Mr. Brister
Funeral services for lifelong Lampasas County resident George Tom Brister, 88, of Lometa are July 23, 2004, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lometa. Burial will follow at Senterfitt Cemetery near Lometa.
Mr. Brister died July 20 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
He was born June 12, 1916, in Scallorn, to Raymond Jefferson and Elizabeth Fox Brister.
Mr. Brister married Velma Frances Johnson on Oct. 14, 1939, in San Saba. They were married for nearly 65 years.
He served for a brief time in the U.S. Navy during 1945, and was a self-employed truck driver, farmer and rancher.
Mr. Brister was a member of First Baptist Church of Lometa and the Lometa American Legion. He was reared in Senterfitt in Lampasas County.
Survivors include his wife of Lometa; a son, Rayford Brister, of Lometa; daughters, Patricia Dorsey, and husband, Tommy, of Pasadena, Texas, Judy McDonald, of Fort Worth, Janice Brister, of Houston, Nelda Kammlah, and husband, Mike, of Austin, and Tico Hicks, and husband, Tommy, of Lometa; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Sammy Brister, in 1973; by three sisters, Mary Lee Scott, Janie Mae Hall and Jewell Norris; and by one brother, Samuel Brister.
Pallbearers are Michael McDonald, Sammy Brister, Christopher Dorsey, Matthew Kammlah, Mason Kammlah and Douglas Brister.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, American Kidney Foundation or to Senterfitt Cemetery Association.

Miss Cabrera
Funeral services for Andrea Brooke Hooten-Cabrera, 13, of Austin are July 23, 2004, at 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Lampasas with Pastor Keri Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Kempner City Cemetery.
Miss Cabrera died July 20 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
She was born Aug. 4, 1990, in Killeen to Michael Cabrera and Lorena Hooten. She had resided the past year in Austin where she recently graduated with honors from Dessau Middle School where she was active in cheerleading, track and choir.
Prior to that, she had resided in Lampasas and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society while in the seventh-grade at Lampasas Middle School.
Miss Cabrera attended First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her father of Pflugerville; her mother of Lampasas; two sisters, Megan and Veronica, of Lampasas; grandparents, Jorge and Rose Cabrera, of Killeen, and Ron and Paula Hooten, of Lampasas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Buckner
Graveside services for Jerry Michael Buckner, 51, of Lometa were June 8, 2002, at Lometa City Cemetery with Pastor Preston Lindsey officiating.
Mr. Buckner died May 30.
He is survived by a son, Brian Michael Buckner; brothers, Mark Biggs and Larry Biggs; sisters, Sherry Biggs, Donna Biggs and Linda Shuey; and an uncle Danny Ware.

Mr. Cassidy
Funeral services for William Patrick Cassidy, 79, of Lampasas were June 10, 2002, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Phillips officiating. Burial followed at Townsen Cemetery near Adamsville.
Mr. Cassidy died June 9 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Rochester, N.Y., the son of William and Ruth Key Cassidy.
He married Marie Greer on March 22, 1945, in Florida.
Mr. Cassidy was a rancher in Adamsville for the past 38 years. He was a member of Berean Christadelphian Church and had lived in the community since 1998, moving from Star.
He is survived by his wife of Lampasas; one son and his wife, Harry and Cindy Cassidy, of Magnolia; two grandchildren, Wendy Medders, of Magnolia, and Patrick Cassidy, of Justin; and two great-grandchildren, Leigh Medders and Jarrett Medders, both of Magnolia.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Fowler.

Mr. Hartmann
Funeral services for Rodney Frank Hartmann, 50, of Lampasas were June 8, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Harnan officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hartmann died June 6 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
He was born June 22, 1951, in Fredericksburg, the son of Max and Theresa Hartmann.
He married Connie Harkey on Oct. 19, 1974, in Harper.
Mr. Hartmann was owner of RH Mechanical Contractors in Lampasas.
He was a member of the Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid hunter, fisherman and cook.
Mr. Hartmann was active in the Lampasas chapter of the American Heart Association and the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce. He helped with the Lampasas County Courthouse restoration.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had been a Lampasas resident since 1971.
He is survived by his wife of Lampasas; his mother of Fredericksburg; a brother and his wife, Lynn and Suzanne Hartmann, of Fredericksburg; a sister and husband, Raynette and Quint Bratcher, of Harper; a sister-in-law and her husband, Debbie and Jerry Blakley, of Lampasas; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tommy and Vernette Harkey, of Lampasas; and nieces and nephews, Randy Thorp, Evan Blakley, Kelsey Bratcher, Tanya Bratcher, Kayla Hartmann, Jacob Hartmann and Jordan Hartmann.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Mrs. Long
Dorothy Christine Long, 78, of Lampasas died June 3, 2002, at her residence in Lampasas County.
A memorial graveside service will be June 12, at 10 a.m. at Kingsland Cemetery in Kingsland with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. The body will be cremated, and the remains buried.
Mrs. Long was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Munday, Texas.
She married Louie Long on April 10, 1942, in Burnet.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker and a Baptist. She had moved to Lampasas from Kingsland in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin Long, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joe Long, of Garland; two daughters, Terry Gibbons, of Sunrise Beach, Texas, and Pat Sweet, of Lampasas; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; by nine brothers; two sisters; and one child.

Mrs. McGregor
Funeral services for Frances Lee McGregor, 91, of Lampasas were June 8, 2002, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. McGregor died June 6 at a Georgetown hospital.
She was born Sept. 21, 1910, at Bartlett, the daughter of Eldridge B. and Catherine Annie Gaedke Sherman.
She married G.A. McGregor in 1938.
Mrs. McGregor was a retired telephone operator with Southwestern Bell. She was a member of the Easter Star.
During her life, she traveled to many places, including India, China, Africa, Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, the Panama Canal and Canada.
She was a Methodist and had lived in Lampasas since 1938.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky Merida, and husband, Ted, of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Moore, and husband, Bill, of Milltown, N.J., and Ruth Ann Thompson, of Georgetown; one brother, Milo Sherman, of Tennessee; one sister, Ruth Baggett, of Fort Worth; six grandchildren, Al Bowles, Cathy Jaskiewicz, Christine Hiljus, Jessica McCarty, Jason Merida and Wade Merida; and five great-grandchildren, Alysha Bowles, Ashley Jaskiewicz, Audrey Hiljus, Rebecca Hiljus and Sara Hiljus.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; and by two sisters, Anne Goss and Catherine "Kitty" Jung.
The family requested memorials be made to the Lampasas Public Library.

Rainwater infant
Funeral services for Neelie Ruth Rainwater, 7-month-old daughter of Mark and Torrie Veazey Rainwater of Kempner, are June 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pidcoke Cemetery.
The infant died June 5 at a Temple hospital.
She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Koal and Levi; and grandparents, Billy Hugh and Margaret Veazey, of Gatesville, and Bill and Jean Rainwater, of Kempner.
