Mrs. Wolfe
Funeral services for Virgie Lee Wolfe, 94, of Lampasas were May 23, 2007, at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Townsen Cemetery near Adamsville.
Mrs. Wolfe died May 21 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1912, to Thomas Newton and Sarah Ewers Blackstock.
She was married to Willie Knox Wolfe, and had lived in Lampasas for 80 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey Rogers, and Linda McMullin, and husband, Donlie, all of Copperas Cove; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Wolfe, of Burnet; grandchildren, Jan Gibson, Kerry Rogers, Larry Rogers, Kirk Wolfe, Randy Wolfe, Jerry McMullin, Larissa Smith and Rocky Wolfe; and great-grandchildren, Jimmy Gonzales, Jeremy Gonzales, Terra Rogers, Ashley Nicole Rogers, Melissa Maples, Ryan Rogers, Sean Sikes, Daniel Sikes, Joshua Smith, Matthew Smith, Stormy Wolfe, Trevor Wolfe, Dillon Wolfe, Cody Wolfe, Weston Wolfe, Peyton Wolfe, Justin Brice and Seth Brice.
Other survivors include great-great-grandchildren, Brianna Watkins, Rene Watkins and Shelby Maples.
Mrs. Wolfe was preceded in death by her husband; by three sons, W.K. "Red" Wolfe, Dale Gene Wolfe and an infant son; and by a daughter, Mary Faye Wolfe.
The family requested memorials be made to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Hahn
Funeral services for Jo Donna Hahn of Lampasas were May 21, 2007, at 10 a.m. at First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas with Minister Lon Jones officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hahn died May 18 at her residence. She was 59.
She was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Huntsville, Ala., to A.W. and Floye Gillespie Chism.
She married Garrett N. Hahn on June 30. 1979, in Jelico, Tenn.
Mrs. Hahn was a teacher's aide for Lampasas Independent School District. She was a member of First Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; daughters, Michelle Lee Hahn, of Midlothian, and Tiffany Ann Benton, of Waco, Ky.; sons, Garrett H. Hahn, of Lampasas, Bryan Lee Hahn, and wife, Gina, of Berea, Ky., and William J. Hahn, of Richmond, Ky.; a sister, Robin Curtis, and husband, Steve, of Texarkana, Texas; brothers, Danny Chism, and wife, Amanda, of Waurika, Okla., Brian Chism, and wife, Karen, of Fayetteville, Ark., Larry Jones and Gary Jones, and wife, Wanda, all of New Market, Ala.; and 12 grandchildren.

Mr. Lively
Willard R. (Butch) Lively, 64, of Uvalde, formerly of Lampasas, died June 6, 2007.
A memorial service is June 14 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lampasas.
Mr. Lively was born Nov. 14, 1942, to W.E. (Whiz) and Lorene (Coots) Lively.
He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1961 and served two years in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Lively graduated from banking schools at both Texas Tech and Southern Methodist universities. He completed his undergraduate work at St. Edward's University in 1978, and later received a master's degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio.
Mr. Lively enjoyed a successful career in the banking industry beginning as a security guard at Austin National Bank and ending over 20 years later as Chairman of the Board of Falls City National Bank.
In more recent years, he was an educator and administrator in several South Texas school districts, retiring as a superintendent of Cotulla Independent School District in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda Lively, of Uvalde; daughters, Betty Sue Lively and Sara Ann, and husband, Jim Luther, of Burnet; a sister, Dayle Hetherly, and husband, Melvin (Nootie), of Temple; and grandchildren, Kelly Sue Moczygemba, Jess Luther and Hunter Luther; and stepchildren, Tammy Thornton and Larry May and families.
Mr. Lively was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Jo Machen; and two grandchildren, Leo John Moczygemba III and Katie Lynn Moczygemba.
The family requested memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
Mr. Phillips
Funeral services for Jay L. Phillips of Hewitt are June 8, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson, Waco. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Central Texas State Cemetery in Killeen for family members.
Mr. Phillips died June 1 at age 39 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 30, 1968, in Crosbyton, the son of Jim and Linda Fowler Phillips.
Mr. Phillips served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his parents of Lometa; a sister, Angela Moore, of Austin; and sons, Marcus, Jacobil and Christopher.

Mr. Payn
Funeral services for Norman Hastings Payn Jr. of Longview, formerly of Corpus Christi, are June 23, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with the Rev. George Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mr. Payn died June 18 in a Longview nursing home. He was 76.
He was born April 4, 1930, in Lampasas, the son of Norman H. and Annie Witten Payn Sr., and was a 1948 graduate of Lampasas High School.
Mr. Payn graduated from Draughton's Business College in Abilene in 1949.
After serving two years in the Marine Corps, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.
Mr. Payn then obtained a certified public accountant's license and was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 31 years.
In 1992, he retired to Corpus Christi.
Mr. Payn was had been a member of First United Methodist Church in Lampasas when growing up. After retirement, he belonged to St. Joseph's Methodist Church in Corpus Christi.
He is survived by a brother, Frank W. Payn, and wife, Marge, of Longview; a sister-in-law, Jane Cater, of San Antonio; several cousins; four nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Nolan Payn.

