Mr. Faubion
Funeral services for J.E. Faubion 81, of Lampasas are Sept. 23, 2003, at First Assembly of God in Lampasas. The Rev. Keri Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Ireland Cemetery at Ireland in Coryell County.
Mr. Faubion died Sept. 20 in Lampasas.
He was born in Paducah, Texas, to Joseph Eugene and Alice Pearl Enochs Faubion.
Mr. Faubion was reared in Ireland, Texas, where he graduated from high school. He attended college in Champaign, Ill.
Mr. Faubion was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He married Alvis Beatrice Caver on March 17, 1945, in Renton, Wash.
He was a journeyman/technician for Champion International Paper Co. for 28 years.
Mr. Faubion moved to Lampasas in 1978 from Highlands.
He is survived by his wife of Lampasas; a daughter, Lynette Bertrand, and husband, Jerry, of Lampasas; a son, Jerry Faubion, and wife, Laura, of Lampasas; one sister, Alice Davis, of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; and a brother, Walter Faubion, of Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Frank Faubion; a daughter-in-law, Debie; and two grandchildren, Shane and Wendie Faubion.

Mr. Velasquez
Joe Gonzalez Velasquez Sr., 94, of Lampasas died Sept. 20, 2003, in Lampasas.
Funeral Mass will be Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas with the Rev. James Harnan officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Velasquez was born Nov. 21, 1908, in Johnson City, to Mariano and Petra Gonzalez Velasquez.
He was a custodian for a hospital and nursing home.
Survivors include a son, Joe Velasquez Jr., of Lampasas; a niece who was raised by Mr. Velasquez, Lydia Serrano, of Killeen, and her son, Timothy Velasquez of Killeen, later adopted by Mr. Velasquez; two sisters, Catarina V. Gonzalez, of Lampasas, and Maria Baladez, of Temple; five grandchildren, Maria Aguilar, and husband, Gerardo "Jerry," Esther Langley, Rosenda Vargas, and husband, Robert, and Joe Andrew Velasquez, and wife, Mary, all of Lampasas; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Walton
Robbie Moore Walton died Sept. 19, 2003.
Funeral services were Sept. 22 at Dodson Funeral Home in Lampasas with Norman Suhr officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Walton was born Jan. 30, 1913, in Grundyville near Rumley, to John W. and Martha Clark Moore Jr.
She and her sister were orphaned at an early age and were reared by their aunt, Lula A. Moore, in the School Creek Community.
Her grandparents, John W. and Sara Bobo Moore Sr. and Harry and Amy Cox Clark were all early day Lampasas County settlers.
Mrs. Walton graduated from Lampasas High School. She attended Mary Hardin-Baylor and Texas Tech and graduated from Daniel Baker College in Brownwood.
She taught for one year at the Unity School. She married Horace Grant Walton of Lometa on Aug. 1, 1936, and they made their home on their ranch east of Lometa.
Mrs. Walton was a member of Lometa United Methodist Church and a former member of the Lometa Garden Club.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Glen and Kathy Walton; a daughter, Florence Ann Walton; three grandchildren, Richard Walton, Kyle Walton and Erin Eller; a great-granddaughter, Anna Eller; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; an infant son, James William Walton, in 1949; and a sister, Jean Burns, in 1996.

Mrs. Werlinger
Jo Nell Werlinger, 67, of Sugar Land died Sept. 29, 2002.
Funeral services are Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Charismatic Center in Houston. Burial will follow Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
She was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Lampasas, where she was reared and educated, graduating from Lampasas High School. She was the daughter of Ennis and Florence Talley.
Mrs. Werlinger was in the first graduating class of Central Texas College. She taught nursing for 18 years at Del Mar Junior College. She was a professor of nursing, director of nursing at Temple Junior College, a member of St. Paul's Apostle Catholic Church of Flour Bluff.
She married Alfred Werlinger Dec. 14, 1951, in Lampasas.
She is survived by her husband of Sugar Land; five sons, Dan Werlinger, of Waxahachie, Don Werlinger, of Sugar Land, Dean Werlinger, of Lampasas, Joe Werlinger, of Austin, and Dale Werlinger, of Hearne; two daughters, Diane Werlinger, of Sugar Land, and Ja Nell Jackman, of Clear Lake; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Judy Talley.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Werlinger and David Werlinger.

Mr. Werlinger
Alfred Andrew Werlinger, 75, died Sept. 20, 2003, at Nassau Bay, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Burial will follow Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mr. Werlinger was born Aug. 13, 1928, in Shields, N.D., to Clara and Englebert Werlinger.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired electrician.
Survivors include daughters, Diane Werlinger and Janell Jackman, and husband, Brett; sons, Dan Werlinger, and wife, Terri, Don Werlinger, and wife, Cindi, Dean Werlinger, Joe Werlinger, and wife, Lella Jo, and Dale Werlinger; sisters, Helen Patterson, Cecilia Hanzlick and Veronica Calvert; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jo Nell; a brother, Michael Werlinger; and sons, Mark Werlinger and David Werlinger.

Mr. Grimes
William C. "Bill" Grimes, 60, of Lampasas died Aug. 6, 2003, in Borger.
A memorial service was held Aug. 8 at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Terry Stegall officiating. The body was cremated.
Mr. Grimes was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Ness City, Kan., and had been a resident of Borger since 1986.
He was an operator for Phillips Refinery and was a member of Local Union No. 351. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Grimes, of Borger; a son, Kelly Grimes, of Great Bend, Kan.; his father, Glenn Grimes, of Lampasas; and a brother, Ronnie Alexander, of Lampasas.

Mrs. Turney
VonDean Henderson Turney, 68, died Aug. 2, 2003, at her residence in Haysville, Kan.
Funeral services were Aug. 5 at Smith Mortuary in Haysville with Edward Rogers, her son-in-law, officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Oatville, Kan.
Mrs. Turney was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Lampasas County, the daughter of Marshall and Zula McCoy Henderson.
She attended school at Nix and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1951, at the age of 16, leaving Lampasas in 1955. She lived most of her life in Kansas.
Survivors include three daughters, Marla Dorsey, Ruth, and husband, Edwards Rogers, of Haysville, and Ellen McGee, of Baton Rouge, La.; a stepdaughter, Donna and James Sybrant; stepsons, Glenn and Sue Turney, of Upland, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Neal and Verde Ola Henderson, of Lampasas; a sister-in-law, Jean Henderson; 13 grandchildren; and numerous cousins and others in Lampasas.
She was prececed in death by two brothers, Cecil and Wayne Henderson.

Mr. Reavis
Buford "Boots" Reavis, 89, of Lampasas died Aug. 5, 2003, in Lampasas.
Funeral services are Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at Dodson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T. Irving King officiating. Burial will follow at Tobey Cemetery at Oakalla.
Mr. Reavis was born Jan. 26, 1914, in Oakalla, to herd and Matilda Priest Reavis.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for four years beginning in 1942, and then with the Army Reserves until 1949.
Mr. Reavis married Lois Marie Wooten on Oct. 22, 1949, at Oakalla.
He had worked at Fort Hood in Civil Service until retirement in 1974.
He was a member of the Lampasas VFW.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; two sons, Paul Reavis, of Oakalla, and Rickey Don Reavis, of Lampasas; one sister, Ellois Cameron, of Oakalla; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Reavis, in 1999.
