Wilbur Kattner
Educator, Magician
Wilbur Kattner, 80, died Thursday, August 20, 1998 at a Fort Worth hospital. he was born September 13, 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Early in his career Mr. Kattner was a science, math and tumbling teacher and became a school principal. Later he was a metallurgist on the Manhattan Project.
In 1956 He moved to Fort Worth to work for Convair and retired in 1981.
He founded the Tri-City Symphony in Washington State and the International Society of Portuguese Philately.
Mr. Kattner was a lifetime member of the Fort Worth Magicians Club and the author of three magic books.
He is survived by his wife Fay Kattner and children Eric Kattner, Maura Lusk and her husband Ron, and Karen Frazier. Survivors also include his brother Loren Kattner and sister Joy Wilson as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Leroy Keck
Leroy Keck, age 66, of Slaton passed away Saturday, May 26, in Covenant Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Mr. Keck was born in Seymour on November 11, 1934, and graduated from Seymour High School in 1953. He married Eva Downes on July 29, 1960, in Vernon. He previously lived in Vernon and Lubbock before moving to Slaton in 1970.
He was an active member of the Slaton Tiger & Tigerette Booster Clubs and was the Department Head for Receiving in the TG&Y Warehouse in Lubbock. He previously worked for Ham's Food Mart and worked for West Mark Realtors in Building Maintenance & Landscape.
Survivors include his wife, Eva, of Slaton; son, Ben Keck of Lubbock; daughters, Susie Keck of Austin, Amy Keck of Plano; brother, Fred Keck of Weatherford; sister, Dorothy Barker of Fort Worth; nephews, Randy Keck of Aledo, Steve Keck of Houston, Rick Smith and Larry Barker of Fort Worth; niece, Carla Duke of Aledo; and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Slaton Meals on Wheels, 230 West Lynn St., Slaton, TX 79364

Linda Prince Kemp
Linda Joy Prince Kemp died Saturday, September 26, 1998, with her husband Joe when their private plane crashed in Parker County.
Mrs. Kemp was born December 4, 1940 in Fort Worth.
She devoted her life to the care of others. including her husband of 18 years, Hullen Prince, who preceded her in death. She cared for many elderly patients in their homes as a private sitter and companion.
Mr. Kemp and she were married last month at the Parker County Courthouse in Weatherford.
Mrs. Kemp was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Clayton Gouyton, her sister Nita Williams, her grandson Nathan Senne, and her first husband Hullen Prince.
She is survived by her children: Tim Norris and his wife Annette of Texarkana, Arkansas; Sam Norris and his wife Juli of Weatherford; Charlene Senne and her husband Carl of Aledo; Joy Ray and her husband Mike of DeQueen, Arkansas; Karen Jordan and her fiancee Kyle Davis of Aledo; Richard Killingsworth and his wife Tammy of Lake Worth; and Floyd Killingsworth and his fiancee Diane Tyner of Hudson Oaks.
She is also survived by her brothers: Clayton Gouyton and his wife Josie of Bedford and Roy Lee Gouyton and his wife Kay of Juneau, Alaska. Her survivors also include nine grandchildren and recent additions to her extended family: Judy Ferris and family of Weatherford, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Her memorial service was conducted as a part of her husband Joe's funeral service on Wednesday, September 28 in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville.
In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated and her remains will be scattered in Arkansas at a later date.

Victor Horace Lyon
Services: Saturday, November 21; First Baptist Church of Aledo. Kenton Harvey and Lee Brewer officiating.
Interment: Brown Cemetery in Aledo.
Arrangements: Cotten-Bratton Funeral Chapel, Weatherford.
Victor Horace Lyon of Aledo died at his home Tuesday morning, November 19, 1998.
A resident of Parker County for more than 50 years, he was born February 10, 1909 in Prairie City, Missouri.
Mr. Lyon was an active leader in the Aledo community, a member of the Lions Club, and a past director of Aledo State Bank. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Aledo where he served for more than 40 years as a deacon.
A dairyman-farmer, Mr. Lyon was a member of the Texas Cattlemens Association.
Mr. Lyon is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Calvin and Mary Jo Lyon of Aledo. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Tommy Lyon and his wife Pam of Aledo; Darrell Joe Lyon of Benbrook; and Pam and her husband Terry Fuqua of Weatherford.
Survivors also include his brother, Vernon Lyon of Kansas City, Missouri, and one great-grandchild.

Verna Jean McDougle
Verna Jean McDougle, 75, of Weatherford died October 19 in a local health facility. She was born in Granbury August 15, 1925 to the late Gilbert and Nora Trimble Lewis.
Mrs. McDougle attended school in Granbury. She married Thurman Robert McDougle in 1941, who preceded her in death December 1999. She was a longtime resident of Fort Worth area and moved to Weatherford in 1986. She was a member of the Willow Park Church of Christ.
She is survived by daughter, Robbie Jean Benton of Weatherford; sons Thurman Homer McDougle of Weatherford; Ronnie McDougle of Rockwall; six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and twin-brother, Vernon Dean "Buddy" Lewis of Granbury.

Howard J. Mixson
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 31, 1998; White's Funeral Home, Weatherford Texas.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 1; Aledo Church of Christ.
Interment: Aledo-Brown Cemetery

Howard J. Mixson, 76, of Willow Park, died Saturday, August 29, 1998 in a Fort Worth hospital.
Mr. Mixson was born in Lubbock on November 24, 1921. He grew up in west Texas and New Mexico and graduated from high school in Lipan.
He retired from General Dynamics in 1976 after 33 years of service. He devoted the following 20 years to Creative Imports, a floral supply business which he owned and operated with his wife and two children.
Mr. Mixson was a 32 year resident of Willow Park and a member of the Aledo Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mixson of Willow Park; his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Cathy Mixson of Keller; his daughter and son-in-law Renna and Jim Wood of Tolar; and his sister, Louise Pilkington of Mineral Wells.
He is also survived by grandsons Jim and Travis Wood of Fort Worth, Chris Mixson of Irving, and Hunter Mixson of Keller.
