Clyce Floyd Miller, a retired railroad depot clerk, died Friday, Aug. 4, following a brief illness.
Services for Mr. Miller, 67, are pending at Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Born Sept. 9, 1932 in Seymour, he married Mary Frances Russell on Sept. 30, 1951 in Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Miller of Snyder; a son, Steve Miller of Snyder; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Miller of Snyder; his mother, Letha May Miller of Burkburnett; two sisters, Martha Rainwater of Spencer, W. Va., and Vivian Greschel of Burkburnett; three grandchildren, Alesha Miller, Jeremy Miller and Michelle Miller.
Maxell Porter
1933-2000
Maxell Porter, 66, died Friday, Aug. 4, in Snyder Oaks Care Center.
Funeral service for Mr. Porter was set for 2 p.m. today in the McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. The Rev. Ivy Shelton, pastor of Second Baptist Church, was to officiate. Burial was to follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
Born Aug. 23, 1933 in Fayette, Ala., he married Biddie Guyton on Jan. 23, 1954 in Fayette. She died on Aug. 26, 1995.
He moved to Andrews in 1956 and worked for Union Oil Company for 36 years. He moved to Odessa in 1996. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Smith of Lubbock and Darla Stevenson of Odessa; three sisters, Francis Norris, Opal Porter and Chestin Pollard, all of Winfield, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
Joe Martin

COLORADO CITY – Joe Floyd Martin, a former Scurry County resident, died Sunday, Aug. 6, in a Bridgeport nursing center.
Services for Mr. Martin, 87, are pending at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 22, 1912 in Knox County, Mr. Martin was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and he later worked at the Texas Electric power plant at Lake Colorado City.
Mr. Martin was a member of the 22nd and Austin Street Church of Christ where he had served as an elder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hall Martin.
Survivors include two daughters, Dixie Holland of Paradise and Linda Clark of Abilene; a son, Larry Martin of Colorado City; a sister, Nettie Faye Gillespie of Marble Falls; and three brothers, I.E. Martin of Snyder, Bill Martin of Colorado City and formerly of Snyder, and Frank Martin of Lufkin.
Willie Bogle

HAMLIN - Willie Bogle, a former resident of Snyder, died Thursday, Aug. 3, in a Cleburne hospital.
Funeral service for Mr. Bogle, 72, was set for 4 p.m. today in the Church of the Nazarene in Hamlin with the Revs. Phillip Brown and Darryl Lackey officiating. Burial was to follow in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Born in Hamlin, he was the son of the late Richard “Dan” and Martha Clawson Bogle. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he married Odessa Boren on July 5, 1946 in Hamlin. She died in 1996.
Mr. Bogle was a retired construction supervisor and had lived in Hamlin and Snyder before moving to Cleburne in 1990.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Dan Bogle.
Survivors include one son, Willie “Bill” Bogle of Cleburne; three daughters, Betty Davis of Keene, Sonya Brumit of Cleburne and Nancy Brown of Stuarts Craft, Va.; five brothers, R.T. Bogle of Lubbock, Johnny Bogle of Stamford, Leon Bogle and Joe Bogle, both of Hamlin, and Charles Bogle of Hattesville; three sisters, Ruby Traughber, Rose Mary Butler and JoAnn Bogle, all of Hamlin; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

RUIDOSO, N.M. – Margaret “Granny” McDaniel, a former Snyder resident, died Saturday, Aug. 5, in Ruidoso.
Graveside service for Mrs. McDaniel, 74, was set for 10 a.m. today in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
Born Dec. 2, 1925 in Stanton, she moved to Ruidoso from Snyder in 1958.
A homemaker, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Rushing.
Survivors include five sons, Victor Rushing and Kenny Johnson, both of Snyder, Harold Rushing of Ruidoso Downs, Billy Rushing of Plainview and Ricky Johnson of Ruidoso; a daughter, Deretha Rushing of Ruidoso; seven brothers, B.C. Guynes of Wickett, Billy Guynes, Donnie Guynes, Ray Guynes, Walter Guynes and Tommy Guynes, all of Snyder, J.T. Guynes of Alto; two sisters, Sue Lock and Shirley Hazel, both of Snyder; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Gracie Fowler

Gracie Louise Fowler, a longtime Snyder resident, died at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
Services for Mrs. Fowler, 84, are pending at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 28, 1915 in Cheek, Okla., she was married to Henry Edmond Fowler on Oct. 14, 1933 in Muleshoe. He died Feb. 26, 1991.
Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Louise Westbrook of Snyder and Henrietta Henson of Meadow; two sons, Joe Fowler of Snyder and the Rev. Eldon Fowler of Dover, Del.; one sister, Martha Roberts of Monahans; two brothers, Odis McNeme of Odessa and D.W. McNeme of Monahans; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
O.H. Wilkinson

Funeral service for O.H. Wilkinson of Snyder is set for 10 a.m. Friday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Tom Holcomb, minister of East Side Church of Christ, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Kermit Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Wilkinson, 90, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born on Feb. 5, 1910 in Kaufman County, Mr. Wilkinson married Louise Mitchell on June 16, 1931 in Post. She died in 1983.
Mr. Wilkinson moved to Snyder in 1952 and to Kermit in 1960. He was a truck driver in the oilfield and worked for Winkler County for a number of years. He returned to Snyder in 1994 and had also lived in the Colorado City area.
Mr. Wilkinson was a member of East Side Church of Christ.
He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Johnnie Lou Guynes; and two sons, Orba H. Wilkinson Jr. and Howard Ray Wilkinson.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Judy Wilkinson of Snyder and Vernon and Betty Wilkinson of Atoka, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
