Mr. Allen
A memorial service for Richard Dale Allen, 42, of Lampasas will be March 5, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas.
Mr. Allen died Feb. 28 at a local nursing home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1962, in Lampasas, the son of John Thomas Allen Sr. and Shirley Jo Gaddy.
Prior to becoming disabled, Mr. Allen was a mechanic. He was a lifetime Lampasas resident and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Formby Smith, of Lampasas; one son, Ricky Dale Allen, of Pendleton, Texas; stepchildren, Halita Smith, Heather Smith and Junior Smith, all of Lampasas; a granddaughter, Taya Marie Allen, of Pendleton; his father, John Allen Sr., and wife, Shary, of Lampasas; his mother, Shirley Blair, and husband, Travis, of San Saba; two sisters, Shirley Bestine, of Austin, and Patti Rogers, of Lampasas; two brothers, John Thomas Allen Jr. and James Herbert Allen, both of Lampasas; a grandmother, Ellen Gaddy, of Lampasas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, John Tom and Maudie Allen and Amos Gaddy Jr., and by an uncle.

Mrs. Cox
Funeral services for Jimmie Laverne Walker Cox, 83, of Lampasas were March 2, 2005, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Cox died Feb. 27 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen.
She was born March 12, 1921, in Lampasas County, to James and Mary Beulah Garner Armstrong.
Her first husband, William D. Walker, preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1965.
On Dec. 14, 1995, she married J.C. Cox in Lampasas.
Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a member of Adamsville Baptist Church where she had been a song leader and Sunday School teacher.
Currently, she and her husband attended Community Church of Christ in Lampasas.
Mrs. Cox was a volunteer at the Lampasas Senior Center, and she and her husband attended many dances there.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; three daughters, Peggy and Mack Fowler, of Amarillo, Mary Walker Davis, of Austin, and Billie and Neil Shelburn, of Burnet; a stepson, Gary Cox, of Austin; stepdaughters, Geri and Rod Whitley, of Dripping Springs, and Marcia Stark, of Lampasas; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Walker, on Jan. 15, 2005; by a grandson, Gary Brannon, on May 18, 1990; and by a son-in-law, Jerry Don Brannon, on Aug. 5, 1999.
Pallbearers were Kyle Stewart, Bo Lyman, Joel Dickison, Colby Denton, Jeff Necessary, Rodney Whitley, Kevin Whitley and Henry Farquhar.

Mr. Delgado
Funeral Mass for Jesse Delgado Jr., 58, of Lampasas are March 4, 2005, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Harnan officiating.
Mr. Delgado died March 1 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 3, 1947, in Morgan, to Jesus and Irene Moreno Delgado Sr.
Mr. Delgado married Mae Johnson in Lampasas on Oct. 6, 2000, and had lived in Lampasas all of his life.
He had worked in construction and was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; five sons, Joe Angel and Regina Delgado, of Chandler, Raymond Delgado, of Amarillo, David Delgado, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Ricky Delgado and Kuko Gauna, both of Lampasas; two daughters, Norma Delgado, of San Angelo, and Michele and Daniel Branton, of Clyde; three stepdaughters, Miranda and Peter Dvorak and Mirissa and Lee Shanklin, both of Lampasas, and Misty and Brandon Beck, of Lawton, Okla.; his mother of Lampasas; sisters, Mary Alice and Roy Castruita and Lupe and David Munoz, all of Lampasas, Janie and Ronnie Ensley and Dela Delgado, all of Dalton, Ga., and Margie and Troy Hall, of Brownwood; 24 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and by a granddaughter, Xandria Delgado.
Pallbearers are Peter Dvorak, Lee Shanklin, Brandon Beck, Glenn Johnson, Michael Salazar, Joaquin Salazar, Brian Munoz and Nicholas Munoz.
Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Branton, Chris Hall and Jeremy Hall.

Mr. Garner
Jett Glenn Garner, 20, of The Woodlands died Feb. 27, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral Mass is March 4 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City, Texas. Graveside services are March 5 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Lake Victor.
Mr. Garner was born Dec. 7, 1984, in Waco, and had lived in Missouri City since he was 4. There, he attended Lantern Lane Elementary and Quail Valley Middle School.
He attended Holy Family Catholic church for many years.
Most recently, Mr. Garner worked with his father for about a year at Myron Steves, and worked for AMF Bowling Center in The Woodlands.
He is survived by a daughter, Skyler Elizabeth Holmes, and her mother, Sarah Holmes, of Rockingham, N.C.; his parents, John and Alison Garner; a sister, Candice Garner, of Missouri City; grandmother, Dana Hollister, of Lampasas; grandfather, Mack Garner, of Lampasas; great-grandmother, Glenn Field, of Lampasas; aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Arlys Garner, and a grandfather, Bill Hopwood.
The family requested memorials be made to Skyler Holmes' Education Fund, in care of John L. Garner, 3107 Robinson Rd., Missouri City, TX 77459.

