Mrs. Terry
A memorial service for Ora Lee Terry was Jan. 21, 2006, at Earthman's Funeral Home in Houston. She died Jan. 19 in Houston at the age of 95. Her body was to be cremated.
Mrs. Terry was born Aug. 23, 1910, to Lawrence and Sarah VanLandingham in Calhoun County, Miss.
On Feb. 3, 1935, she married William Douglas Terry in Beaumont. The couple moved to Lampasas in 1947, and operated a restaurant for many years.
Mrs. Terry also was a member of First Baptist Church of Lampasas.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Terry and wife, Peggy, of Houston, and Will Terry and wife, Sandra, of Sugar Land; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death in April 1974.
Memorials may be sent to the Dorcas Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Sanguinet
William Meredith Sanguinet Jr., age 93, of Lampasas, died Jan. 22, 2006, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be conducted Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas. Father James Harnan will officiate, and interment will follow at Naruna Cemetery in Burnet County.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
Mr. Sanguinet was born Sept. 3, 1912, in Dallas to William Meredith Sanguinet Sr. and Lucy Maud Clark Sanguinet.
On March 17, 1937, he married Dorothy Imojean Toal in Fort Worth.
He was a master plumber and belonged to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #100 for many years. He retired from plumbing at age 62, and Mr. Sanguinet and his wife opened Thunder Bay Truck Stop in Cleburne, which they operated for 20 years.
Mr. Sanguinet also worked at the testing site at Los Alamos, N.M., where the atomic bomb was built that ended World War II.
His survivors include his wife, Dott, of Lampasas; one daughter, Pamela Jean Sanguinet of Fort Worth; a son, William Meredith Sanguinet III and wife, Janet, of Lampasas; three grandchildren, Andrew Jason Sanguinet and wife, Kelli, Jody Shane Sanguinet and wife, Leslie, and Victoria Marie Sanguinet Tower and husband, John, all of Lampasas; and seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Brianna, Caitlyn, Colton, Cody and Colbi Sanguinet, and Emily Tower, all of Lampasas.
Two brothers, Buddy Dick Sanguinet of Ennis and Thomas Means Sanguinet of Gladewater, also survive Mr. Sanguinet.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Maud Sanguinet, and three brothers, Robert M. Sanguinet, Francis H. Sanguinet, and Jack Sanguinet.

Mrs. Sharp
Funeral services for Patricia Sharp of Lampasas are pending with Briggs-Gamel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sharp passed away Jan. 20, 2006, at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. She was 58.
Codie Whitesell
Eleven-month-old Codie Scott Whitesell of Salina, Kansas, died Jan. 20, 2006. He was born Feb. 18, 2005, in Salina to Derek Whitesell of Bennington, Kansas, and Crystal Cude Wheeler of Salina.
Funeral services will be Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel in Salina, with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Loren Houltbert will officiate.
The family plans visitation before the service Thursday at the chapel.
Survivors include Codie's parents; a sister, Sarah Whitesell of Tescott, Kansas; a brother, Damion Wheeler of Salina; grandparents Janice Peterson, David and Vicky Nichols, and Lester and Marsha Wheeler, all of Salina, and Richard Cude Sr. of Lampasas; and great-grandfather E.J. Chambers of Lampasas.
He also is survived by an aunt, Angela Peterson, of Pueblo, Colo.; two uncles, Jeff Peterson of Pueblo and Richard Cude of Salina; and four cousins, Kathryn P. Peterson, Kennadi Peterson and Cayden Peterson, all of Pueblo, and Ethan Wheeler of Salina.

