Ella Mae Row
1916-2004
Funeral service for Ella Mae Row, 87, is set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charles Day, pastor of Ave. D Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Row died Friday, Jan. 30, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 18, 1916 in Vera, she married J.D. Row on Sept. 22, 1934 in Gouldbusk. He preceded her in death as did a daughter, Lawanna Vincent; two sons, Jerrell Wayne Row and Jackie Lynn Row; and two brothers, Chester and Arther Wade Machen.
Mrs. Row was a homemaker and was retired from Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ivone and Franklin Gilbert of Denton; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debra Row of Houston; a brother, Raymond Machen of Brownwood; four sisters, Ruth Faith of Del Rio, Alma Fay Trammell and Nettie Davis of Fort Worth; and Nancy Strickland of Gouldbusk; 13 grandchildren, Alan Row, Jeannie Robbins, Jason Row, Bryan Vincent, Britt Vincent, Brad Vincent, Javier Gilbert, J’Lynn Bradley, Corey Gilbert, Marcy Campos, Craig Row, Robin Burney and Casey Row; 15 great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Dale, Andy, Zack, Brianna, Emma, Savannah, Zane, Jordan, John David, Lindsey, Jadyn, Julian, Paige and Ian; and one great-great-grandchild, Maci Palacios.
Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Edward Fisk
1956-2004
FT. SMITH, Ark. -- Edward Fisk, owner and operator of Westside Phillips 66 for many years, died Friday, Jan. 9, in Ft. Smith.
Mr. Fisk was 47. His ashes will be laid to rest sometime in February and a memorial service will be held later.
Born on Jan. 23, 1956, Mr. Fisk was a current resident of Poteau, Okla., and had lived in Snyder from 1980-1991. He had attended Angelo State University and was a graduate of West Texas State University. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Fisk was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Price Fisk; his father, William Paul Fisk; and a brother, Gerold LeRoy Fisk.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Fisk of Bokoshe, Okla.; a daughter, Rebecca Fisk of Poteau; a stepson, Jeffrey Price of Poteau; and three grandchildren.
Maxie McNew
1911-2004
Mary Maxie McNew, a retired school cafeteria manager, died Sunday, April 25, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Service for Mrs. McNew, 92, is set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mike Henson, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Born Oct. 1, 1911 in Mitchell County, she married J.O. McNew on Dec. 26, 1927 in Big Spring. He died April 21, 1983.
Mrs. McNew was cafeteria manager at Central Elementary for many years. She was past worthy patron of Eastern Star, had served on the Martha Ann Woman’s Club board, was named Woman of the Year as a member of the American Business Women’s Association, and had been a member of the Twilight Garden Club. She also was active in the Senior Citizens Center and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a daughter-in-law, Mary McNew in January 1991.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don and Jackie McNew of Snyder and Charles McNew of Mountain Home, Ark.; a sister, Blanche Berry of Garden Grove, Calif.; four grandchildren and spouses, Julia and Randy Reed, Lisa and Glenn Roberts, all of Round Rock, Joanna and Sam Lefler of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Charles McNew Jr. of Columbia, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church or to the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center.
Family visitation will be held from 7-8 this evening at the funeral home.
Evelyn Wesley
1947-2004
Evelyn Wesley, a former Snyder resident, died Sunday, April 25, in Bender Terrace in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service for Mrs. Wesley 56, is set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. A brother, the Rev. Carl Braziel of San Antonio, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Born May 5, 1947 in Taylor, Mrs. Wesley was a homemaker and had worked at the Plaza Restaurant for many years.
Three brothers, Luther, Rufus and Nappy Braziel; and one sister, Geneva Tealer, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Jamal Wesley of Chickasha, Okla., Anthony Wesley and Baron Wesley, both of Monahans, and James Wesley of San Angelo; three sisters, Ida Mae Nelson of Odessa, Burdie Anderson and Mozelle James, both of Snyder; two other brothers, Robert “Cat” Braziel of Snyder, and Bill Braziel of Pompano, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren.
Kenneth Lynch
1936-2004
Kenneth Ray Lynch, a former Snyder resident, died Monday, April 26, in Carl Hayden VA Hospital in Phoenix.
Service for Mr. Lynch, 68, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bell-Cypert Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Michael Howard of Oklahoma, formerly of Snyder, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Snyder Cemetery.
Born Feb. 11, 1936 in Snyder, Mr. Lynch was a guitarist.
His parents, John and Ethel Lynch; and two sisters, Ruth Land and Dorothy Lynch, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Tracy Alan Lynch of San Angelo, Christopher Lynch of Fort Worth and John Val Lynch of Globe, Ariz.; four daughters, Beverly Diggs of Snyder, Peggy Radelle Bird of Pleasant Grove, Patty Lunelle Southard of Flower Mound and Natalie Jo Sabastian of Globe, Ariz.; two sisters, Johnnie Murl Molinare of Snyder and Mary Helen Cunningham of Pecos; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family visitation is set for 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Judy Adkins

