COMMERCE - Ima Presley Phillips, 89, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday in Mount Vernon. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Malcom Bane officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1908 in Yowell to Barney Presley and Mary Elizabeth Brim. She married Royce Hartwell Phillips on Dec. 18, 1929 in Hugo, Okla. A former resident of Hunt County, she moved from Pecan Gap to Mount Vernon in 1984. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the First United Methodist Church and she was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Martha Phillips of MountVernon; a daughter, Sue Tawater of Mount Vernon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and John C. Lamb of Mesquite and Joyce and Malcolm Bane of College Station; three sisters, Bonnie McGlanery of Mount Vernon, Lucille Pemberton of Commerce and Naomi Rainbolt of Commerce; three granddaughters, Linda Frederick, Kathy Barlow and Kim Parish; three grandsons, John Lamb, Jay Phillips and Kirk Bane and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on Aug. 31, 1984; two brothers, Henry and B.F. Presley; two sisters, Eula Sansing and Opal Phillips and one grandson, Bobby Tawater.
Pallbearers will be Jon Lamb, Chris Frederick, Jay Phillips, Shawn Parish, Kirk Bane, Mike Stooksberry, Tim Phillips and Ronny Sansing.
Thomas Hardaway
William Thomas Hardaway, 83, of Greenville died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital of Houston. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Shinn officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Hardaway was born Aug. 29, 1914, in Sulphur Springs; the son of William T. and Myrtis Waggoner Hardaway. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and attended Wesley Junior College from 1933 to 1935. He married Mary Elizabeth Turk on Sept. 18, 1935, in Greenville.
Mr. Hardaway was a U.S. Army veteran; having served in World War II from 1943 to 1945. He worked in retail in Greenville; retiring from Perkins Brothers in 1973. He was a member of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, William Thomas and Karin Hardaway of Houston, Charles Robert and Gayla Hardaway and John Howard and Marcie Hardaway, all of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 21, 1922; mother on May 28, 1928; wife, Sept. 4, 1997; and one grandson, Charles Robert Hardaway Jr. in 1984.
Pallbearers are Kriss Cross, Wesley Hobbs, David Hardaway, Jim Hardaway, Carlos Robles and Bobby Moore.
Visitation is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
George Wolfe
TERRELL - George Fredrick Wolfe, 69, of Terrell died Wednesday at his home. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Joe Ed Goolsby officiating.
Mr. Wolfe was born July 25, 1928, in Kittanning, Pa.; the son of George Grover and Sarah Campbell Wolfe. He graduated from Kittanning High School and was a World War II veteran; having served in the U.S. Army.
He was employed by the S.H. Lynch Company in Dallas from 1961 to 1967, then moved to Terrell where he founded the Wolfe Distributing Company. He was a member of the Mason Tannehill Lodge, Hella Shrine Temple; Texas Thoroughbred Association and the board of directors for American National Bank in Terrell.
Surviving are a daughter, Tracey Wolfe of Rockwall; son and daughter-in-law, Bart and Laura Wolfe of Terrell; sister, Vivian Durkac of Tarentum, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is tonight at Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Samuel Mercer II
LONGVIEW - Funeral services for Samuel Levi Mercer II, 88, of Longview are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Spring Hill Church of God with Rev. Bill Fenton and Rev. Richard Ridings officiating. Burial is at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hooker Ridge Cemetery near Lone Oak.
Mr. Mercer was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Lone Oak; the son of Samuel Levi and Georgie Pope Mercer. He was a resident of Longview for one year. He was retired from the State of Texas; having worked for the Dallas-Fort Worth Turnpike. He was a member of the Village Missionary Baptist Church in Irving and attended Spring Hill Church of God.
Surviving are sons, Samuel Levi Mercer III of Longview, Robert Mercer and George Greenway, both of Sulphur Springs, and Theo Mercer of Arlington; daughters, Aaronetta Martin of Greenville and Wanda Brice of Irving; brothers, J.B. Mercer of Grand Prairie and Billy Mercer of Lone Oak; sisters, Nadine Sanders of Grand Prairie, and Kathryn Murphy and Imogene Ensley, both of Lone Oak; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, John Mercer and George Mercer, and sisters, Bonnie Mercer and Nora Mercer.

Leta Morgan
WOLFE CITY - Leta Jane Morgan, 55, of Wolfe City died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Dwight Gardner officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
She was born June 10, 1942 in Hughes Springs to Elton and Janette Story Webb. She and Bill D. Morgan married on May 25, 1972. Mrs. Morgan was a cashier for El Sombrero in Commerce.
Survivors include her husband of Wolfe City; four sons, James Westmoreland of Athens, Michael Morgan and Bruce Morgan, both of Dallas and Tracy Morgan of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, JoAnn Hickman of Wolfe City and her mother, Janette Lee of Hugo, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Michael Morgan, Jerry Burns, Chris Burns, Bruce Morgan, Tracy Morgan and Lynn Brown.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pauline Clayton
Pauline Barrett Jones Clayton died Nov. 14 at Briarcliff Health Center after a long illness. There is a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Greenville.
