Ms. Jaimes
Funeral services for Maria Guadlupe Jaimes, 68, were Feb. 24, 2005, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Adam Martinez officiating. Burial was at Killeen City Cemetery.
Ms. Jaimes died Feb. 21.
She was born Jan. 21, 1937, in New Braunfels.
She is survived by five sons, Rudy Bocanegra and Robert Bocanegra, both of Harker Heights, Andrew Bocanegra and Phillip Bocanegra, both of Temple, and Johnny Bocanegra, of Nolanville; three daughters, Josephine Bocanegra and Rosa Frances Hernandez, both of Harker Heights, and Rosa Maria Corona, of Killeen; brothers, Manuel Maceyra, Pete Maceyra and Bill Maceyra, all of Lampasas; sisters, Frances Castruita and Eugenia Johnson, both of Lampasas; 24 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Jaimes was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Louisa Maceyra, and by her husband, Gregoria Bocanegra.

Mr. Mitchell
John "Jay, J.W., Popeye" Mitchell, 80, of Izoro died Feb. 25, 2005, at a Temple nursing facility.
Graveside services were Feb. 27 at Hillsdale Cemetery at Izoro with the Rev. Paul Kenley officiating.
Mr. Mitchell was born Oct. 19. 1925, in Lampasas County, to Mack Day and Mary Etta Young Mitchell. He grew up in the Adamsville area.
He married Mary Kate Casbeer in 1964, and she preceded him in death in May 1980.
Mr. Mitchell then married Dorothy Mae Dunn Littlefield on March 3, 1983, in Adamsville.
He owned and operated Casbeer's Store, a service station and grocery story in Adamsville, for many years.
Mr. Mitchell enjoyed fishing, tinkering, camping and playing dominoes.
He is survived by his wife of Izoro; two daughters, Dianne Goerdel, of Hamilton, and Patricia Gregory, of DeLeon; three sons, Bill Gandy, of Buda, Earl Gandy and Doyle Littlefield, both of Izoro; a brother, Clinton Mitchell, of Plano; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Littlefield; by four brothers, Hayden R. Mitchell, Edwin N. Mitchell, Glynn W. Mitchell and Lewis Day Mitchell; and by a sister, Margaret Ruth Dickerson.

Mrs. Haynes
Sue Haynes, 89, of Lampasas died Feb. 20, 2005, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
A memorial service is Feb. 26 at Dodson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Adams officiating.
Mrs. Haynes was born April 19, 1915, in Brumley, Mo., to Matt L. and Mellie Jane Lawson Martin. Her mother died during a flu epidemic when she was 2 years old. When Mrs. Haynes was 6 years old, her father married Lura, who became just like her mother.
Mrs. Haynes graduated from high school in Olean, Mo., where she met Max Haynes. They married on Feb. 9, 1936, at Fulton, Mo., and were married for 69 years.
Mrs. Haynes worked at several restaurants near their home in Bagnell Dam, Lake of the Ozarks where they lived for many years. She had the opportunity to meet Charles Lindbergh and his wife at one of the restaurants where she worked.
Mrs. Haynes was a member of Central Christian Church of Lampasas.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Linda and Rex Johnson, of Lampasas; a son and his wife, John and Bronda Haynes, of Bella Vista, Ark.; six grandchildren, Dan Johnson, of Lampasas, Max Johnson, of Round Rock, Rexann Johnson, of Guymon, Okla., Lisa Huxtable, of Kansas City, Mo., and Jennifer Williams, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 31, 2004; by two sisters, Eula Amos and Geneva Martin; and by three brothers, Paul Martin, Dorsey Martin and Staley Martin.
The family requested memorials be made to Central Christian Church, 204 S. Broad St., Lampasas, 76550, or to VistaCare Hospice, 2626B, South 37th St., Temple, TX 76504.

