Kenneth Stewart
1941-2004
IRVING -- Kenneth Stewart, the brother of Betty Zajicek and Linda Treadway of Snyder, died Sunday, Jan. 25, at his home in Grand Prairie.
Services for Mr. Stewart, 62, are pending with Ben F. Brown Memorial Funeral Home.
Born June 9, 1941, Mr. Stewart was a graduate of Snyder High School and served eight years in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ethel Stewart; and a sister, Pat Jones.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Stewart and Kenny Stewart, both of Irving; a daughter, Betty Tate of Rhome; a brother, Jerry Stewart of Gresham; another sister, Brenda Worthington of Gatesville; and three grandchildren.
Glyn Murphy
1918-2004
BRECKENRIDGE -- Glyn Ed Murphy, a former area resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, in Hendrick’s Medical Center in Abilene.
A memorial service for Mr. Murphy, 85, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Morehart Mortuary Chapel in Breckenridge. Cremation is planned.
Born Dec. 1, 1918 in Snyder to W. Ed and Frieda von Roeder Murphy, he was reared in Borden County and attended school in Gail before graduating from Ranger High School. He attended Texas Tech University and served as a master sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Murphy was a rancher and also owned a vending machine business, moving to Breckenridge from House, N.M. in 1955. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Elks Lodge.
His parents, a son and a brother preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Gerry Cockrell of Abilene; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Desley Murphy of Sidney, Australia; two brothers, Brent Murphy of Snyder and Bruce Murphy of New Mexico; and four grandchildren, Lynzey, Matt, Mareesha and Louis Murphy, all of Australia.
Memorials may be made to the Stephens County Memorial Hospital or to the Breckenridge Elks Lodge.
Mrs. Niedermayer
1926-2004
BIG SPRING -- Earline Dorothy Kohl Niedermayer, sister of Alfred A. Kohl of Snyder, died Sunday, Jan. 18, in Comanche Trail Nursing Home.
Service for Mrs. Niedermayer, 77, is set for 3 p.m. Friday in the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Revs. Wayne Frost of Big Spring and Mark Cattau of Dallas officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 2, 1926 in Harrold, she graduated from Harrold High School and Concordia Teacher’s College in River Forest, Ill. She was a Lutheran schoolteacher for 15 years in Hickory, N.C., Houston, Fort Worth and Amarillo. Following her retirement, she was secretary to the president of Pioneer Gas in Amarillo for many years.
She married Joseph Van Niedermayer on June 10, 1961 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death as did her parents, Albert G. and Bertha Lutz Kohl; and a stepson, Neil Niedermayer.
Survivors include another brother and his wife, Carroll and Leighrene Kohl of Big Spring; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Kohl of Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth Eades
1919-2004
Anna Ruth Eades, lifetime Snyder resident, died Thursday, Jan. 29, in Doctors Hospital in Dallas after a lengthy illness.
Graveside service for Mrs. Eades, 84, is set for 4 p.m. Sunday in the Snyder Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Day, pastor of Ave. D Baptist Church, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born May 18, 1919 in Snyder, she married Joe W. Eades on Jan. 24, 1943 in Colorado City. He died April 12, 1976.
Mrs. Eades was a food service supervisor for the Snyder ISD for many years and was a lifelong member of Snyder’s First Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Keller; and a daughter, JoAnne Ritchie.
Survivors include a sister, Marian Mangum of Plano; a granddaughter, Jane Kirby of Dallas; a grandson and his wife, Michael and Becky Kirby of Commerce; six great-grandchildren, Michael Kirby Jr., Kyle Kirby, Bradyn Kirby, Zina Brewer, Anfisa Brewer and Eliana Brewer, all of Commerce, and several nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be held from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Ella Row
1916-2004
Funeral service for Ella Mae Row, 87, is set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charles Day, pastor of Ave. D Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Row died Thursday, Jan. 29, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 18, 1916 in Vera, she married J.D. Row on Sept. 22, 1934 in Gouldbusk. He preceded her in death as did a daughter, Lawanna Vincent; two sons, Jerrell Wayne Row and Jackie Lynn Row; and two brothers, Chester and Arther Wade Machen.
