knew him. He was born into a family of five and baptized at First Baptist Church of Willow Park. He was a 2000 graduate of Aledo High School.
After an honorable discharge from the US Army, he worked as an installation technician for both Sound Idea and Partnership Wireless. He was devoted to his daughter, Ashlee.
Survivors include his parents, David and Kathy Cantrell; brother, Jeremy Cantrell; sister, Crystal Cantrell Noxon; children, Ashlee Marie Cantrell and her mother Lindsay Veal and another daughter, Zoe Nicole Rohr; grandparents, Jr and Faye Cantrell and Johanna Kelsey; and numerous other family and friends.
The funeral service was 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006 in Greenwood Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sweet Pea Fund #004886789813 c/o Bank of America.
Arrangements were handled by Greenwood Funeral Home.
Paul L. Auburg
Paul L. Auburg, 82, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 in a Weatherford nursing home.
Auburg was born January 16, 1924 in Lovington, New Mexico to Pastor Jesse Thomas Auburg and wife, Irene Burdett. He was a graduate of Brownfield High School and former owner of Sonny’s Grocery in Brownfield.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Auburg, and daughter, Sondra Auburg Johnson, both of Weatherford; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, TX is in charge of arrangements.
Nora E. May
Nora E. May, age 99, of Weatherford, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at a local hospital.
May was born August 1, 1907, in White Flats, Texas, the oldest of nine children to Sidney Claud and Mary Emily Bristow Dean. She worked for American Airlines for 23 years in charge of food services developing menus for all flights. After retirement, Nora moved back to Weatherford and volunteered her time in community education, Meals on Wheels, and in the hospital auxiliary. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was very active in teaching women’s Bible study classes for several years. She loved to serve family and friends in her home throughout her life. Above all, she loved and served her Lord God.
Survivors include her brother, Douglas Dean; sisters, Della Doty, Cecil Kingston, Janet Gregory; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Burial will follow in the East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at White’s Funeral Home in Weatherford.
Robert W. Marshall
Robert W. Marshall, 86, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in Azle.
Marshall was born April 9, 1920 in Dallas. He graduated from University of Texas as a CPA and from Southern Methodist University with a law degree. He served in the Army Air Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a wonderful man and will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him. He always had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make people smile
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betsy; children, Ann Marshall Vaughn and husband, David; Robert W. Marshall Jr. and wife Christy; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2006 at Oak Wood Cemetery in Fort Worth.
Bill Lee Moore
Bill Moore, 74, a retired systems analyst, died Sunday, August 13, 2006 at a Fort Worth hospital.
Moore was born September 15, 1931 in Denison, the son of Emery and Bethel Jackson Moore. He received an MBA from North Texas State College, now the University of North Texas. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a long time employee with the General Services Administration working as a systems analyst.
Moore attended the Senior Singles group at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth and was an avid square dancer, belonging to many square dance organizations in the area. He was also a volunteer for the Parker County Meals on Wheels program.
He is survived by his daughter, Sondra Petit and husband, David of Fort Worth; son, Jimmy Moore and wife, Flo of George West, Texas; grandchildren, Kristi, Michael, Steven, Jonathan, Cameron, Mason, and Colton; brother, Thomas Moore and wife, Mattie of Arlington; sister, Ann Baransy and husband, Marvin of Pensacola, Fla.; and special friend, Rose Ann Crawford of Fort Worth.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Weatherford.
Donald Wayne Harris
Donald Wayne Harris, 74, died Thursday, August 17, 2006.
Harris was born July 1, 1932 in Saltville, Va. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harris owned and operated Southwest Pipe and Supply for 42 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Harris is survived by his wife of 51 years, Edna Harris of Hudson Oaks; daughter, Diane deSteiguer and husband, Stewart of Weatherford; and grandson, Joshua deSteiguer. He is also survived by many friends and acquaintances.
A funeral service was held at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006 in the Annetta Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by White’s Funeral Home of Weatherford.
