WOLFE CITY - Woodrow H. Doyle, 83, of Joshua died Tuesday at Emery J. Lilge Hospice House in Fort Worth. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Shriver of Grand Prairie officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Born Sept. 8, 1916 in Wolfe City, he was the son of Jessie and Mary Ann Cain Doyle. Mr. Doyle retired from East Texas State University where he worked as a custodian. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
Surviving are a daughter, Bettie Batis of Joshua; three sons, Dean Doyle of Ladonia, Billy Doyle of Joshua and Richard Doyle of Dallas and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Bill Batis Jr., Ricky Doyle, James Doyle, Jimmy Doyle, Dennis Doyle and Shawn Elmore.
Viola Soehnlein
COMMERCE - There is a mass for Viola E. Soehnlein, 82, of Commerce at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. D. Stanley Corcoran officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce.
The daughter of Frank Biever and Clara Hamkins Biever, she was born Aug. 18, 1917 in Port Washington, Wis. On June 14, 1941, she married Fred C. Soehnlein in Port Washington, Wisc.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce.
Surviving are her husband of Commerce; a daughter, Joan Soehnlein of Commerce; daughter-in-law Dianne Soehnlein of Houston; a sister, Sally Theilig of Milwaukee, Wis.; grandchildren Kelly Koepp of Alpine, Ana Garza of Houston, Karen Caps of The Woodlands, Amy Hicks of Houston and Andy Soehnlein of Houston and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Soehnlein.
Commerce Lion Club members will serve as pallbearers.

Willie Brown
WOLFE CITY - Willie Opal Brown, 88, of Wolfe City died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital of Dallas following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home with Dwight Gardner and Rev. Eldon Chester officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
The daughter of Thomas L. and Maude Nelson Maples, she was born Jan. 4, 1912 in Wolfe City. On March 23, 1929 she married William Halstead Brown in Wolfe City. She was a housewife and a member of First United Methodist Church of Wolfe City.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ronald Woodruff of Wolfe City; a brother, Wayne Maples of Commerce; a sister, Helen Hardcastle of Oklahoma City, Okla. a grandson, Shawn and wife Helen of Emory; three great-grandchildren and friends Marc and Linda Wensel and Lauren, Charles Michael and John Robert.
Pallbearers are Marc Wensel, Tom Wensel, Tommy Ray Caldwell, Frank Caldwell, Paul Caldwell, Larry Wise and Bradley Parsons.

Ruth Goodwin
Ruth Williams Goodwin of Greenville died Tuesday morning at Greenville Health & Rehabilitation. There is a graveside service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas with Dr. Jeff Smith officiating.
Born Aug. 8, 1905 in Ellis County, she was the daughter of Wiley Flake Williams and Dorthula Loretta Floyd Williams. She and Herman Lowell Goodwin were married in Ellis County on Dec. 23, 1924. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Goodwin is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Goodwin of Lindale and Marvin Goodwin of Royse City; two daughters, Robbie Nelle Cook of Ennis and Helen Fletcher of Greenville; a brother, Harcey Williams of Meridian; a sister, Lois Browning of Afton, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1998; brothers Charlie Franklin Williams in 1971, Earl Flake Williams in 1981 and Robert Benson Williams; sisters Hazel Wooldridge in 1972 and Addie Burkett in 1927 and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Raymond Graves
Funeral services for Raymond Earl Graves, 79, of Greenville will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Henslee officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Graves died Tuesday at Briarcliff Health Center.
Born July 20, 1920 in Hunt County, he was the son of John Graves and Hattie Florence Gillenwater Graves. He married Violet Carter in Greenville on Oct. 14, 1955.
Mr. Graves served in the South Pacific during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He retired from E-Systems and the City of Greenville. He was a Methodist and a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge 335.
Surviving are sisters-in-law Bettie Patterson and Irene Carter of Greenville and nieces Charlotte Nalls and Sherrye Pruitt of Greenville, Fonda Lynn Peters of Plano, Wanda Davis and Donna Cummings of Mesquite, Monte Simmons of Ennis and Cathy Smith of Edmund, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 28, 1998, his parents and a sister, Johnnie F. Graves.
Pallbearers are Farrell Nalls, John Clark, Bill Harris, Jack Dutton, Dr. C.H. Spencer and Ted Peters. Marcus McKinney is an honorary pallbearer.

Lessie Havens
FORT WORTH - Lessie R. Havens, 81, of Fort Worth died Monday at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services are at noon today at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, Fort Worth. Burial is in Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas at 3:30 p.m.
She was born April 8, 1918 in Miller Grove and was a resident of Fort Worth for 40 years.
Mrs. Havens was a member of Haltom City Church of the Nazarene. She was a Sunday School teacher and was named Teacher of the Year in 1954. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, Roger Dale Havens of Prairie Village, Kan.; two daughters, Gail Henry of Arlington and Beth Leverett of Fort Worth; three sisters, Josie Burks of Greenville, Bessie Hooten of Terrell and Rhonda Pettey of Melissa and six grandchildren.
Her husband, R.C. Havens, preceded her in death in 1989.
Mary Hester
ROCKWALL - Mary Margaret Hester, 80, of Rockwall died Monday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rockwall Chapel with Dr. Aubrey Patterson officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville.
She was born March 26, 1919 in Electra, daughter of William Warren and Emma Howerton Simmons. She and James R. "Bud" Hester were married March 16, 1946 in Hunt County. They co-owned Hester Insurance Agency in Greenville for many years.
Surviving are sons Larry J. Hester of Rockwall and Jimmy Hester of Garland; a daughter, Linda Gibbons of Garland; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963.