Mr. Godwin
Funeral services for Riley Alvin Godwin, 81, of Alvin are March 4, 2005, at South Park Baptist Church in Alvin with Dr. Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Confederate Cemetery at Alvin.
Mr. Godwin died March 1 at Friendswood Haven Nursing Home at Friendswood.
He was born April 18, 1923, the son of Enoch and Nollie Godwin of Lometa.
Mr. Godwin served in the U.S. Army's 66th Black Panther Infantry Division, 264th Regiment, Company K, in the European theater during World War II.
Following the war, he served out his time in the military police in Austria.
Mr. Godwin graduated from Texas A&M Agricultural College and was a vocational agriculture teacher at Alvin High School, where he started the first agriculture farm for FFA students.
He was a past president of the Alvin Teachers Association, past board president of the Board of Trustees of the Alvin Independent School District. He served on the board for 24 consecutive years and was honored for his years of service on May 1, 1983, when the mayor and city council proclaimed May 1 as Riley A. Godwin Day.
Mr. Godwin was a past president of the Brazoria County Fair Association in 1959, past president of the Alvin Noon Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated service from the Lions Club International Foundation, and past president of the Alvin Chamber of Commerce, where he was on the committee to select a manager to form the chamber of commerce.
He also served on the Brazoria County Appraisal District from 1984-2001, and was a member of the Alvin Community College of Trustees from 1959-72.
He and his wife, Yvonne Huepers, were married for 56 years, and lived in Alvin all of their married lives.
Mr. Godwin was co-owner and manager of Alvin Equipment Company from 1953-91.
Survivors include his wife of Alvin; a daughter, Judi Godwin, of Webster; sons, John Godwin, of Sweeny, and Eddie Godwin, and wife, Leslye, of Spring Branch; sisters, Day Alva Beckman, of Mesa, Ariz., Ruth Gadbury, of Lometa, Beulah Holland, and husband, Clifton, of Marble Falls, and May Dell Dupuis, and husband, Paul, of Groves; a brother and sister-in-law, Ira S. and Kaye Godwin, of Tucson, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Shannon Godwin Sanderson, and husband, Chad, of The Woodlands; a grandson, Douglas Godwin, of Hallettsville; and two great-grandchildren, Zak and Taylor Sanderson, of Hallettsville.
He was preceded in death by sons, Joe Godwin and Greg Godwin; and by sisters, Glenna Mae Ross of Dryden, Tiana Smith, of Lampasas, and Lillian Brown of Ozona.
Pallbearers are Ben Magness Sr., David Beaver, Bob Holland, Pete Nash, H.W. "Skip" Jackson, August E. Huepers Jr., Paul Dupuis and Tommy Lovell.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the 66th Black Panther Division, 264th Regiment, Company K of the U.S. Army of World War II.
The family requested memorials be made to AIDS Alvin Education Foundation, P.O. Box 2342, Alvin, TX 77512.

Mr. Murray
Paul Murray, 54, of Lampasas died March 2, 2005, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
Funeral services are private.
Visitation is March 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Dodson Funeral Home.
Mr. Murray was born March 8, 1950, in Weymouth, Mass., to Harry and Helen Gallagher Murray.
Mr. Murray grew up in Abington, Mass., where he graduated from high school.
On Feb. 14, 1970, he married Karen Marie Arena at Rockland, Mass.
He moved to Lampasas in 1974, where he was an auto mechanic.
Mr. Murray enjoyed working on old cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; a daughter, Julie Caler, and husband, Pete, of College Station; a son, Kenny Murray, and wife, Courtney, of Lampasas; three sisters, Elaine Murray, of Weymouth, JoAnn Cullen, of Abington, and Cynthia Woods, and husband, Jimmy, of Massachusetts; four brothers, David Murray, Louie Murray and Martin Murray, and wife, Alma, all of Massachusetts, and Jimmy Murray, and wife, Judy, of New Hampshire; and five grandchildren, Ryan Brady, Montana Caler and Dakota Caler, all of College Station, and Astin Murray and Mason Murray, both of Lampasas.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA. 22038-1131.

Mrs. Odom
Evalyn Edwina Barefoot Odom, 71, of Lometa died Feb. 28, 2005, at her home in Lometa.
Funeral services were March 2 at Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel in San Saba with Minister Darnell Boyd officiating. Burial was at Oakhaven Family Cemetery in Lampasas County.
Mrs. Odom was born May 2, 1933, in Lometa, to Eddie Moore and Ruby Margaret Barefoot.
She married Robert Odom on Oct. 6, 1951, in Springfield, Tenn.
Mrs. Odom attended Lometa School and joined the Methodist church at an early age. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 116, and served as president for five years before becoming vice president for several years.
Mrs. Odom worked in the family-owned restaurant after moving to Lometa in 1969, and was a contract mail carrier to Bend for 13 1/2 years before retiring in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Gail and Jim Cox, of Lometa, and Kathy and Richard Kalmbach, of Georgetown; a son and his wife, Robert and Teresa Odom II, of Lometa; seven grandchildren, Cyndi, Ricky, Denise, Robert, Shawnee, Katherine and R.W.; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edd Barefoot, of Lampasas, Danny Barefoot, of Dickson, Tenn., and Ray Housden, and wife, Karen, of Freeport; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 2002; a granddaughter, Ramona Pacheco, and great-granddaughter, Melanie Pacheco, in December 2004; and by a sister, Doris, in August 1987.
Pallbearers were members of the Lometa Volunteer Fire Department.
The family requested memorials be made to the Lometa Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 246, Lometa, TX 66853.