Surviving are a sister, Leola Woodruff; nephew and niece, Don and Marjorie Woodruff of Gainesville; niece Doris Lay of Denver, Colo., nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews; stepson and wife, John and Margaret Clayton; stepdaughter, Bertha McCall of Dallas, stepgrandson and wife, Frank and Kathi Cushing of Austin; seven stepgrandchildren and best friend, August Temon of Greenville.
Memorials may be sent to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Andrew McDonald
Andrew Dillon McDonald, infant, of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Nichols. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
He was born Nov. 17, 1997 in Dallas to Drew McDonald and Leslie Watts McDonald. They are members of Wesley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his parents of Greenville; grandparents James and Chrysteen Watts of Greenville, Kathy McDonald of Greenville and John McDonald of Lake Charles, La.; great-grandparents Ladell D. Faulk of Santa Cruz, Calif., Amy Campbell of Tulsa, Okla. and Vivian Mabe of Sulphur Springs and aunts and uncles Virginia and Joe Rutherford of Greenville, Mike and Diane Weaks of Greenville, Kris and Janee Holt of Greenville and Aaron Blackwell of Greenville.
Mike Weaks and Kris Holt will serve as pallbearers.

Ethel Woosley
COMMERCE - Ethel Woosley, 87, of Commerce died Monday in Commerce. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Dittmar officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 9, 1910 in Ladonia to George Rollen and Mollie Willis. She and Robert Glen Woosley were married in Ladonia. She as a longtime resident of Commerce, moving from the Durham Community in 1958. She was a member of the College Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Woosley was a nurse's aide for Liberman Hospital of Commerce, Oak Manor Nursing Home and Medical and Surgical Clinic in Greenville until her retirement in 1982.
Survivors include two sisters, Drusella Rollen and Mary Maggilen Kizer, both of Commerce; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband; one son, Lee Odis McDowell in 1985; two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be until 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ruth Blair
LONE OAK - Ruth "Jeanette" Blair, 66, of Lone Oak died Friday at her home in Highland Acres after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Chapel at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth with Dr. James E. Bass officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Blair was born Jan. 25, 1931 in Fort Worth, the daughter of Charles Truman and Edna May Norris. She and Allen Blair were married June 25, 1948. A retired vocational nurse, Mrs. Blair was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Allen Blair of Lone Oak; a son, Daniel Allen Blair of Fort Worth; two daughters, Cynthia Anne Lindsey and husband Ronny Lindsey, and Tonnette Bea Bottoms, all of Arlington; two brothers, Bruce Norris of Keller, and Don Norris of North Richland Hills; six grandchildren, Candace Smith of Bedford of, Casey Lindsey, Tim Bottoms and Jamie Bottoms, all of Arlington, and Julie Blair Lambert and Danielle Blair Lambert, both of Fort Worth; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Bradley Bottoms of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William L. "Bill" Norris.
Pallbearers will be Tim Bottoms, Don Norris Jr., Rick Steen, George Gandy, Pat Smith, and Calvin Smith.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth who is in charge of arrangements.
E. A. Bowen Jr.
E. A. Bowen Jr. of Greenville died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Bowen was born Dec. 18, 1914 in the Center Point Community in Hunt County, the son of Elijah Archie Bowen Sr. and Nanie Finger Bowen. He married Anne Garber on Aug. 23, 1969 in Greenville.
He was a graduate of East Texas Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science with a major in business and also earned a Masters degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University.
Mr. Bowen was a member of the Greenville National Guard which was mobilized in 1944. He retired as a Captain in the U. S. Army. During his military service he was wounded in the Herculean Forest in Germany and received the Purple Heart for Bravery.
Mr. Bowen was retired controller from Henson's where he worked for 28 years. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include has wife, Anne Bowen of Greenville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jerry Stephens of Amarillo; a nephew, Ricky Norris of Houston; two nieces, Martha Mullins of Fort Worth and Kim Watts of Morganton, N. Car.; three great nephews and two great nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be today from 4-6 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
Elmer Dean Jr.
COOLIDGE, Tex. - Elmer Leamond Dean Jr., 66, of Coolidge died at his residence Friday. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Blair-Stubbs Chapel at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia with Rev. Mike Smith officiating and Rev. Tom Young, assisting. Burial will be in Coolidge Cemetery.
Mr. Dean was born Oct. 24, 1931 in Kaufman. He had lived in Coolidge for the last year; previously he was an 11-year resident of Lone Oak. Mr. Dean was a sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps in the Korean War and was a Baptist. He was self employed.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Dean of Coolidge; three daughters, Shelley Bain and Robbi Lemons, both of Lone Oak, and Sherry Dean of Rowlett; six grandchildren, Steven, Susan and Stacey Bain, Brittany Lemons, and Michael and Christian Northcutt; three brothers, Don Dean of Albuquerque, NM, Harold Dean of Coolidge, and Jerry Dean of Greenville; and three sisters, Pat Newsom and Linda Hill of Coolidge, and Jan Hardy of Mexia.
Pallbearers will be Randy Dean, Barry Hardy, John Dean, Danny Webb, Jerry Morgan, and David Newsom.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Mercy.
