David Alan Hendrick, 57, died Saturday, Feb. 4, in Temple.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, at First Christian Church in Llano. Services are under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home of Llano.
Hendrick was born in Pittsburg on Aug. 31, 1948, to Thomas and Dorothy Murdoch Hendrick. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1966, where he was on the state-winning debate team.
He graduated from the University of Texas Business School with a degree in statistics and served as a captain in the army reserves.
During his career as a business consultant, he worked at Brown and Root, Arthur Anderson, and Stone and Webster and spent several years as co-owner of ESH Consulting in Houston. He retired to Tow in 2000.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Llano and was serving as board secretary at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include a daughter, Christina Burket of Sugarland; his mother, Dorothy Hendrick of Tow; and a sister, Lynda Hendrick of Seguin.

Funeral services for Amber Linn Menefee, 21, of Andrews were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Andrews Church of Christ with Mark Wilson of Andrews, the Rev. Juluis Brooks of Midland and the Rev. Bennie Anderson of Canyon officiating. Burial followed in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in An-drews.
Amber died Saturday, Feb. 11, in an automobile accident in Lubbock.
She was born December 11, 1984, in Midland to Brenda Joyce Menefee and Melton Coleman Conaway, Jr. She was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 2003, where she earned numerous awards and achievements and was an all-around athlete.
She graduated from South Plains College in Levelland with an Associate of Arts degree in general disciplinary studies in December 2005, where she was on the Dean’s Honor Roll, where she carried a 3.42 grade point average and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa International and National Honor Society. She was currently attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she was majoring in early childhood education.
She worked part-time at Olive Garden Restaurant in Lubbock. She attended the Andrews Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Earl Menefee, Sr., in 2003.
She is survived by her mother, Brenda Menefee of Andrews; her father, Melton Conaway, Jr. of Andrews; her grandmother, Annie Mae Menefee of Andrews; her grandfather, Melton Conaway, Sr. of Andrews; six sisters, Tiffany Menefee, Tressa Brown and Charlotte Conaway, all of Odessa, Tameka Conaway of Vernon, Shaneka Conaway of Abilene and Sebrena Roberson of Dallas; five brothers, Jason Menefee of Abilene, Michael and Victor Conaway of Denver, Colo., Melton Conaway, III of Andrews and Joe Willie Jones of Round Rock.
Honorary pallbearers for the service will be the AHS class of 2003.

Horace Phelps

Masonic graveside services for Horace Phelps, 95, of Andrews were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Andrews Old Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Doyle, pastor of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews and the Andrews Masonic Lodge #1024 officiating.
Horace passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
He was born Jan. 16, 1911, in Anson to John B. Phelps and Sue Tarpley Phelps.
He moved to Andrews in 1955 with wife, Marjorie, and son, Lewis. While in Andrews, Horace spent most of his time working at Cass Electric, where he always had a story to tell and a cup of coffee to go with it.
Horace was a lifetime member of the Andrews Masonic Lodge #1024, having been a member for over 50 years. He was also a 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite, as well as a Shriner at the El Maida Shrine of El Paso.
For many years, he was a member of the Andrews Mesquite Burners of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce. He also worked with the Andrews High School Band Booster’s Club as well as serving as its president for more than one year.
Horace was a long-time member of Means Memorial Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, a brother and his wife of 62 years, Marjorie, on August 12, 2005.
He is survived by his son, Lewis Phelps, of Quinlan.

Graveside services for Sidney Meeks, 68, of Andrews were held Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Andrews North Cemetery with Rick Doyle officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa.
Sidney passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
He entered this life on Thursday, March 25, 1937, in Ripley, Tippah County, Miss., the youngest of seven born to the late Dan and Elizabeth (Hall) Meeks.
He retired as a field supervisor from Pool Company in 1997 after 32 years of service.
An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening, and he was a member of the Andrews Bass Club. He served as past Scoutmaster and Cubmaster and was an envoy member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1972.
He was a hard worker who loved his granddaughter.
Those left behind to cherish his love and memories include his wife, Tillie Meeks of Andrews; two sons, John Daniel Meeks of Mineral Wells and Roger Wayne Meeks and wife, Jeanette, of San Angelo; a brother, Hall Meeks of Walnut, Miss.; a sister, Sybyl Settlemire of Ripley, Miss.; and a granddaughter, Pamela Alexandria Meeks of San Angelo.

Isabel Cornejo

Isabel Cornejo, 78, of Andrews died Monday, March 20, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. Father Emilio Sosa of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland will officiate.
Cornejo was born July 7, 1927, in Big Foot. She married Inez Cornejo in 1943 in Pearsall. They moved to Andrews in 1946 from Big Foot.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews and was a homemaker.
Survivors include five sons, Inez Cornejo, Jr., Richard Cornejo, Earnest Cornejo, Jesus Cornejo and Ruben Cornejo, all of Andrews; three daughters, Paula Gonzales, Mary Lopez and Tina Calderon, all of Andrews; a brother, Lino Munoz of Andrews; 31 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Will Edd Waldrop

Funeral services for Will Edd Waldrop, 60, of Hen-nessey, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at Hennessey Church of Christ with Billy Horton and Lanny Hobe officiating. Services were under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home in Hennessey.
Services will also be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 12, at Andrews Church of Christ in Andrews. Burial will follow in Andrews Old Cemetery, under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Waldrop died Monday, May 8, after a brief battle with leukemia.
He was born in Sundown on March 28, 1946, to J.T. and Leona Estelle Campbell Waldrop. He was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School.
He married Janice Norman in Odessa in 1977 and began working for Stoehr Wire Rope of Odessa, relocating in 1981 to Hennessey.
He was a member of Hennessey Church of Christ and Hennessey Lions Club. He was captain and longtime member of the Hennessey Fire Department and had been on the town council since 1992.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Billy Edd Waldrop.
Survivors include his wife of Hennessey; four daughters, Lauri Petrolia and Donna Waldrop of Hennessey, Lisa Adkins of Collierville, Tenn., and Kayla Waldrop of Enid, Okla.; two sons, Kenny Waldrop of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Justin Waldrop of Hennessey; a brother, Jay Waldrop of Andrews; two sisters, Jane Vining and Myrle Price of Andrews; and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hennessey Rose Rock Bank Waldrop Fund, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Hennessey Church of Christ.
Janice Slack

Janice Slack, 79, of Granbury died Saturday, May 6, in Granbury.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 8, at Rocky Point Baptist Church in Stephenville with the Rev. Gary Ward officiating. Burial was in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville under the direction of Lacy Funeral Home of Stephenville.
Slack was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Smackover, Ark., to George and Lola (Hopper) McGee. She married Ray Slack on March 9, 1945, in Minden, La.
She was a former resident of Andrews and a member of the Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 21, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Pete Slack of Granbury and Gayle Slack of Odessa; a brother, Cal McGee of Stephenville; a sister, Doshie Mathis of Broussard, La.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
