Mrs. Martin
Kempner resident Patricia A. Martin died Aug. 11, 2005, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. She was 64.
Funeral services were Aug. 15 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas with the Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Following the service her body was cremated.
Mrs. Martin was born May 15, 1941, in Tomball, to Eugene Grady and Effie Ollie Miller Adams.
She had lived in Kempner for the past three years, moving there from Gatesville.
Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of Gatesville First United Methodist Church. She had previously been a member of Magnolia Methodist Church where she was organist for 17 years.
She enjoyed decorating, shopping, doll collecting and animals. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Ray Martin, in August 1998. She then married David York in July 2004 in Lampasas.
Survivors include her husband of Kempner; two sons, Eugene W. Martin, and wife, Cindy, of Gatesville, and Robill M. Martin, of Kempner; one sister, Barbara Ashley, of Baytown; two grandchildren, Charity Moore and Colman Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Colten Moore and Kelsie Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family requested memorials be made to Scott & White Cardiac Department on Temple or to Gatesville First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Sinko
Ann A. Sinko, 75, of Bryan died Aug. 10, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services were Aug. 13 at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. Burial was at Restever Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sinko was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Willis and Mamie Harris Lightfoot.
She had lived in California for 50 years and was a homemaker who enjoyed interior decorating.
Mrs. Sinko was a member of Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, John G. Sinko, of Bryan; a son, Ronald K. Sinko, of Bryan; a brother, Bill Lightfoot, of Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Weeks
Graveside services for Opal LaVerne Weeks, 75, of Lampasas were Aug. 14, 2005, at Watson Cemetery in Burnet County with Dr. Rick Willis officiating.
Mrs. Weeks died Aug. 10 in Cedar Park.
She was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Burnet County, to Thomas and Agnes Huggins Nettleship.
Mrs. Weeks graduated from Briggs High School.
She married Prentice Wright, and together they owned and operated Modern Cleaners in Lampasas for a number of years. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She then married Harvey Weeks, and he also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Weeks worked for various ladies shops in Lampasas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Danny Schulz, of Granbury; a son and his wife, Sherrill and Irene Wright, of Cedar Park; five grandchildren, April Kesner, and husband, Steve, Justin Schulz, and wife, Misty, Theresa Damron, Charlene Bannister, and husband, Jay, and Johnie S. Crist, and wife, Courtney; and six great-grandchildren, Russell, Jeremy and Jordyn Schulz, Preston Damron, Braiden Bannister and Shane Crist.
The family requested memorials be made to Asera Care Hospice, 1212 Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, TX 78644.

Mrs. Crider
Maud Edens Crider of Lampasas died Jan. 24, 2006, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital at the age of 91.
Funeral services were Jan. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Lampasas. The Rev. Kelly Yeager Chadwick officiated. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Crider was born March 26, 1914, in Lampasas to Benjamin Edens and Bessye Edens. She became a member of First Presbyterian Church at the age of 11.
After her graduation from Lampasas High School in 1933, she worked for Southwestern Telephone Co. and the Rural Telephone Co.
She married William "Bill" Crider on Oct. 9, 1935, in Lampasas, where they made their home before moving to the Buchanan Lake area, where her husband worked on Buchanan Dam.
In 1937, their only child, Billie Jo, was born at Rollins Brook.
In 1939, the family moved to Austin and later to Houston for a short time before finally coming back to Lampasas.
Mrs. Crider was a homemaker and active in the Lampasas County Home Demonstration Club. She later began working for the Lampasas Leader newspaper.
She was active in local school activities and attended PTA meetings. With the help of County Agent Laura Thorpe, she started a girls' 4-H club and taught them to sew, cook and do needlework.
In the 1960s, Mrs. Crider served as president of the Lampasas Democratic Women's Club.
After her husband's death, she volunteered at the elementary school and served as a substitute teacher. She also volunteered at the Senior Center until arthritis made it impossible for her to be active.
Mrs. Crider is survived by her daughter, Jo Ater, of Lampasas; a grandson, Richard Ater and wife, Hannah, of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two older sisters, Alta May and Mary, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Ater.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mr. Myers
Services for Alton Myers were pending at press time Monday. Mr. Myers died Jan. 30, 2006, at Temple's Scott & White Memorial Hospital. Sneed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Sanchez infant
Funeral services for Raeys Alejandro Sanchez, infant son of Rachael and Alejandro Sanchez, were Jan. 27, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lampasas.
Brother Preston Lindsey officiated. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Raeys died Jan. 23 at Seton Medical Center in Austin. He had been born earlier that day.
Survivors are his parents of Lampasas; a sister, Rachaele Alexas Sanchez of Lampasas; grandparents, Preston and Dorothy Lindsey and Cecilia Garza of Lampasas, Juan and Rosario Sanchez of Dripping Springs and Alicia Castrellon of Van Nuys, Calif.; and numerous other relatives.
Raeys was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Sneed Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kofman
Mike Kofman, 84, of Lampasas died Jan. 24, 2006, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be private, and the body will be cremated.
Mr. Kofman was born in Utica, N.Y., on July 29, 1921, to John Kofman and the former Mary Kielich. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
A graduate of Syracuse University, he worked as a salesman in the clothing industry for many years.
Mr. Kofman enjoyed music and remote-controlled airplanes.
His survivors include two daughters, Laura Stair and husband, Cody, of Lampasas and Linda Standefer and husband, David, of Houston; a son, John Kofman and wife, C.J., of Lampasas; and six grandchildren, Jake, Seth, Daphne, Rachel, David and Jerrod.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Middleton
Funeral services for Carlo William Middleton, 70, of Lampasas were Jan. 26, 2006, at Briggs-Gamel Funeral Home Chapel. Minister Reid Schaub officiated. Cremation was afterward.
Mr. Middleton died Jan. 21 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
He was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Sidney and Annie Middleton.
On Aug. 29, 2003, he married Marilyn Nixon in Lampasas.
Mr. Middleton was a radar technician for the airline industry for more than 30 years. After retirement, he moved to Lampasas in 1995 from Long Beach, Calif.
His survivors include his wife of Lampasas; three sons, John Middleton of Germany and Yoseph Middleton and Daniel Middleton of California; three daughters, Diona Delano Ganchequi and husband, Ernesto, of Eugene, Ore., Crispen Jennings and husband, Chris, of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Debra Middleton, also of California; and step-children James King and wife, Lisa, of Alvarado, Texas, Jody King and wife, Yvette, of Tulsa, Okla., Nathon King and wife, Caron, of Oklahoma City, and Jeanine Venegas and husband, Manuel, of Fort Worth.
Other survivors are his sister, Nancy Nobert of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, and 20 grandchildren.
Mr. Middleton was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Middleton and Alice Middleton; and one brother, James Middleton.