Mr. Cox
Dewitt Christopher "D.C." Cox, 96, died Jan. 18, 2006, at an Abilene medical center.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at University Church of Christ in Abilene, with Dr. Eddie Sharp to officiate. Interment will follow a 4 p.m. graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
The son of the former Martha Susan Chance and William Edmiston Cox, he was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Briggs, Texas.
Mr. Cox graduated from Texas A&M University in 1932, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In 1964, he moved from Baird to Abilene. Mr. Cox was a manager for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 25 years, during which time he also farmed and ranched, which he continued until his death. He was a member of University Church of Christ.
Mr. Cox married Bethel Winters in Ralls, Texas, on Aug. 28, 1935. She preceded him in death in 1998. He also was predeceased by a daughter, Sylvia Ann Cox, and two sisters, Gladys Darnell and Dorothy Martin.
His survivors include nephews Charles Darnell of Lampasas, Edward Martin of Austin and Frank Martin of Abilene; a niece, Marie Witcher of Burnet; and sisters-in-law Alva Brookshire of Carrollton and Evon Wrinkle of El Paso.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Mrs. Patterson
Graveside services for Linda Darlene Patterson of Lampasas are scheduled for 3 p.m. Jan. 20, 2006, at the Sturdivant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Jacky Langham is to officiate.
Mrs. Patterson died Jan. 19 at her local residence at the age of 62.
Born Sept. 21, 1943 in Moran, Texas, she was the daughter of William Harve Holloway and Lillian Lorene Smith Holloway. She graduated from Millsap High School and attended the Church of Christ.
She married I.L. Patterson Jr. in Mineral Wells on Aug. 6, 1960.
After living most of her life in Mineral Wells, Mrs. Patterson had resided in Lampasas the last two years.
She was a past club champion and member of the Holiday Hills Country Club in Mineral Wells. Mrs. Patterson also was a member of the Texas Women's Golf Association and the Senior Women's Golf Association.
Her survivors include her husband of Lampasas; two sons, Corky Patterson and wife, Rhonda, of Millsap, Texas, and Clint Patterson of Port Aransas; and four grandchildren, William Patterson, Misty Hogg, Christy Patterson and Dusty Patterson.
She also is survived by her mother, Lillian Hillstrom of Mineral Wells; two brothers, Lloyd Holloway and wife, Janice, of Millsap, and J.R. Holloway and wife, Alice, of Mineral Wells.
Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Raub
Sandra Joyce Raub, 64, died Jan. 7, 2006, at her home in West Bloomfield, Mich. Funeral services were Jan. 9 at Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield, Mich. Rabbi Harold Loss and cantorial soloist Neil Michaels officiated.
Interment followed at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Mich.
Mrs. Raub is survived by her husband, Rodney Raub, of West Bloomfield; two sons, Dr. Scott Raub and wife, Meredith, of Colorado, and Darryl Raub and wife, Mary, of Lampasas; two daughters, Lezlee Raub of Florida, and Kerri Masel and husband, Jonathan, also of Florida; and four grandsons, Braedon, Dawson and Kaeson Raub, all of Lampasas, and Ethan Masel of Florida.
Other survivors include a niece, Shari Goldberg and husband, Michael, and sons Josh and Justin of Michigan; a brother, Barry Rosenfield and wife, Barbara; her brother-in-law, Gerald Raub and wife, Angie; and mother-in-law, Sylvette Raub.

Mr. Wykes
Funeral services for Roger Dale Wykes, 56, of Oakalla, will be Jan. 21, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Richard Short will officiate. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery at Oakalla. Family visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Wykes died Jan. 18 at his residence.
Born Oct. 18, 1949, in Temple, he was the son of Charles H. Wykes Jr. and Tressie Meharg Wykes.
Mr. Wykes was a rancher in the Oakalla community and had lived in Oakalla all his life. He attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). Mr. Wykes was a member of the Oakalla Volunteer Fire Department, where he had just been selected as Fireman of the Year.
He was a Farm Bureau chairman and a member of the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association.
Survivors are two sisters, Janie Vance, and her husband, Bobby, of Refugio, Texas, and Reba Short, and her husband, Richard, of San Antonio; a brother, Dudley Wykes, of Oakalla; nieces, Cheryl Burkhardt, Trina Hudson, Ruth Short and Rachel Short; nephews, John Vance, Jason Wykes and Ryan Short; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Wykes was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Emory Dean Wykes and Don Loman Wykes.

Ms. Carr
Mary Margaret Carr died Feb. 25, 2006, of lung cancer at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg. She was 71.
Funeral services were March 2 at St. James Episcopal Church of Ft. McKavett with the Revs. Dr. James F. Mitchell of Canyon Lake and Melton Black of Sonora officiating. Burial was at Ft. McKavett Cemetery.
Ms. Carr was the daughter of Col. Wm. Warner and Margaret Stokes Carr. Her father was a graduate of West Point Military Academy and received nine decorations for almost two years of combat duty with the 9th Infantry in France during World War I.
Ms. Carr was educated in Lampasas schools, at St. Stephens School in Austin, and at St. Mary's Hall in San Antonio before attending Stanford University for four years.
Her paternal grandfather was the publisher of the principal newspaper at Terre Haute, Ind., and her maternal grandfather was a lifelong banker and merchant at Lampasas.

Mr. Ybarra
Funeral Mass for Anton Paul Ybarra, 23, of Lampasas was March 1, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father James Harnan officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Ybarra died Feb. 26 in San Saba County.
He was born Oct. 5, 1982, in Lampasas, the son of Arthur C. Ybarra and Sylvia Gill Ybarra.
A 2001 graduate of Lampasas High School, he was very involved in sports. Mr. Ybarra received an associate's degree in computer design and drafting. He was employed by LCRA.
He was a lifetime resident of Lampasas and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his father of Lampasas; his mother and stepfather, Sylvia and Louis Hernandez, of Lampasas; a sister, Sophie Brookreson, and husband, Larry, of Lampasas; a brother, Rico Ybarra, of Lampasas; stepsisters, April Crawford, and husband, Keith, of Bertram, and Monica Hernandez, of Austin; a stepbrother, Louis H. Hernandez, of Burnet; grandparents, Paul and Ann Gill and Lucia Ybarra, all of Lampasas; nieces, Halen Marie Ybarra and Blakeli Kate Brookreson, both of Lampasas; and a nephew, Daxton Koy Brookreson, of Lampasas.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Antonio Ybarra, and by two uncles.
Pallbearers were Charlie, Johnny, Joe and Felix Ybarra, Jimmy and Dominic Olivares, Rudy Garza Jr., and Justin and John Jass.
Honorary pallbearers were Toby Berry, Roy Bob Stewart, Benny Levine, J.C. and Dustin Chappell, and Wes Kellner.