Mr. Martinez
Guadalupe Andreas Martinez, 58, of Copperas Cove died Feb. 22, 2005, in a local hospital.
Funeral services are Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove. Burial with full military honors will follow Feb. 28 at noon at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Mr. Martinez was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Texas. He was reared and educated in Texas and Colorado and graduated from Morgan High School in Colorado in the Class of 1968.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1969, serving for 20 years, and retired with the rank of SFC/E7. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His decorations and awards include National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Bars (2), Army Commendation Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge and Good Conduct Medal (2).
Mr. Martinez married Aida L. Rios on Feb. 22, 1975, at Fort Eustes, Va.
After his retirement, he worked for Dynacorp on Fort Hood for more than 15 years.
Mr. Martinez was a charter member and co-founder of the Tri City Express Soccer Program in Lampasas, Copperas Cove and Killeen. He had lived in the community since 1973 and was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of Copperas Cove; sons, Victor Martinez, of Nolanville, James Martinez, of Houston, and Christopher Martinez, of Copperas Cove; brothers, Desi Martinez, of Lawton, Okla., Elaizar Martinez, of Vail, Colo., and Peter Martinez, of Pueblo, Colo.; sisters, Francis Guerrero, Gracie Martinez, Norma Maloney and Lucy Maly, all of Brush, Colo., and Gloria Vernon, of Dibol; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Romig
Carol Lee Romig, 73, of Izoro, died Feb. 21, 2005, in Lampasas.
Funeral services were Feb. 22 at First Baptist Church in Evant with the Revs. David Bonnet and John Weaver officiating. Burial was at Hillsdale Cemetery at Izoro.
Mrs. Romig was born May 28, 1931, at Agra, Okla., to Orval and Florence Dowell Lewis. She grew up in California, in the Oxnard and Ventura areas, where she attended school.
Mrs. Romig enjoyed traveling, and continued her education in both the U.S. and in Europe. In later years, she started her own business and was a longtime bookkeeper and business manager in Evant.
She also was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Evant. She served as the church clerk and bookkeeper, and was very involved with several church committees, including Sunday School and the Hispanic Mission, and she was a strong supporter of the church's youth.
She is survived by one son, Darrell Romig, of Brisbane, Australia; two grandchildren, Travis Grant Romig and Sarah Ellen Romig; a sister, Betty Neathery, of Oakview, Calif.; and by a brother, Orval (Spike) Lewis, of Oakview.
Pallbearers were Varnell Carroll, Calvin Burks, Johnny Burks, Eldon Perkins, Damon Chumney and Jerry Blakely.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Losier, Bill Hattaway, Jim Cummings, Carl Grubb, David Straley and Bassel Leach.

Mrs. Duncan
Graveside funeral services for Floy Jo Duncan, 90, of Jonesboro, formerly of Kempner, are set for Feb. 23, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Copperas Cove City Cemetery.
Mrs. Duncan died Feb. 20 in Jonesboro.
She was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Bell County, the daughter of Richard and Liza Jane Quitt Byrd.
On May 22, 1937, she married Mabry Lawrence Duncan in Copperas Cove, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1988.
Mrs. Duncan was a retired retail sales manager and was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro since 1977. She was an active participant in her Sunday School class and the Saints Alive Senior Citizens program at the church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and retired Lt. Col. David Pohl, of Jonesboro; and grandsons, Scott and Eric Pohl.

Mrs. Keleher
Polly Perry Keleher, a lifelong Lampasas resident, died Feb. 19, 2005, at a Kerrville nursing home She was 64.
Graveside services are Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at Cauble Cemetery in Burnet County with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. The family will receive friends on Feb. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Keleher was born April 29, 1946, in Lampasas, the daughter of Harry and Katie Jackson Perry.
She was a homemaker and a member of Community Church in Lampasas.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Price, and husband, Kenny, of Junction, and Kathi Wagner, of Belton; two sisters, Betty Mullins and Paula Dennis, both of Lampasas; five grandchildren, Amanda Childers, T.J. Mankowski and Zachary Price, all of Junction, Brian Mankowski, of Creed, Colo., and Danielle Moore, of Duluth, Minn.; and five great-grandchildren, Trinity Rogers, Kolby St. Claire, Harley Childers, Brandon Childers and Klaranay Mankowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Harry "Buddy" Perry.
The family requested memorials be made to Community Church of Christ in Lampasas.

Sissy Kooiker
Funeral services for Sandra Dee "Sissy" Kooiker, 4, of Lampasas will be Feb. 22, 2005, at noon at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with the Rev. Mark Barnard officiating. Burial will follow at Naruna Cemetery at Burnet County.
Sissy died Feb. 19 at her residence.
She was born June 13, 2000, in Temple, and was a student at Kline Whitis Elementary School.
She is survived by her mother and father, Denise Kooiker and Paul Miceli, of Lampasas; a brother, Bruce Kooiker, of Iowa; grandparents, Brenda Brueggeman, of Texas, and Dwight Dumas and wife, Cathy, of Oklahoma; great-grandparents, Vera Nobles, of Texas, and Roy Dumas, of Arizona; aunts and uncles, Darla Smith, Jeff Dumas, Dana Johnson, Jennifer Dumas and Kelley Dumas; eight cousins; and a number of other relatives, including her biological father, Chad Kooiker, of Rock Valley, Iowa.
The family requested memorials be made to the Sissy Kooiker Memorial Fund in care of First Texas Bank, 501 E. Third St., Lampasas, TX 76550.