She died Tuesday at her residence.
The daughter of W.K. Lanford and Mary Willis Lanford, she was born May 28, 1939 in Bakersfield, Calif. She was a bookkeeper for Ramada Inn Motel and a member of St. William's Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Rollie Joy of Big Spring; daughter and son-in-law Jaki and Sheldon Cast of Cumby; brothers Tony Lanford of Marble Falls, Tad Lanford of San Angelo and Jon Lanford of Maine; a sister, Darby Diehl of Irving and five grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.

Born Sept. 16, 1944 in Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of Ray Cannon and Mary Louise King Cannon. She married Bruce Dewitt Huckabee on Oct. 2, 1981 in Garland. She was a housewife.
Surviving are her husband of Quinlan; her mother of Sulphur Springs; a son, Daniel Huckabee of Canada; two daughters, Beverly Gonzales of Mesquite and Deanna Huckabee of Canada; brothers Jimmy Cannon and James Cannon, both of Sulphur Springs; sisters Rae Jean Spuell of Winnsboro and Mary Alice Osbourne of Louisiana and grandchildren Belinda, April and Antonio Gonzales of Quinlan and Alysia Bailey Huckabee of Canada.

Dorene C. Kenney, 88, of San Antonio died Sunday at her residence. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville with Rev. Chief Warden officiating.
She was born Jan. 2, 1912 in Wagner, daughter of Austin A. Collins and Cordelia Reagan Collins. On Feb. 28, 1956 she married Charles T. Kenney in San Antonio.
Mrs. Kenney worked in ladies ready to wear. She was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio and Texas Chapter No. 35, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband of San Antonio; two sons, Gene Dixon of Seguin and Harold "Buddy" Dixon of Aiken, S.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The son of Mart and Margaret Jeffcoat Matheny, he was born Dec. 3, 1915 in Snow Hill. On April 5, 1963 he married Ellyn Jones in Alvin. Mr. Matheny worked with heavy equipment.
He is survived by a son, Charles Matheny of Alvin; sisters Gladys Thompson of Farmersville, Willie Farmer of Wichita Falls, Lillie Osborn and Dorothy Foster of McKinney and Janice Humphrey of Garland; a brother, Herschel Davenport of Corsicana; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. - Vergil McCasland, 61, of Fountain Hills, Ariz. died Thursday in Scottsdale, Ariz. There was a graveside service Monday at Paradise Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale.
He was born Aug. 3, 1938 in Caddo Mills. Mr. McCasland was a residential/industrial builder.
He is survived by his wife, Janet McCasland of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; his mother, Sylvia McCasland of Greenville; two sons Craig McCasland and Kle McCasland, both of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; daughters Mandi McCasland of Austin, Gina Hasty of Fountain Hills, Ariz. and Karen Manen of Guatemala; a sister, Patricia Knight of Greenville; a brother, Lenis McCasland of Nevada and six grandchildren.
His father, Homer McCasland, preceded him in death.

WOLFE CITY - Ollie Irene Owens, 82, of Gun Barrel City died Monday at East Texas Medical Center in Athens. Funeral services are at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday with Ken Mattox officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
The daughter of Elijah Jasper and Mattie Victoria Wofford Blackwell, she was born Sept. 14, 1917 in Telephone, Fannin County. She married Elyah Pendergrass Owens on May 13, 1933 in Durant, Okla.
Mrs. Owens was a housewife and a member of Sunset Baptist Church in Dallas.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Maples of Mabank and Gwen Denton of Leheigh, Okla.; a son, Hollis Owens of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1987.

Mrs. Cheatham is survived by a daughter, Darlene Bonneau of The Colony; a son, Eddie Lynn Cheatham of Arlington; two sisters, Opal Lee and Oletha Clevenger, both of Lawton, Okla.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The daughter of Virgil Benjamin and Lula Gregg Avery, she was born Feb. 3, 1921 in Athens. She married Albert Lee Mills on Oct. 31, 1941.
Mrs. Mills moved to Winnsboro from Port Neches in 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro.
Surviving are a son, Leslie L. Mills of Greenville; brother D.W. Avery of Dallas; two sisters, Katie Mae Campbell of Big Lake and Imogene Ezernek of Arlington; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
Her husband preceded her in death on May 2, 1995.

Mrs. Pattillo died Friday at Medical Center in Dallas.
She was born Oct. 20, 1944 in Dallas to John Childress Vaughan and Ella Louise Vaughan. She was a box maker and a Baptist.
She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Pattillo and Dana Smith, both of Farmersville; two sisers, Peggy Inman of Garland and Judy Coker of Dallas and two grandchildren.

The daughter of Harold and Irene Smith McGee, she was born Oct. 20, 1929 in Dallas. She owned a convenience store.
