Rhoda Lou Rehders

Rhoda Lou Rehders, 74, died Wednesday, November 19, in San Antonio.
Mrs. Rehders was born July 24, 1929, in Jayton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sue Kelley; a sister, Claudine Peebles; and a great-grandson, Jackson Tibbels. She taught school for 20 years for the Hobbs and Andrews school systems until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Lucian Rehders of Brackettville; four sons, Dr. Kelley Tibbels and wife Sandy of Decatur, Kent Tibbels and wife Aria of San Antonio, Kirkland Tibbels of Los Angeles, Calif., and John G. Rehders and wife Shirley of Santa Fe, N.M.; six daughters, Kathy Nichols and husband Kim of Coahoma, Kayla Colley of Austin, Susan Schimberg and husband Bill of Delaware, Ohio, Michele McBriarty and husband Denis of Orlando, Fla., Maria Swingson and husband Carl of Wanamingo, Minn., and Rebecca Johnson and husband Russell of Indian Springs, N.M.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, November 24, at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church in Jayton, with the Rev. Keith Wiseman officiating. Burial was in Jayton Cemetery in Jayton.
James T. Ulan

Funeral services for James Thomas Ulan, 77, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor, and Rev. Jimmy Braswell, Chaplain of Home Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Old Cemetery.
James died Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at Home Hospice House in Odessa following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 16, 1926, in Sulphur, La., to Michael and Vivian Ulan. He married Vera Smith on February 15, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas. The couple moved to Andrews in 1959, where Mr. Ulan worked for Exxon, retiring after 35 years with the company in 1986 as a field superintendent. He enjoyed retirement and traveling. The couple moved to Tyler after retirement then later to El Paso and had lived in Midland for four years.
Survivors include his wife, Vera, of Midland; son, Michael Ulan of Waco; two daughters, Deborah Ulan Martin and her husband, Archie, and Karen Ulan Thomas and her husband, James, both of Andrews; one sister: Lil Allen of Henderson, Texas; six grandchildren, including Robin Martin Harper of Andrews, Shanon Martin Jefcoats of Canyon and formerly of Andrews, Jarod Thomas of Lubbock and Tres Thomas of Midland; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Brian Jefcoats, Jason Harper, Tres Thomas, Jarod Thomas, Larry Ragland and Max Mainord.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Hospice House, 903 North Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761.
Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Lillie Criner

Graveside services for Lillie Criner, 86, of Terrell, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 27, in the Andrews Old Cemetery in Andrews with Brandon Criner of Dallas officiating.
Mrs. Criner died Thursday, October 23, at Terrell Healthcare Center in Terrell.
She was born January 11, 1917, in Comanche. She was married to Buck Criner Sr. on June 14, 1933, in Ardmore, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 28, 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church in Andrews.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Criner of Andrews, J.B. Criner of Crandall, and Buck Criner Jr. of Terrell; a brother, Kyle Tanner of Tulare, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Graveside services for Linda Kay Lewis, 54, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2003 in the Andrews Old Cemetery with Rev. Bob Zap of Andrews officiating.
Family will receive friends at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews on Friday, November 28, 2003 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
She died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at the Home Hospice House in Odessa.
She was born January 29, 1949 to Charley Clinton Johnston and Wanda Jo Boyd Johnston in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Putnam High School in Bethany, Oklahoma in 1968. She attended the University of Oklahoma. She married Paul Lewis on March 15, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They moved to Andrews in 1993 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She had worked for Waste Control Specialists in Andrews for 5 years as a customer service representative. She enjoyed watching and attending her son's baseball games. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elaine Nicholson.
She is survived by her husband: Paul Lewis of Andrews; 1 son: P.J. Lewis of Andrews; 2 stepchildren: Shay Ray Lewis of Houston and Donna Kay Lee of Andrews; 1 brother: Jimmie Clinton Johnston of Bethany, Oklahoma; Best Friends: Tammy and Linda Porter of Andrews; 4 grandchildren: Aaron Lewis, Shayna Jo Lewis, Damon Lee, Heather Lee; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Jessica Melisia Gonzales, 31, of Andrews died Friday, August 15, in The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Rosary services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 17, in McNett Funeral Home. Funeral mass was held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 18, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Burial was in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gonzales was born May 15, 1972, in Andrews. She was a life-long resident of Andrews. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Millan of Andrews; a son, Michael Jesus Gonzales of Andrews; a sister, Christina Gonzales of Andrews; a grandmother, Isabel Cornejo of Andrews; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Terry Wimberley

