Allen Robert Jennings of Aledo died early Saturday morning, September 26, 1998.
Mr. Jennings was born September 9, 1908 in Lacasa, Texas.
A resident of Aledo for the past 57 years, he and his wife owned and operated the Jennings Grocery Store on Front Street from 1959 to 1976.
In the late 1970's he retired from General Dynamics. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aledo and was known for his artistry and whittling.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wilma Jennings of Aledo; his son Derrell Jennings and his wife Doris of Weatherford; three daughters Fern Green and her husband Carl of Aledo, Linda Harris and her husband Mike of Brownwood, and Judy Storey and her husband Bobby of Fort Worth.
Mr. Jennings is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include: his brothers Charles Jennings of Eastland, Billy Jennings and his wife Edna of Wichita Falls, and Joe Jennings and his wife Myrtle of Mulberry, Florida; his sisters Grace Mann of Wichita Falls, Beatrice Cagle of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Patsy Stone and her husband Jack of Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by his siter Ira Sterling.

James T. "Jim" Jarrett, 73, of Weatherford died Wednesday, October 7, 1998 in a Round Rock, Texas, medical facility.
Mr. Jarrett was born in Hidalgo County near Mercedes on May 19, 1925.
He and his wife, Peggy Dixon Jarrett, lived and taught school in the Sharyland Community near Mission for 40 years before moving to Weatherford in 1991.
Mr. Jarrett was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years in June, 1993.
A graduate of Edcouch-Elsa High School and Texas A&M University, he was a veteran of World War II. He was also a life member of the VFW and the Texas Agriculture Teacher's Association.
Mr. Jarrett was a member of the Parker County Retired Teacher's Association, the Weatherford Kiwanis and the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his sisters Janice Jones of Round Rock and Bobbie Imlay of Lincroft, New Jersey and his five sons: Tom Jarrett of Itasca, Pat Jarrett of Weatherford, Jim H. Jarrett of Round Rock, Tad Jarrett of Mineral Wells and Joe Jarrett of Austin.
Survivors also include five grandchildren.

Ruth Imogene Jones, 87, of Aledo, died July 6, 1998 at a Fort Worth hospital.
She was born on October 1, 1910, in Stephenville, the daughter of Lillie Allen and John Robert Chenault.
A homemaker, Mrs. Jones lived in Lone Camp Community fo many years before she moved to Aledo. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her son, George Otis Jones, Jr., in 1948 and by her husband, George Otis Jones, in 1997.
She is survived by her children: Doyle Wayne Jones, Arlington; Marlin Daniel Jones, Aledo; Shirley Chenault, Weatherford; and Brenda Starks, Burleson.
She is also survived by her sister, Tollie Whitley Nall of Brazos.
Survivors also include: her grandchildren Allan Kendrick, Amy Fyock, Matthew Kendrick, Daniel Starks, Shaina Starks, Wayne Jones, Robert Otis Jones; her great-grandchildren Allanah Bennett and Charles Fyock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vida L. Jones, 83, of Willow Park died Friday, August 21, 1998 in a Fort Worth hospital.
She was born August 18, 1915 in Rule.
Mrs. Jones taught 16 years at Castleberry Elementary School and in Goree for two years. She retired after eight years as a Fort Worth I.S.D. teacher.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney James.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, W. Everett Jones of Willow Park and her son Gary Jon Jones and his wife Carolyn of Waxahachie.
Other survivors include grandchildren Jennifer of Waco and Anne of Waxahachie and great-grandchildren Kasey and Dustin, both of Waco. She is also survived by numerous nices and nephews.

Wilbur Kattner
Educator, Magician
Wilbur Kattner, 80, died Thursday, August 20, 1998 at a Fort Worth hospital. he was born September 13, 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Early in his career Mr. Kattner was a science, math and tumbling teacher and became a school principal. Later he was a metallurgist on the Manhattan Project.
In 1956 He moved to Fort Worth to work for Convair and retired in 1981.
He founded the Tri-City Symphony in Washington State and the International Society of Portuguese Philately.
Mr. Kattner was a lifetime member of the Fort Worth Magicians Club and the author of three magic books.
He is survived by his wife Fay Kattner and children Eric Kattner, Maura Lusk and her husband Ron, and Karen Frazier. Survivors also include his brother Loren Kattner and sister Joy Wilson as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
