Roy Eugene Davis, 61, of Lampasas died March 30, 2003.

Mr. Phillips
Funeral services for Matthew James Phillips, 22, of Austin were March 30, 2003, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas. Burial followed at Townsen Cemetery at Adamsville.
Mr. Phillips died March 26 at North Austin Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 10, 1980, in Poway, Calif., the son of James and Kay Phillips.
Mr. Phillips had lived in Lampasas from 1983-97, before moving to Austin.
He was a member of the Berean Christadelphian Church.
Survivors include his parents of Austin; one brother, Nathan Phillips, of Austin; two sisters, Naomi Braune, of Buda, and Jaymie Phillips, of Austin; a grandmother, Thelma Phillips, of Carpinteria, Calif.; and a grandfather, Ross Wolfe, of Lampasas.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Marie Wolfe, and a grandfather, James C. Phillips.
The family requested donations be made to the charity of one's choice.

Miss Bales
Funeral services for Dee Ann Bales, 38, of Lampasas are April 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lampasas with the Rev. Jack Shelton officiating.
Miss Bales died March 30 at a Temple hospital.
She was born in Lampasas to John and Martha Campbell Bales.
Miss Bales graduated from Lampasas High School in 1982. She was an assistant to Dr. John Sherman in his Lampasas office for several years.
She had been employed at Rollins Brook Community Hospital for 10 years as a clerk in the business office.
Miss Bales was a member of First Baptist Church and was a past Worthy Matron of the Lampasas Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department's Women's Auxiliary and had been a lifelong resident of the community.
She is survived by her father of Lometa; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Daniel Hair, of Lampasas; aunts and uncles, Nelda Campbell, of Lampasas, Billie Vogel, of Amarillo, Melvin and Judy Campbell, of Burnet, William Campbell, of Alpine, Calif., Harvey and Joyce Bales, of Killeen, and Georgia Ann and Ernest Alsbrook, of Augusta, Ga.; nephews, Jacob Hair and Ty Hair, of Lampasas; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Franks
Jack Franks, 78, of Granbury, formerly of Lampasas, died March 23.
A memorial service was held at Granbury Church of Christ with Minister Stan Reid officiating.
Mr. Franks was born March 26, 1924, in Gatesville, the son of Isaac Milton and Maude Scott Franks.
He was a veteran of the Army-Air Force for just over three years, and earned a degree from Texas Chiropractic College in San Antonio in 1947.
Mr. Franks married Naomi Lou Rau on April 30, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 1978.
He then married Florence Hannah Franks on June 19, 1980.
Mr. Franks was a chiropractor and a radio broadcaster in Lampasas for 12 years. He was a song leader for Broad Street Church of Christ in Lampasas for more than 20 years.
He was an insurance agent for Farm Bureau in Brownwood for 15 years before retiring.
He was a song leader for the Austin Avenue Church of Christ for 23 years, and for Granbury Church of Christ for seven years.
Mr. Franks was a member of the Fort Worth Mens Chorus and the Judge and Jury Quartet. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood and Granbury. He also was a board member of the Hood County Commission on Aging. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; a sister, Lehman Baize, of Altus, Okla.; children, Linda and Jim Gamble and Kathy and Ron Brayton, all of Lewisville, Mark and Nelda Franks, of Brownwood, Lisa and Mark Strickland, of Arlington, and Chris and Lori Franks, of Fort Worth; stepchildren, Bobby and Deann Colvin, of Brownwood, Leslie and Joey Milan, of Granbury, Susan and Greg Gant, of Plano, and Toni Pfluger, of San Angelo; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Edna Chapman, of Groveton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Clay Murphy.

Mr. Morton
Glen Keith Morton, 46, of Peoria, Ill., died March 24, 2003, at Des-Peres Hospital in Des Peres, Mo.
Graveside services are March 29 at 2 p.m. at Hillsdale Cemetery in Izoro, Coryell County.
Mr. Morton was born Dec. 2, 1956, in Big Spring, the son of Leonard William "Bo" and Mary Elizabeth King Morton.
He worked at the Caterpillar Company manufacturing engine parts.
Mr. Morton was a Mormon. He had lived in Peoria since 1979, moving there from Provo, Utah.
He is survived by his mother of Bastrop; a son, Troy Morton, of St. Louis, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Holly Counterman, of Imperial, Mo.; sisters, Ellen Fegett, and husband, Oscar, of Midland, Jean Roy, and husband, Monty, of Lafayette. La., Retta Morris, of Austin, and Marcia Morton, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on June 20, 1966, and by a brother, James Leroy "Jim" Morton, in February 2001.

Mr. Ramirez
Funeral Mass for George Ramirez Sr., 85, was celebrated March 11, 2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial followed at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
Mr. Ramirez died March 8.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. He was a musician.
He is survived by his children, George Jr. and Lupe Ramirez, Eugenio (Eugene) Ramirez, Teofila Ramirez, Josephine Ramirez and Virginia and David Baker; grandchildren, Cynthia Cantu, Sandra Ramirez, Elizabeth Andrea Baker and Troy Ramirez; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Amelia Moreno, Manuela Ramirez, Roberta Gonzales and Dolores Montoya; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Ramirez was preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, Andrea Ramirez, and a daughter, Beatrice Ramirez.

Brodie Ray
Funeral services for Brodie Kyle Ray, 17, of Lampasas, were March 24, 2003, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Barnard officiating. Burial followed at Naruna Cemetery in Burnet County.
Brodie died March 21 in Lampasas.
He was born in Lampasas to Mike Ray and Barbara Wilson. He had attended Lampasas schools before he moved to Burnet Independent School District after the past Christmas break.
Brodie was a member of Who's Who of High School Students and the FFA, where he had been active showing animals at livestock shows. He played football during his freshman and sophomore years.
He was employed as a tour guide at Longhorn Cavern.
Survivors are his mother, his father, and his stepmother, Lisa Ray, all of Lampasas; sisters, Kelsie Ray and Samantha Phillips, and a stepsister, Shyhann Hunter.
Other survivors, also from Lampasas, are his grandmother, Ernestine Wilson; grandparents, Keith and Juanita Ray; and stepgrandparents, John and Ilona Hunter.

Mr. Duncan
Leonard Duncan, 80, died June 16, 2003, in an Arlington hospital.
Family and friends gathered at Inglewood Baptist Church in Grand Prairie June 19, and plan to gather at Lometa Methodist Church June 21 from noon to 2 p.m.
At Mr. Duncan's request, his ashes will be scattered on his favorite deer lease in Lometa by family members.
He was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Killeen, and reared in Lometa.
Mr. Duncan was a corporal in the Army Air Force during World War II, and was a longtime employee of Fritz W. Glitsch and Co. in Dallas, where he was a an oil refinery equipment foreman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alfa Lou Moore Duncan; three children, Lynda Meinke, of Grand Prairie, Doug Duncan, of Bryce Canyon, Utah, and Stacey Duncan Smith, of Morrisonville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Matt Meinke and Meghan Smith; a twin brother, Linuel Duncan, of Harwood; and many nieces and nephews.
