WOLFE CITY " Vivian Beatrice Ebert, 72, of Wolfe City died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville following a long illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dixon Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
She was born May 12, 1928 in Hunt County to Toy and Essie Vivian Rush Samples. She retired from Henington Publishing Company. Mrs. Ebert was a member of Calvery Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
Survivors include a son, James Ray Ebert of Wolfe City; two sisters, Wanda Whitlock of Dallas and Linda Johnson of Greenville; two brothers, James Samples and Charlie Samples, both of Wolfe City; two grandsons, Bryan Ebert and Jason Ebert, both of Wolfe City; three granddaughters, Shelby Malone of Wolfe City, Angie Martin of Greenville and Kimberly Pieras of Celeste and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Myra Hall
Myra G. Hall, 100, of Greenville died at her residence Thursday morning. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Merit Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Fisher and Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Burial will be in Merit Cemetery.
Daughter of Eugene A. Graham and Parless Hannah Bond Graham, she was born Aug. 11, 1900 in Courtland, Ala. On June 20, 1919 she was married to Virgle K. Hall in Hunt County. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hall was a member of Merit Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons Virgle K. Hall Jr. of Arlington and Don T. Hall of Garland; four daughters, Jessie Jean Stratton of Dallas, Pattie Sue Gafford and Hannah Mays of Greenville and Nancy Porter of Poetry; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 3, 1979; a son, Herbert Hall; one grandson, Major Charles Stratton; one great-grandson, Bill Hall; nine brothers and one sister.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Odies Parker
COMMERCE " Odies Weldon Parker, 67, of Cumby, died Wednesday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial will be in Long Cemetery in Cumby.
Born April 2, 1933 in Hopkins County, he was the son of Marvin Weldon Parker and Dolly Lee Millsap Parker. On June 6, 1955 he married Catherine Marks in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Parker was a brick layer. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Surviving are his wife of Cumby; a son, Odies Allen Parker of Ben Wheeler; daughter Linda Eubanks of Ben Wheeler; two brothers, Bill Parker of Grand Prairie and Kenneth Parker of Oklahoma; two sisters, Mary Goforth of Grand Prairie, Louise Pierce of Corsicana; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Linda Sue Parker Keels, in 1972.
Audrey Curtis
Audrey D. Curtis, 74, of Greenville died Wednesday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Born in the community of Shady Grove, Hunt County, on Oct. 23, 1926, she was the daughter of W.D. Curtis and Donnie Reynolds Curtis.
She was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1980, and she was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
She is survived by cousins Anna McDonald of Nevada and Elnita Scott of Greenville.
Her parents and a sister, Marie Page, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers are John Nelson, James Stephens, Jack Lindenzweig, T.S. Lamb, C.W. Hawley and Vince Shaver.

George Hembree
QUINLAN " George Aubrey Hembree of Quinlan died in Dallas Tuesday. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Quinlan Funeral Home. Burial is in West Memorial Cemetery.
Son of George and Irene Allgoode Hembree, he was born Aug. 11, 1922 in Quinlan.
Mr. Hembree served in the U.S. Air Corps. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Essie Hembree; his mother; a son, David Hembree; daughter Twyla Kay Starr; a brother, William Hembree; sisters Cordelia Tapp, Edith Tapp and Maxine Williams; three grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Patsy Carolyn Hembree, preceded him in death.
Patsy Riedel
QUINLAN " Patsy Harrison Riedel of Point died Tuesday in Greenville. There is a service at 3 p.m. Friday at Quinlan Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 16, 1928 in Fort Worth, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Harrison. She was married to Albert Gredrick Riedel. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Riedel is survived by two sons, Allen Riedel and Scott Riedel; two daughters, Rebecca Daffron and Alison Riedel; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Estelle Schneider
WOLFE CITY " Estelle Turner Schneider, 92, of Greenville died Tuesday at Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Greenville with Dr. William Benner officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
The daughter of Robert Samuel and Lula Irene Comer Turner, she was born Dec. 15, 1908 in Shiloh, Miss. She was married to Wilmer E. Schneider on July 11, 1950 in Commerce.
Mrs. Schneider taught in public schools, retiring with 40 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville. She was a member of the Elevian Study Club of Fremont and the AAUW.
Surviving are four brothers, Dorsey Turner of Commerce, Elbert Turner of Greenville, Robert Turner of Terrell and James Turner of Seymour; a sister, Bettie Sue Myers of Commerce and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, one brother and a sister.
Pallbearers are Tommy Cargile, Stanley Turner, Steve Turner, Randy Turner, Paul Turner, Larry Myers, Jerry Turner and Charlie Baucom.

ROCKWALL " Ollie Speight, 86, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Duane Phy officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Born April 7, 1914 in Commerce, he was the son of James Preston and Arizona Jane Quinn Speight.
A 59-year resident of Dallas, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove and was a deacon of Beltline Baptist Church in Garland. He was a retired auto mechanic.
Mr. Speight is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Speight of Dallas; a son, Gene Speight of Dayton, Ohio; daughter Sharon Denton of Rockwall; a brother, Carl Speight of Commerce; two sisters, Mable Mixon of Garland and Odessa Quinn of Grand Prairie; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Hyles in 1979 and five brothers.

