Bill Line
1923-2003
Bill Line, former longtime Snyder businessman, died this morning in Ruidoso after a brief illness.
Services for Mr. Line, 80, are pending at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1923 in Snyder and was co-owner of Line and Line Oil Co.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Line of Ruidoso; three daughters, Jo Ann Cotton and Nancy Lewis, both of Snyder, and Sue Ellen Harrigan of Austin; one son, Todd Line of Houston; and seven grandchildren.

Dubb Tubb
1931-2003
Dubb Tubb, a former Snyder resident, died Thursday, May 29, in Mitchell County Hospital after a sudden illness.
Mr. Tubb, 71, will be cremated. Family and friends will gather from 5-6:30 this evening at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home and proceed to the memorial service set for 7 p.m. in the Polar Tabernacle. Officiating will be Virgil Fiske, Mr. Tubb’s cousin and a Church of Christ minister.
Born Nov. 29, 1931 in Nineveh, Tex., he married Lynn York on Dec. 27, 1954 in Sweetwater. She died May 8, 1980.
Mr. Tubb, a resident of Loraine, was an artist and sculptor. He was involved in the horse business and a member of the AJRA.
Survivors include four daughters, Mandy Terry and husband Brent of Loraine, Shannon Tubb of Colorado City, Cheyenne Tubb of Arlington and Tiffany Tubb of Blackwell; a son, Barry Tubb of Snyder; a nephew, Ricky Trammel of Snyder; two sisters, Nellie Jo Smith of Snyder and Yvonne Gilbert and her husband Pete of Killeen; a brother, Jack Tubb and his wife Wanda of Farmington, N.M.; three grandchildren, Cyndi Terry and Casey Terry, both of Loraine, and Rainne Ruddick of Colorado City; and several other nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association of Texas, Box 26460 in Austin, 78755; West Texas Boys Ranch, 501 Ben Richey Dr. in Abilene, 79602; or the VA Hospital in Big Spring, 300 Veterans Blvd., Big Spring, 79720.

Katherine Smith
1919-2003
Katherine Elizabeth Smith, the mother of Charlotte Liles of Snyder, died Friday, May 30, in Tyler.
Graveside service for Mrs. Smith, 83, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Coahoma Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Dale officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Myers and Smith Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 14, 1919 in Alamogordo, N.M., she was married to Raymond Wayne Smith who preceded her in death. She moved to Coahoma in 1982 from Sweetwater and currently was living in Tyler.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and also worked at Walls Industries in Sweetwater. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Annie Tanner; a brother; one sister; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Smith of Tyler; three other daughters, Betty Estey of Pecos, Glenda Franke of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Clara Smith of Coahoma; three sisters, Lucille Donaldson and Helen Rose Wilgest, both of Oklahoma, and Julia Parshall of Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren.

Lou Chamblee
1931-2003
GEORGETOWN - Lou Ann Chamblee, a former Snyder resident, died Saturday, May 24, in Georgetown.
Private family graveside service for Mrs. Chamblee, 72, is set for Tuesday afternoon in Oakwook Cemetary Wewoka, Okla., with Chaplain Duane Baker officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1931 in McAlester, Okla., to Ross Isles Davis and Audrey May Thompson.
Mrs. Chamblee was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Snyder and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years George E. Chamblee Jr. of Georgetown; three sons, Ceorge E. Chamblee III of Dallas, Christopher Jon Chamblee and Geoffrey Isles Chamblee, both of Houston; one brother, Roger Craig Davis of Temple; and two grandchildren, Edward Isles Davis Chamblee and Ellen Page DiMaggio.

