Mr. Murphy
O.R. "Ray" Murphy, 80, of Lampasas died Nov. 29, 2004, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
Graveside services were Dec. 2 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas with Minister Reid Schaub officiating.
Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Valley View, Texas, to Albert and Cecil Moore Murphy.
He grew up in the Gainesville area.
Mr. Murphy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He married Sandy Saegert in August 1976 at Gainesville.
Mr. Murphy had worked for Armour Food Company for many years. He owned and operated Murphy's Well Service in Lampasas from 1976-80.
He moved to Fort Worth and worked for Owens Country Sausage, and in 1990, he moved back to Lampasas.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; a daughter, Debbie Ferguson, and husband, Clay, of Red Bluff; three sons, Gary Murphy, and wife, Nancy, of Granbury, Ray Murphy, and wife, Jan, of Nocona, and Matt Davis, and wife, Kathy, of Round Rock; a sister, Fern Shotwell, and husband, Jody, of Whitesboro; a brother, Eugene Paul Murphy, of Gainesville; eight grandchildren, Keith and Ty Sexton, of Cleburne, John and Kristi Claunch, of Joshua, Kimberly and Leon Fish, of Arkansas, Rene Bianco, of Fort Worth, Wade and Shannon Spain, of Waco, Christi and Obie Savage, of New York City, Courtney Allen, of Midland, and Chad Allen, of Lampasas; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The family requested memorials be made to Lampasas Public Library, 201 S. Main St., Lampasas, TX 76550.

Mrs. Snell
Funeral services for Jean Snell, 84, of Lampasas were Dec. 2, 2004, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Willis officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Snell died Nov. 28 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1920, in Moonshine Hill, Texas, to Percy and Lena Rivers Goodwin Smale.
Mrs. Snell grew up in Oakalla during the Depression until 1940, when she married Denzil Young Snell on Dec. 1, 1940, and they settled in Lampasas, where Mrs. Snell lived the rest of her life.
She was a rancher and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Howard, of Lampasas; a sister, Zane Hilliard, of Killeen; two granddaughters, Erin M. Howard, of Ayden, N.C., and Zoe R. Howard, of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 18, 1988; by a brother, Russell Smale; a sister, Zoe Davis; and by an infant sister.
The family requested memorials be made to Texas Lions Camp, P.O. Box 290247, Kerrville, TX 78029 or to the Colorado River CattleWomen's Association, in care of Leigh Vann, 20831 S. Hwy. 183, Lampasas, TX 76550.

Mr. Willhelm
Murray Willhelm of Lampasas died Nov. 29, 2004, at a local nursing home. He was 92.
Funeral services were Dec. 2 at Dodson-Sneed Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Darnell Boyd officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Willhelm was born April 6, 1912, at Bend, the son of Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Baxter Willhelm.
He married Pauline Bearden on March 10, 1933, at Bend.
Mr. Willhelm retired from the Texas Highway Department where he was in maintenance. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of Lampasas; two daughters, Donna Stockman and husband, Richard, of Lampasas, and Paula Mathews, of Florence; a sister, Christine Hanson, of Temple; a brother, LaJoy Willhelm, of Waco; three grandchildren, Chris Mathews, Paul Stockman and Sean Mathews; and seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Stockman, Abigail Mathews, Weston Mathews, Colby Mathews, Jordan Mathews, Loren Mathews and Kearstin Mathews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Murray Stockman; a granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Stockman; and six siblings, Claudis, Clovis, Audis, Marie, Velva and an infant sister.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Beaver
Michele Beaver, 35, of Lampasas died Nov. 23, 2004, in Burnet County.
Funeral services were Nov. 26 at First Baptist Church of Kempner with the Rev. Roger Fancher officiating. Burial was at Kempner City Cemetery.
Mrs. Beaver was born April 1, 1969, in Pasadena, to Johnny and Betty DuBose Robinson.
She graduated from Pflugerville High School in 1987, and Park College with a bachelor of arts degree in business.
In January 1991, she married Don Beaver in Florence.
Mrs. Beaver was active as a Girl Scout leader for several years. She also was an active member of First Baptist Church of Kempner.
She had worked for Farmer's Insurance in Austin before joining David Millican Insurance in Copperas Cove as an insurance writer.
Mrs. Beaver left Millican Insurance in June. In July, she joined Child Protective Services as an investigator.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; a daughter, Kayleigh Nicole Beaver, of Lampasas; a son, Kaleb Mathew Beaver, of Lampasas; a brother, Derek Alan Robinson, of Pflugerville; her parents of Kempner; and a grandmother, Iris Sanders, of Kempner.
The family requested memorials be made to the Kayleigh and Kaleb Beaver Education Fund in care of National Bank of Lampasas, 907 S. Key, Lampasas, TX 76550.

Mr. Jones
Jackson L. Jones of Lampasas died Nov. 26, 2004, at his residence. He was 64.
Funeral services are Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. at Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Burial will be at China Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson was born Dec. 15, 1939, in San Saba County, to Samuel Garrett Jones and Polly Irene Griffay Jones.
He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his mother, Irene Head, of Lampasas; one son, Jackson Lee Jones, and wife, Diana, of Pflugerville; two daughters, Jannita Sue Jones Flores, and husband, Tim, of Austin, and Jennifer Rae Jones Moskowitz, and husband, David, of Round Rock; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Melson, of Round Rock; grandsons, Brendan Flores, Zachary Flores, Cody Jones, Keegan Jones, Ben Moskowitz and Ryan Moskowitz; granddaughters, Lillian Edwards and Paige Edwards; a sister, Vernette Harkey, and husband, Tommy, of Lampasas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father;, by a brother, Clayton Jones; and by two sisters, Willeen and Sammie.
Pallbearers are Don Harris, Frank Gage, Tommy Harkey, Richard Crain, Gary Eiben and Jackson Lee Jones.
Grandsons are honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Nov. 30 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Memorials are requested to be made to the American Lung Association, Central Region, P.O. Box 26566, Austin, TX 78755-0566.

Mr. Rainwater
Funeral services for William A. "Bill" Rainwater, 66, of Kempner were Nov. 29, 2004, at Dodson-Sneed Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas with the Rev. Roger Fancher officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mr. Rainwater died Nov. 26 at his residence.
He was born June 8, 1938, in Lampasas, to Elijah Moore and Lois Louise Hendrix Rainwater.
He married Jean Carter on July 15, 1958, in Lufkin.
Mr. Rainwater worked for Texas Power and Light for 35 years as a lineman. He was a member of the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of Kempner; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Angela Rainwater, and Mark and Torrie Rainwater, all of Lampasas; a sister, JoAnn Vann, of Lampasas; grandchildren, Tamara Rainwater, Justin Rainwater, Koal, Rainwater, Levi Rainwater and Tate Rainwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Neelie Rainwater.
