Mrs. Phillips
Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Phillips, 79, of Lampasas died June 17, 2003, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
Her body will be cremated.
Mrs. Phillips was born May 5, 1924, in Tiffin, Ohio, where she was reared.
She married Frank Phillips on July 3, 1949, in Cody, Wyo.
Mrs. Phillips retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postmaster in Yellowstone Park in 1983.
She moved to Lampasas in May 2000, and had previously lived in Wyoming, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia and Arkansas.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; one daughter, Doris Kay Bequette, of Salem, Mo.; two sons, Mark L. Phillips, of S. Berwick, Maine, and Lynn Phillips, of Milwaukee, Wisc.; three sisters, Stella Marie Magers and Marge Pennycuff, both of Tiffin, and Mary Jane Magers, of Fremont, Ohio; three brothers, Charles Magers, Mike Magers and Patrick Magers, all of Tiffin; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements by Dodson Funeral Home of Lampasas.

Mr. Bawcom
Amuel Leo Bawcom, 93, of Lampasas died June 13, 2003, at a Lampasas nursing home.
Funeral services were June 16 at Dodson Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Chadwick officiating. Graveside services are June 17 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Ozona.
Mr. Bawcom was born in Llano to John and Ollie Rouse Bawcom.
He married Clyde Terry on Nov. 27, 1929, in Christoval, and she preceded him in death on June 24, 1994.
Mr. Bawcom was a rancher all of his life. He moved to Lampasas County in 1963 from Ozona.
He is survived by a niece, Sammye Bollinger, and her husband, James, of Lampasas.

Mr. Everett
Funeral services for Billie Joe Everett, 77, of Amarillo were June 16, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Amarillo with Minister Robert Field officiating. Burial will military honors by the DAV Chapter No. 26 will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Everett died June 11 in Amarillo.
He was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Lometa, and served in the Navy as a radioman on the U.S.S. Huse during World War II. He married Maisie McMahan in 1946 at El Paso.
Mr. Everett moved to Amarillo in 1951. He owned and operated the Amarillo Horse Auction from 1965-78. He also worked as a sales manager at Amarillo Service and Supply and for Amarillo Fire and Safety. He retired in 1965.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Will Rogers Range Riders and the High Plains Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife of Amarillo; one daughter, Melody Pinson, of Amarillo; one son, Roger Everett and wife, Marilyn, of Yukon, Okla.; one sister, Helen Suter, of Carlsbad, N.M.; four grandchildren, Wade H. Pinson III, and wife, Amy Rachelle, of Amarillo, Steven J. Pinson, and wife, Amy Gwendolyn, of Vilseck, Germany, and Erin Everett and Alex Everett, both of Yukon; and two great-grandchildren, William Xavier Pinson and Victoria Valdez Pinson, both of Amarillo.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Brown
Funeral services for Vera Lorean Carroll Brown, 91, of Lometa were June 8, 2003, at First Baptist Church of Lometa with the Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Burial followed at Long Cove Cemetery in Lampasas County.
Mrs. Brown died June 6 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 21, 1911, in Izoro, to Alfred Cee and Winnie Dumas Carroll.
She married B.W. "Boe" Brown on Oct. 24, 1930, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was president of Women's Missionary Union at First Baptist Church, and had headed the United Way for more than 10 years.
She was a member of the Lometa Study and Civic Club and past president of the Lometa PTA.
Mrs. Brown had lived in Lometa since 1944, moving there from Lampasas.
She is survived by her husband of Lometa; one son, B.W. "Boe" Brown, of Lometa; one daughter, Doris Gayle Conradt, and husband, Verlon, of Lometa; two sisters, Fannie Ferguson, of Dallas, and Nancy Backas, of Austin; two grandchildren, Woody Conradt, and wife, Macey, of Coppell, and Brad Conradt, and wife, Adrienne, of Dalhart; and five great-grandchildren, Lyndi and Holli Conradt, of Coppell, and Claire, Carter and Corbin Conradt, of Dalhart.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall and Norell Carroll; by one sister, Wrennie Carroll; and by a grandson, Paul William Conradt.
The family requests memorials be made to Long Cove Cemetery Association to Ruth Gadbury, Rt. 1, Box 214, Lometa, TX 76853, or to First Baptist Church of Lometa's Memorial Fund or the United Way.

Mr. Forehand
Floyd L. Forehand. 92, of Lampasas died June 6, 2003, at a local nursing home.
Funeral services were June 8 at First Street Church of Christ with Ministers Lon Jones, Kevin Haynes and Steven Middleton officiating. Burial followed at Senterfitt Cemetery.
Mr. Forehand was born Aug. 21, 1910, in Williamson County, to Alec Welch and Emmer Gardner Forehand.
He married Mary Lou Whitehead on July 1, 1933, in Lampasas.
Mr. Forehand was a maintenance supervisor for Texas Highway Department for 39 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of First Street Church of Christ and had lived in the community for 65 years.
He is survived by his wife of Lampasas; one son, Floyd Dale Forehand, and wife, Marguerite, of San Antonio; one daughter, Bobbye Machen, and husband, Alfred, of Brady; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Banks
Elizabeth Banks, 55, of Lampasas died Oct. 12, 2002, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
No services are planned. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Banks was born in Dallas, to O. Charlton and Alvina Eason Ayers.
She married Robert Banks on Jan. 27, 1967, at Dallas.
Mrs. Banks had lived in Puerto Rico, Georgia, Germany, Kansas and Missouri before moving to Lampasas in 1983.
She is survived by her husband of Lampasas; a daughter, Laura Barbee, of Lampasas; two sisters, Olivia Clark, of Dallas, and Barbara McLauren, of Lubbock; a brother, David Ayers, of Costa Rica; her parents of Dallas; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Banks.

Mr. Hahn
Funeral services for Harold Gene Hahn, 74, of Las Vegas, Nev., were Oct. 7, 2002, at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas. Burial followed at Palm Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Hahn died Oct. 3 in a Las Vegas hospital.
He was born March 22, 1928, the son of Charlie A. and Mildred B. Hahn, lifelong Lampasas residents.
Mr. Hahn was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a retired inventory controller at the Nevada Test Site.
Mr. Hahn is survived by his wife, Gladys Hahn; brothers and sisters, Gnell Utzman and Walter G. Hahn, of Las Vegas, Charles and Charlene Hahn, of Arlington; five nephews; and four nieces.
Arrangements by Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas.

Mrs. Barnard
Funeral services for Gracie Catherine Barnard, 71, of Lampasas are Oct. 9, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Maurice Dodson, Charles Powell and Jim Standard officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnard died Oct. 5 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
She was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Waxahachie, the daughter of Lawrence and Irene Favor Ellis.
She married Bennie Barnard on March 25, 1948, in Waxahachie.
Mrs. Barnard had been a cashier for K-Mart. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lampasas. She moved to Lampasas in 1998, coming from Tyler.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; one son, Bennie Gary Barnard, of Lampasas; three daughters, Beverly Gail Raines, of Bela Vista, Ark., Vanessa Mae Cornelius, of Tomball, and Cathy Jean Drew, of Burnet; one brother, Boyd Ellis, of Burleson; two sisters, Dorothy Ellis and Nella Ellis, both of Weatherford; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar, Guen and Brian Ellis.
The family requested memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association, National Headquarters, 919 N. Michigan Ave. Ste. 1000, Chicago, Ill. 60611-9501.