Eulala Ault
1914-2003
Eulala Ault, a native of Dunn, died Friday, May 23, in an Abilene hospital.
Service for Mrs. Ault, 88, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Baird Church of Christ. Bob Kiser and Joe Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ross Cemetery Annex directed by Parker Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ault, born Oct. 10, 1914 near Dunn, married Lynn Ault on Jan. 11, 1937 in Abilene. Living in Baird for 51 years, Mrs. Ault was a registered nurse and served as the Callahan County school nurse for 36 years before retiring. She was a member of the Baird Church of Christ and was active in civic affairs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Ault, in March 1994; and a son, Joe Lynn Ault Jr., on March 16, 1976.
Survivors include one son, Edwin G. Ault of Houston; one sister, Neva Brown of Moffit, Tex.; three sisters-in-law, Nita Bowley of Abilene, Carolyn Cotton of Clifton and Stella Cotton of Plano; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles Beasley
1936-2003
SAN SABA -- Charles “Bo” Beasley, a former resident of Snyder, died Sunday, May 25, in Abilene.
Funeral service for Mr. Beasley, 66, is set for 10 a.m. Friday in the Holt Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Snoddy, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Howell-Doran Funeral Home.
Born Sept. 23, 1936 in Eldorado, Okla., he married Marion Marie Crawford on Nov. 6, 1958 in Brady.
The family made their home in Snyder where Mr. Beasley worked in the oil field industry. After retirement, they moved to San Saba.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Alton Beasley; and a sister, Pat Evans.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Beasley of San Saba; his mother, Hazel Beasley of San Saba; a son, Michael Beasley of San Saba; a daughter, Susan Sewell of Richland Springs; and six grandchildren, including Krystal and Josh Beasley of Snyder.

Dale Jordan
1936-2003
SAN ANGELO -- Dale Jordan, the father of Rick Jordan of Snyder, died Sunday, May 25.
Funeral service for Mr. Jordan, 66, is set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Shupp officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Resthaven Cemetery in Brady.
Born Oct. 30, 1936 in Placid, Tex., Mr. Jordan worked most of his life as a consultant in the oil industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Velma Jordan; and two brothers, Dean and Elward Jordan.
Survivors also include his wife of 48 years, June Jordan of San Angelo; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Douglas Schweizer of High Point, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Trisha Jordan of Snyder; two brothers, Lewis Jordan of Brady and Wayland Jordan of Sugar Land; three grandchildren, Traci Jordan of Snyder, Christine Schweizer of San Angelo and Jordan Schweizer of High Point.

Delmer Browning
1924-2003
SPUR -- Delmer Browning, a native of Scurry County, died Tuesday, May 27, at his home in Girard.
Funeral service for Mr. Browning, 78, is set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Highway 70 Church of Christ in Spur with Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fluvanna Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Born July 3, 1924 in Fluvanna to Caleb and Eula Lavender Browning, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He married Lucy Webb on April 5, 1947 in Clairemont. A farmer and rancher in Girard, Mr. Browning was a member of the Highway 70 Church of Christ, had served on the Girard school board and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Browning of Girard; a son, Bruce Browning of Jayton; a daughter, Jennice Cargile of Spur; a sister, Thresa Jo Taylor of Girard; an uncle, Pete Browning of Snyder; and nine grandchildren.

Janet Smith
1961-2003
MIDLAND -- Janet Smith, 41, died Wednesday, May 28, at her home in Midland after a long battle with cancer.
She was the niece of Martha Gist of Snyder.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ellis Funeral Home.

Eldon Reeves
1918-2003
Eldon Maurice Reeves died Thursday, May 29, at his residence in Sweetwater.
Service for Mr. Reeves, 85, is set for 10 a.m. Monday in the Avondale Baptist Church. The Revs. Orvel Brantley and Clifton Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Born on Feb. 26, 1918 in Crowell, he married Evelyn Terry on May 10, 1961 in Lovington, N.M. A member of the Avondale Baptist Church, Mr. Reeves lived in Roby until moving to Sweetwater in 1960. He worked for the U.S. Gypsum Co. and then the Flintkote Gypsum Co. until he retired. After retirement, he opened a small tractor shop.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Reeves of Sweetwater; two daughters, Ann Case and husband Terry of Marble Falls, Betty Kamstra and husband Duane of Lancaster, Calif.; one son, Robert Reeves of Murchison; one sister, Alice Webster of Jal, N.M.; a brother-in-law, Bill Terry of Snyder; a nephew, Ron Terry of Hermleigh; and three grandchildren.
