Mrs. Hastings
Lenora Ella Henrietta Mundt Hastings of Georgetown died March 11, 2005, at Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown. She was 101.
Graveside services are March 15 at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas with her son, the Rev. Allen Hastings, officiating.
Mrs. Hastings was born June 28, 1903, in Rochester, Minn., to Julius and Emma Kracht Mundt.
She was married to Paul Hastings, and he preceded her in death in 1962.
Mrs. Hastings was a clerk for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and for Kahler Corp.
She also had served as a Pine Island, Minn., City Council member.
She retired in 1968, and moved from Minnesota to Sun City, Ariz., where she resided for many years until moving to the Austin area in December 2003.
She is survived by her son, and his wife, Karla, of Austin; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven sisters and two infant brothers.
The family requested memorials be made to Risen Savior Lutheran Church of Austin.
Dr. Longfield
Dr. Aaron North Longfield, 83, of San Antonio, formerly of Lampasas, died March 13, 2005, at San Antonio.
Funeral services are pending.
Ms. Lancaster
Loene Harrell Lancaster, 86, of Lampasas died July 3, 2005, at Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco.
A memorial service was July 7 at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with Dr. Rick Willis officiating.
Ms. Lancaster was born June 8, 1919, in Nueces County, to Raymond Lewis and Maude Anderson Harrell.
The Harrell family moved to Adamsville in 1919, when Ms. Lancaster was less than a year old. She attended school in Adamsville, and completed her education in San Marcos, where she graduated from high school while rooming with her sister, Irene, who was a student at Southwest Texas Teachers College.
She married William Edward (Billy) Lancaster on May 19, 1940, and they moved to Fort Worth.
Ms. Lancaster returned to the family home when her children were small. They attended First Baptist Church in Lampasas.
In the early 1960s, she moved to Lampasas where she lived until November 2003, when she moved to Blanco to be with her daughter.
Ms. Lancaster attended business school and for a short time worked as a bookkeeper.
For more than 35 years she was the director of the nursery at First Baptist Church in Lampasas, where she was a member.
She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Linda L. McDonald, of Blanco; a son, James Edward (Jim) Lancaster, of Hallettsville; a sister, Dorothy Marie Harrell Herrmann, of Lampasas; grandchildren, O.L. (Mark) McDonald, of Marble Falls, Suzannah McDonald Crump, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Sydney McDonald Bond, of Lubbock, and Raymond Lancaster, of Hallettsville; great-grandchildren, Morgan Crump, Brittney Bond, Brandon Bond and Nathan Lancaster; and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Owen (Bill) Harrell and Raymond Travis (Ray) Harrell, and by a sister, Irene Harrell Jackson.
The family requested memorials be made to the nursery program at First Baptist Church, 402 S. Key Ave., Lampasas.

Mrs. Blomquist
Funeral services for Bettie Blomquist, 71, of Round Rock were July 5, 2005, at Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville with Chaplain Tom Wicker officiating. Burial was at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
Mrs. Blomquist died July 1 at Trinity Care Center in Round Rock after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 5, 1934, in Burnet County, to Ozias and Alice Rice.
Mrs. Blomquist graduated from Lampasas High School in 1951 and attended Nixon-Clay Business College in Austin. She graduated from Central Texas College School of Nursing in 1971.
She had worked as a secretary for the Texas Department of Public Safety and was a registered nurse at Rollins-Brook Hospital in Lampasas, St. David's Hospital in Austin, Travis State School and Austin State Hospital, where she retired in May 1994.
Mrs. Blomquist had lived in Round Rock since 1981 and was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Oscar Neal Blomquist; two sons, Richard Blomquist, of Killeen, and Charles Blomquist, of Round Rock; two daughters, Marsha Prekup, of Horseshoe Bay, and Debbie Harbers, of LaGrange; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William H. (Bill) Rice.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Long
Funeral services for Rosie Aline Long of Lampasas are July 6, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. The Rev. Rick Willis will officiate, assisted by Charles Fields. Burial will follow at Lometa City Cemetery in Lometa.
Mrs. Long died July 3 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. She was 87.
She was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Hill County, the daughter of J.C. and Lottie Alice McMurray Bryant. Mrs. Long had lived in Lampasas since 1964, moving from Odessa.
She and Ben L. Long were married Feb. 22, 1936, in Midland, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1996, one month before they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Mrs. Long was a 37-year member of Adamsville Baptist Church. She had worked a number of years for Hamilton Home Health as a caretaker in the Adamsville and Evant area.
Survivors include a son, J.C. Long, of Lampasas; a daughter, Shirley Carlile, and husband, Jarvis, of Lampasas; two brothers, Homer Bryant, and wife, Vanna, of Kermit, and Ross Bryant, and wife, Joyce, of Odessa; a sister, Lois Hatter, of San Antonio; and grandchildren, David Carlile, of Lampasas, Nina Mickan, of Copperas Cove, Jim Carlile, of Temple, Bob Long, of Mesquite, Jay Lee Long, of Grapevine, and Jon Paul Long, of Austin; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers are Jon Long, Jay Lee Long, Bob Long, John Mickan, Matt Carlile, Britt Carlile, Clint Carlile and Jim Carlile.
The family requested memorials be made to the Lampasas Public Library.