Mrs. Row was a homemaker and was retired from Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ivone and Franklin Gilbert of Denton; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debra Row of Houston; a brother, Raymond Machen of Brownwood; four sisters, Ruth Faith of Del Rio, Alma Fay Trammell and Nettie Davis of Fort Worth; and Nancy Strickland of Gouldbusk; 13 grandchildren, Alan Row, Jeannie Robbins, Jason Row, Bryan Vincent, Britt Vincent, Brad Vincent, Javier Gilbert, J’Lynn Bradley, Corey Gilbert, Marcey Campos, Craig Row, Robin Burney and Casey Row; 15 great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Dale, Andy, Zack, Brianna, Emma, Savannah, Zane, Jordan, John David, Lindsey, Jadyn, Julian, Paige and Ian; and one great-great-grandchild, Maci Palacios.
Hub Evans
1926-2004
Hub Evans, longtime Snyder resident, died Sunday, Jan. 25, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a brief illness.
Graveside service for Mr. Evans, 77, is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillside Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Miller Robinson, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Born March 25, 1926 in Nacogdoches, he married Evelyn Wilson on Jan. 16, 1961 in Carlsbad, N.M. Mr. Evans was a route salesman for Borden Dairy Company for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine 4th Division, and fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Mr. Evans was a coach and umpire in Little League and was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church.
A daughter, Tammy Evans, and a brother, Joe Evans, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Evans of Snyder; a daughter and son-in-law, Sammie and Gary Poe of Snyder; two sons, Neil Evans of Snyder and Gary Don Evans of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Janice Smith of Abilene; two brothers, Allen Evans of Thurber and Jim Evans of McAllen; four grandchildren, Amber and Austin Lyle of Snyder, Zac Evans of Fort Worth and Troy Evans of Midland; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Ervin of Snyder; four great-grandchildren; and special friends, Doug and Jo Flynn of Snyder, Paul and Brigette Thompson and sons of Snyder, Bobby and Betty Wilson of Irving and Keith and Ruby Lea Wilson of Lehigh Acres, Fla.
Kaoru McDill

Graveside service for Kaoru Yamada McDill of Lubbock was held today in Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. McDill, 70, died Sunday, Jan. 25, in Covenant Lakeside Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1933 in Tokyo.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Kenady of Lubbock and Connie Goodman of Houston; two sons, Glenn McDill and Danny McDill, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Kollin Kenady, Chandler Kenady, Clayton Kenady, Clarke Goodman, Coulter Goodman, Caitlin Goodman, Ceeci Goodman and Chloe Goodman.
Elmer Justus
1920-2004
AMARILLO -- Elmer Odell Justus, brother of Lavelle Eicke of Snyder, died Saturday, Jan. 24, in Amarillo.
Memorial service for Mr. Justus, 84, was held today in the Bell Avenue Church of Christ. Officiating was John McMath and Glen Walton.
Born on Jan. 10, 1920 in Greer County, Okla., Mr. Justus was in the military from 1942 to 1946 serving as a cook in the Army in India. He was a member of the Golden Glove Boxers and was vice president of the 45-and-up group.
His parents, Charlie Thomas and Kiddie Ray Justus; his wife, Dorothy Atchison Justus; a son, Kenneth Odell Justus; and two brothers, Otis and Arron Justus, preceded him in death.
Survivors also include his wife, Helen Justus of Amarillo; a daughter, Yvonne Ward of Arlington; a son, David Franklin Justus of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Eural T. Justus of Lubbock and O. Ray Justus of Crosbyton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a stepdaughter; five step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Rainwater
1944-2004
CONROE -- Services are pending at the Addison-Smith Funeral Home for William Albert Rainwater, the nephew of Thula Whatley and Mildred Browne of Snyder.
Mr. Rainwater, 59, died Friday, Jan. 23.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tinsley Rainwater; and a daughter, Tennie Rainwater.
Survivors include a son, Malcolm Rainwater of Midland; his mother, Edna Gordon of Montgomery; two brothers, Jerry and Giles Rainwater; and three grandchildren.