ROTAN -- Julia “Judy” Joe Adkins, mother of Sandy Nichols of Snyder, died Saturday, April 24, in Abilene.
Service for Mrs. Adkins, 75, is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Rotan with Randy Evans and Dutch Parks officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 3, 1929 in Kent County, she married Charles “Chuck” Lamar Adkins in 1952 in Snyder. Mrs. Adkins worked at Allsup’s for 25 years and at the same time she worked at Rotan Healthcare Center for 10 years. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vollie and Sarah Reynolds Shipp; her husband, Chuck Adkins in 1974; a son, Billy Don Adkins in 1987; and a brother, Charles Shipp.
Survivors also include a son, Charles Clay Endgate Adkins of Abilene; a son-in-law, Dean Nichols of Snyder; three brothers, Dean Shipp of Friona, Delbert Shipp of Seminole and Buddy Shipp of Childress; and seven grandchildren.
Family visitation is set for 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.
Jerry Bob Lloyd

GOODING, Idaho -- Jerry Bob Lloyd, a Snyder native, died Wednesday, April 21, following a heart attack while driving a truck near Winnemucca, Nev.
Memorial service for Mr. Lloyd, 67, is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday in Gooding Demaray Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Born Aug. 9, 1936 in Snyder, he married Lavell Hart on May 11, 1956 in Snyder. He was a 1954 graduate of Snyder High School.
He was a resident of Payette, Idaho and formerly lived in Gooding, Idaho. He was employed by Montana Express.
His parents, Raymond and Leta Lloyd; two brothers, Carl Ray Lloyd and Jimmy Don Lloyd, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Lavell Lloyd of Payette; three sons, Greg Lloyd of Albuquerque, Tony Lloyd and wife, Laurie, of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, and Doug Lloyd of Payette; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Roger Casch of Oxbow, Ore.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eltine and Truett Vines and Pat and Jimmie Cornett, all of Snyder, and Dot and Lane Beaty of Odessa; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Weldon Lloyd of Robert Lee, Keith and Carol Lloyd of Loraine, and Joe and Gale Lloyd of Kerrville; two aunts, Lorena Gibson of Snyder and Ivy Woods of San Angelo; several nephews and nieces, including Donnie Lloyd of Snyder; and six grandchildren.
Lola Wagner

Lola L. Wagner of Snyder died Tuesday, April 20, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Service for Mrs. Wagner, 46, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Wright Colonial Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Bobbie Woods, retired pastor of the Church of God. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Born Sept. 15, 1957 in Fort Worth, she married David Wagner on Nov. 27, 1978. Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
Her parents, Leon and Jewel Dean Tuggle; a son, Lucus B. Wagner; and a brother, Sam Tuggle, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, David Wagner of Snyder; three daughters and a son-in-law, Christina Wagner and Alicia Wagner, both of Snyder, and Deanna Rae and David Kincheloe of Odessa; a son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Alicia Wagner of Snyder; a brother, Bobby Tuggle of Clyde; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
