Bob Johnson
1916-2003
Bob Johnson, a former resident of Hermleigh, died Monday, May 12.
Graveside service for Mr. Johnson, 87, was set for 4 p.m. today in the Englewood Cemetery with Dr. Cleve Kerby, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
Born May 1, 1916 in Whitt, Tex., he attended school in Newcastle. He married Maria Empson on Aug. 9, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nev. She died in 2 000.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, Mr. Johnson lived in Hermleigh for eight years before moving to Slaton.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Jennings of Louisville, Ky., and Mike Harvey of Slaton; three daughters, Susan Ingalls of Slaton, Kathy Fanelli of Raton, N.M., and Patricia Blake of Oak Harbor, Wash.; two sisters, Vida Dosior of Cresent, Okla., and Gay Hicks of Iowa Park; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Bobbie Marchel
1908-2003
Bobbie Lou Marchel, 95, died Wednesday, May 14, in Snyder Oaks Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Marchel will be cremated and a memorial service is planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 22, 1908 in Dangerfield, she married William Marchel in 1975 in Snyder. He died July 24, 1981. Mrs. Marchel was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.
Survivors include a daughter, Sallie Mae Peterson of Snyder; two sons, Curtis H. Thompson of Snyder and Billy Ray Thompson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Willingham
1927-2003
Olive Yvonne Willingham, 76, died Wednesday, May 14, at her home on the Colorado City highway after a sudden illness.
Graveside service is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Breckenridge Cemetery. The Rev. Sam Earp of North Park Assembly of God Church in Abilene will officiate where Mrs. Willingham was a member. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born March 20, 1927 in Brownwood, she married Barton C. Willingham on Oct. 16, 1994.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Martin Jr. in October 1972; and two brothers, Adrian and Alton Wesley.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Suzette Martin of Snyder, Jimmy and Shirley Martin of Plano and Billy and Reda Martin of Brownfield; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda and Ron Randolph and Samantha and Scott Cunningham, all of Snyder; a brother, Royce Wesley of Keller; four sisters, Deveda Watson of Woodson, Josie Colburn of Alabama, Juanita Procter of Santo, and Wanda Martin of Olton; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 this evening at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Thelma Woolsey
1915-2003
ROBY -- Thelma Faye Woolsey, 87, died Wednesday, May 14, in an Abilene hospital.
Funeral service for Mrs. Woolsey is set for 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church with Jerry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 2, 1915 in Camp Springs, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Minnie (Sheppard) Robertson. She graduated from Camp Springs High School and then lived the rest of her life in Fisher County.
She married Clem Huckaby in 1932. She married Ross Woolsey on Dec. 2, 1950.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Shirley June Miller; a son, Jack Huckaby; a granddaughter, Pamela Bockman; a great-grandson, Jimmy Whiteker; four sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and John Garner of Abilene and Sandra and Joe Cobb of Plains; a sister, Dorothy Clay of Odessa; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Jack Brown
1916-2003
J.O. “Jack” Brown, a former resident of Snyder, died May 10 in Junction.
A funeral service was held Tuesday in Junction and interment was held Friday in the Snyder Cemetery.
Born Dec. 21, 1926 in Edna, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Mary Tirrell on July 14, 1944 in Nolan County. The couple had one son, Billy, who was killed in an accident in 1960. Mrs. Brown died in an auto accident in 1985.
Mr. Brown is survived by his brother, Johnnie Brown of Aurora, Neb.; and nieces and nephews.
Patsy Stewart
1940-2003
Patsy Lee Stewart, a former resident of Snyder, died Saturday, April 5, in a Graham care center.
A funeral service for Mrs. Stewart, 62, was set for 2 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Edgar Jones of Graham officiating.
A graveside service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hermleigh Cemetery. Dale Huff, minister of the 37th Street Church of Christ, will officiate.
Born Dec. 4, 1940 in Graham, she married Roy Carl Stewart on March 31, 1978 in Snyder. A homemaker, Mrs. Stewart was a member of the 37th Street Church of Christ.
Her father, Sovola Eccless Herndon; and a sister, Barbara Kaye Herndon, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Carl Stewart of Snyder; her mother, Dora Pauline Herndon of Graham; two sisters, Margie Dean Mahany of Graham and Mary Joe McGeehee of Stonewall, Okla.; three brothers, Bobby Herndon, Clifford Herndon and Curtis Herndon, all of Graham, a sister-in-law, Ida Sue Phipps of Snyder; 10 nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bob Hammack
1925-2003
Bob Hammack, retired Chevron employee, died Monday, April 7, in Covenant Lakeside Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service for Mr. Hammack, 78, was set for 3 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church. The Revs. Miller Robinson and Ferris Akins were to officiate. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born March 22, 1925 in Hamilton County, and was reared in Comanche.
Mr. Hammack moved to Scurry County in 1949 with Pasotex Pipeline which later became Chevron Pipeline. When he retired after 43 years of service, he was area supervisor.
He married Jeanelle Tierce on June 24, 1961 in Winters.
Mr. Hammack was a member of the First Baptist Church, served as a deacon and was a member of the Renegade Sunday School Class and he was a member of Gideons International.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hammack; his in-laws, the Rev. and Mrs. J.S. Tierce; and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanelle Hammack of Snyder; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Shane Miller of Midland; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Marsha Hammack of Katy; four grandchildren, Myles and McKenna Hammack and Dalton and Mattie Miller; two brothers; and a sister.
Lela Jordan
1941-2003
ROSENBERG -- Lela Jordan, mother of Ellen Hall of Snyder, died Thursday, April 10, in Sugar Land.
Service for Mrs. Jordan, 61, is set for 10 a.m. Monday in Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Born Nov. 30, 1941 in Roswell, N.M., she was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Mary Tyson and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors also include three sons, Randall Carr of Richmond, Rodney Carr of Anton, Ed Jordan of Houston; another daughter, Mary Hernandez of Rosenberg; a son-in-law, Cary Hall of Snyder; a sister, Frances House of Reklaw; and 10 grandchildren.

Alan Rios

MIDLAND -- Alan Ray Rios, relative of several Scurry County residents, died Friday, April 11, in Midland Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Service for Mr. Rios, 28, is pending at Ellis Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 22, 1974 in Midland, Mr. Rios was a 1992 Midland Lee High School graduate.
Survivors include his parents, Andy and Aurora Rios of Midland; a brother, Arthur Lynn Rios of Midland; a sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Jarod McMorries of Parachute, Colo.; his grandparents, Nellie Rios of Snyder and Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Herrera of Hermleigh; his aunts and uncles, Sally and David Botts, Manny and Frances Rios, Josie and Jesse Hernandez, Bella and Lupe Lopez, all of Snyder; Tom Rios of Plano, Rick Rios of San Angelo and Rosie Vincent of Midland; aunts and uncles, Jesse and Anita Rios and Janie and Ted Mireles, all of Hermleigh, Bob and Frick of Dunn and Maria and Abel Galaviz of Austin; and 25 cousins.