Mrs. Machen
Funeral services for Neva Machen, 89, of Lampasas were July 2, 2005, at First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas. Burial followed at Nix Cemetery.
Mrs. Machen died June 30.
She was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Sweatout, to V.A. and Algie Pearl Hutchison Porter. She attended Sweatout School and was baptized in a creek near Sweatout.
She married Milton George Machen on Aug. 4, 1934, in Lometa.
Mrs. Machen was a member of First Street Church of Christ and was a lifelong resident of Lampasas.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include daughters, Avilla Corbin, and husband, Roland, and Sharon Moore, and husband, Buddy, of Lampasas; sons, Clifford Machen, and wife, Leslie, of Lampasas, and Alfred Machen, and wife, Bobbye, of Brady; sisters, Alena Hutchison, of Dilley, Edna Carroll, of Tuscon, Ariz., and Reba Weeks, and husband, V.T., of Lampasas; brothers, Clayton Porter, of El Dorado, and L.A. Porter, of Lampasas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; and by four brothers, Marlin Porter, Alton Porter, Clinton Porter and Clifford Vaughn Porter.

Mr. Votaw
Kempner resident Lloyd E. Votaw, 93, died July 4, 2005, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
Services are July 7 at 9 a.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with the Revs. Roger Fancher and Ray Blundale officiating. Burial will follow at Votaw Family Cemetery in Lampasas County.
Mr. Votaw was born April 2, 1912, in Kempner, to Jesse Sinclair and Avis Irene Snell Votaw.
He had lived in Kempner for 28 years.
Mr. Votaw married Gladys Rae Herbert on March 23, 1938, in Bastrop, and they were married more than 67 years.
He retired from the Internal Revenue Service and was a member of Kempner First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Kempner; two sons, Thomas Votaw, and wife, Bernice, of Big Sandy, and David Votaw, and wife, Debbie, of Kempner; two daughters, Dorcas Wilson, and husband, Billy Jack, and Mary Houston, and husband, Opie, all of Austin; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Preece
Lometa resident Bernice Ratliff Preece, 96, died June 24, 2005, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
Funeral services were June 27 at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton. Burial was at North Belton Cemetery.
Mrs. Preece was born June 21, 1902, in Corn Hill Community, to Lafayette Monroe and Elizabeth Watson Ratliff.
She was Pentecostal and was instrumental in founding and building three churches in Belton. Mrs. Preece pastored a home ministry and held regular prayer meetings in Lometa since the early 1970s.
She married Delmar Lee Preece in November 1924, in San Saba, and he preceded her in death in July 1964. She then married Clarence R. Dannheim in 1970, and he preceded her in death in July 1972.
Survivors include one son, Dorman (Dobbin) Leon Preece, and wife, Lois, of Troy; three daughters, Pansy Randolph, and husband, W.E., of Belton, and Barbara Melton, and husband, Charles R., and Zona Kelly, and husband, Chuck, all of Lometa; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Lee Preece; two grandsons, Keith L, Preece and Charles Lee Melton; and by five brothers and three sisters.

The Saulats
Funeral services for the Saulats were Tuesday afternoon at the Masjid-Ul-Taqwa on Highway 195 in Killeen. Burial was at Austin Capital Park under the direction of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen.
Mrs. Saulat was born Nov. 16, 1955, in New Delhi, India. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Syed Mohd Saulat, of Kempner; a daughter, Amberin Saulat, of Kempner; a son, Ibrahim Saulat, of Arlington; her mother, Zahida Mir Hashmi, of New Delhi; brothers, Athar Hashmi, of New Delhi, and Khalid Hashmi and Shahid Hashmi, both of Killeen; and sisters, Farhat Hashmi and Kausar Hashmi, both of New Delhi, and Huma Zain of Pakistan.
Arshia Saulat was born Sept. 16, 1986, in Tacoma, Wash. She was a student at the University of Texas at Austin.
She is survived by her father, a sister and a brother.
Sajid Saulat was born July 6, 1991, at Kusel, Germany. He would have been a freshman at Lampasas High School in the fall.