Mr. Bacon
Graveside services with full military honors are scheduled June 15, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen for Bobby T. Bacon, 87, of Izoro. He died June 10 at a local hospital.
Mr. Bacon was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Cisco to Ted and Ola (McCanlies) Bacon.
He served his country for 20 years in the Marines, entering the service on Jan. 8, 1940 and retiring Jan. 15, 1960. He was assigned to the 3rd battalion, 4th Marine regiment on Bataan during World War II.
Mr. Bacon was a former Japanese prisoner of war. He was captured May 6, 1942, in Corregidor and released in Honshu, Japan, on Sept. 11, 1945.
He also served in Korea.
After his retirement from the military, Mr. Bacon became a football coach for the San Angelo Independent School District. He coached at Edison and Lee junior high schools, and accumulated a win/loss record of 112-32-4 with five undefeated seasons.
When he left the school district, Mr. Bacon ranched for the next 27 years.
He also was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Order. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Mr. Bacon's survivors include his wife of 60 years, Farene Bacon, of Izoro; a daughter, Jamie Sterling, of Kempner; two grandchildren, Spencer Franklin Sterling of Santa Fe, N.M., and Jessica Sterling of Kempner; one brother, Joe Ed Bacon, of Breckenridg e; and a sister, Billie Beth Griffith, of Rockport.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Visitation is slated from 10 a.m. to noon today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
Mrs. King
Oneta Yvonne "Von" King of Lampasas died June 11, 2007, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. She was 80.
Funeral services were June 13 at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Stan Martin officiating. Her body was to be cremated.
She was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Coryell County, the daughter of James Allen Cole and Cora Azilee Dodson Cole.
Mrs. King married Harvey Rowan on March 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death.
Her second marriage was to Eugene King on Jan. 9, 1960, and he also preceded her in death.
Mrs. King worked for Saratoga Motel in Lampasas for 20 years and later worked as a home health caregiver for 10 years.
A Baptist, she resided in Lampasas for the majority of her life.
Survivors include two daughters, Cora Jean Martin and husband Earl of Marion, Texas, and Glenda Lowden and husband Eddie of Liberty Hill; one son, James Rowan, of Lampasas; and a sister, Lucille Chambers, also of Lampasas.
Others are six grandchildren, Todd Martin, Mikel Foss, Tara Martin, Briana Lowden, Grayson Rowan and Amy Lowden; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew Martin, Cheyene Foss, Payton Fuller and Jace Rowan.
In addition to her husbands, Mrs. King was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Lee Rowan; a brother, Clyde Cole; and her sister, Alene Moore.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Koemen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Mrs. Owens
Services for Virginia Kirby Owens, 83, of Menard will be at Lometa United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. June 15, 2007. Mrs. Owens died on June 11, 2007.
She was born Oct. 10, 1923 in Lometa to Thomas Earl Kirby and Louella Davis Kirby.
She married James Harvey Owens on Feb. 3, 1944, in Deming, N.M. just before he left to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Known by those close to her as "Mom Mom," she was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; by a son, James Gary Owens, in 2000; a daughter, Cecelia Owens Riley, in 2006; and a sister, Edith Kirby Harris, in 1982.
Mrs. Owens is survived by daughter Hedy Owens Wright and husband, Odie D. Wright, of Menard; son-in-law Randy Riley of Stamford; and daughter-in-law Karla Alexander Owens of Lampasas.
Other survivors are grandchildren Jeremy Wayne and wife Michelle Yonostrosa of Las Vegas, James Collin Owens and wife Heather of Austin, Lori Wright Rogers and husband Larry of Menard, Tyler Owens Wright of Menard, and Jacob Dell Riley of Stamford; great-grandchildren Mia Yonostrosa, James Collin Owens, Wyatt Harvey Owens, Logan Heath Rogers and Layne Lee Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Collin Owens, Jeremy Yonostrosa, Tyler Wright, Larry Rogers, Jacob Riley, Trey McDuff, Travis McDuff, Butch Agular and John Robert Hodge.

Mr. Teague
Funeral services for longtime Lampasas resident Albert Glyn Teague, 93, were June 27, 2007, at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel. Minister Reid Schaub officiated. Burial was at Hurst Ranch Cemetery at Star.
Mr. Teague died June 25 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
He was born Feb. 15, 1914, to Effie and Joseph Teague.
Mr. Teague married Lottie Loretta Hurst on Nov. 8, 1936. They were married for 63 years until her death on Aug. 19, 2000.
He was a disabled veteran of World War II and attained the rank of sergeant. After retiring from Civil Service at Kelly Field in San Antonio in 1960, the Teagues moved to Lampasas.
Mr. Teague wore many different hats. He was a farmer, rancher, pipe fitter, airplane mechanic, truck driver, maintenance worker, cook and a construction superintendent.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Teague and Karlene Wadsworth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Olin Teague and Claude Teague, and by a sister, Lorain Merrill.