Funeral services for Terry Jack Wimberley, 51, of Andrews will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 7, at Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews with the Rev. Rick Doyle, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery in Andrews.
Mr. Wimberley died Wednesday, September 3, in Andrews.
He was born January 5, 1952, in Big Lake. He was a life-long resident of Andrews. He owned and operated Terry's Plumbing for seven years. He was a member and sergeant at arms of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse - Permian Basin Chapter).
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wimberley in 1972; and stepfather, Bob Hyden in 2001.
Survivors include a son, Joshua Wimberley of Houston; two daughters, Keri Watson of Coleman and Jillian Burt of Andrews; his mother, Maxine Hyden of Andrews; two sisters, Deanna Jordan of Odessa and Karen Wimberley of Pflugerville; his fiancé, Kimberly Easter of Andrews; and six grandchildren.

Services for Chris Irwin, 23, of Dublin, Texas, formerly of Andrews, will be at 10 a.m. Monday November 24, in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cory Ross and the Rev. Trey Jonnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
Chris died near Dublin on November 21.
He was born on August 26, 1980, in Andrews. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1998. He was awarded academic excellence award while attending AHS. He had attended Odessa College and was active with the Rodeo Team. He was a student at Tarleton State University, where he was also active with the Rodeo Team, he was to graduate from Tarleton on December 13, 2003. He was active in Rodeo circuits having won many awards.
Survivors include his parents, Doug and Terry Irwin of Andrews; a brother, Coy Hunter Irwin of Crane; and his grandparents, Gene and Hattie Irwin of Andrews, and Joyce and C.W. Mann Bailey of Oxford, Fla.

Heath Hamilton

Services for Heath Hamilton, 31, of Dublin, Texas, formerly of Andrews, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Donnell officiating. Burial will in the Andrews West Cemetery.
Heath died near Dublin Friday, November 21. He was born in Andrews on December 28, 1971. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1990. He was active with the 4-H club in high school. He attended Odessa College where he was active with the Rodeo Team. He was attending Tarleton State University and was active there with the Rodeo Team. He was World Champion in the American Junior Rodeo Association.
Survivors include his wife, Faith Hamilton of Gail; a daughter, Allie Hamilton of Gail; his parents, Beverly Hamilton of Midland, and Gene Hamilton of Andrews; a brother, Roland Hamilton of Houston; a sister, Leah McCarver of Andrews; and his grandmother, Jen Pittman of Andrews. A brother Randy Kyle Hamilton preceded him in death on April 27, 1993.

O. D. Huckabee
O. D. Huckabee, 89, of Midland died Sunday, November 23, at a Stanton care facility.
Mr. Huckabee was born March 10, 1914, in Snyder, the son of James Huckabee and Lillie Mae Lewis Huckabee, and grew up in Brownfield where he graduated from Brownfield High School and later attended Texas Tech. In 1935, he was married to Lucille Robertson in Tatum, N.M. The couple moved various times, finally settling in Andrews in 1947. He along with his wife owned and operated Lucille’s Dress Shop in Andrews and in Midland. They sold the Andrews shop in 1975 to concentrate on the Midland shop, which they operated until the mid-nineties.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday school class; Ranchland Hills Country Club, past president of Andrews Country Club, 32nd Degree Mason of Lodge 1024 in Andrews, and was one of the founders of the American Junior Rodeo Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters; and his son, Ron “Coach” Huckabee on September 24, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Huckabee of Midland; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Huckabee of Midland; two grandsons; a granddaughter; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Bond of Brownfield.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Hopkins officiating. Interment were in Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