FARMERSVILLE " Mary Sue Kelley, 67, of Farmersville died Monday at her residence. There is a graveside service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Princeton with Rev. Phil Payne officiating.
She was born Aug. 13, 1933 in Fort Payne, Ala. to Claude and Nancy Lee Crane. She married Howard E. Kelley.
Mrs. Kelley was the owner of Buy, Sell and Trade. She was a member of Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Nila J. Cartmill of Farmersville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Verda Liston
COMMERCE " Verda Ruth Liston, 86, of Wolfe City died Tuesday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike House officiating. Burial is in Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie.
The daughter of Solon S. Carr and Martha Lefeuer Carr, she was born April 28, 1914 in Collin County. Mrs. Liston was a longtime resident of Commerce, moving from Farmersville.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Alvin Liston of Commerce; daughters Betty Brounley of Dunedin, Fla., Elaine Lisciandro of Palm Harbour, Fla. and Jimmie L. Shaw of Commerce; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Arthur "Bud" Liston; one daughter, Martha Ann Apple; one sister and seven brothers.
Pallbearers are David Blaylock, Rob Kernodle, Audie Apple, Brian Liston, Jason Liston and Alecia Shaw. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Fox, Jarrett Stephenson and Alan Apple.

COMMERCE " Ludine R. Smith, 85, of Garland, died Monday at Baylor Medical Center in Garland. A graveside service is set at 11 a.m. today at Mount Zion Cemetery in the Mount Zion Community.
The daughter of John Arthur Riggs and Dora Finney Riggs, she was born May 20, 1915 in Gilmer. On Aug. 31, 1946 she was married to Cecil "Cowboy" Smith.
Mrs. Smith was a beautician, working at the Nell Bishop Beauty Salon in Dallas for more than 25 years. She was a member of Westmoreland Baptist Church in Dallas.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two sisters, Vaudine R. French of Winnsboro and Aline R. Thompson of Hawkins; six nieces and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 25, 1973 and a brother, Raymond Riggs.

EMORY " Gerlinde Taber, 62, of Lone Oak died Tuesday at Green Acres Nursing Home. A memorial service is at a later date.
The daughter of Stefan Doering and Gudrun Funk Doering, she was born in Wurzburg, Germany. She was married to Carl Taber in 1983.
Mrs. Taber was a Protestant.
Surviving are her husband of Lone Oak; her father of Wurzburg, Germany; a brother, Jurgen Doering of Heilbronn, Germany and a sister, Heidrun Howak of Heilbronn, Germany.

Glen Tapp
Glen Tapp died Tuesday morning. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Combs officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park. There will be a fellowship following the service at First Baptist Church in Cash.
Born July 15, 1910 in the community of Van Sickle, Hunt County, he was one of 10 brothers and sisters of E.M. and Mollie Tapp. On Christmas Day 1938, he married Elva Satterwhite.
Mr. Tapp served in the U.S. Army and then moved to Farmersville in 1946 where he worked for Gus Hooks Chevrolet Co. until 1957. He moved to Texas City-LaMarque and worked for Brown & Root of Houston until he retired in 1976. He then moved to Cash.
Surviving are his wife of Cash; son and daughter-in-law Billy Glen and Charlene Tapp of Canyon Lake; brother and sister-in-law Hollis and Lois Tapp of Greenville and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Roger Garlington
CADDO MILLS " Roger Dale Garlington, 40, of Greenville died Sunday at his residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Caddo Mills Church of Christ with Ray Hunter of the Church of Christ and Rev. Dwight Hunt of Dixon Baptist Church officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
The son of Harry Garlington and Jo Nell Burkett Garlington, he was born July 19, 1960 in Greenville. On Dec. 23, 1989, he married Anna Wade in Royse City.
Mr. Garlington was an aircraft technician for Raytheon. He was a member of Dixon Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; his parents of Caddo Mills; daughters Shea and Miranda Garlington of Greenville and three brothers, Rickey Garlington of Dallas, Ronney Garlington of Tyler and Rudey Garlington of Flower Mound.
Pallbearers are Jerry Hamilton, James Wade, Mark Wade, Jack Wade, Matt McMann and Tim Webb.

Walter Gayle
DURANT, Okla. " Walter Charles "Charlie" Gayle, 60, died Friday at Texoma Manor Living Center in Kingston, Okla. following a long battle with Huntington's Disease. Memorial services are at Murray Funeral Home in Durant at 2 p.m. Saturday. There is a memorial service and inurnment on Feb. 19 at Restland Memorial Park, Wildwood Urn Garden, Greenville at Restland Road, in Dallas.
Born May 13, 1940 in Houston, he was the son of Leroy Franklin Gayle Sr. and Elnora Schuerer Gayle.
Following the death of his parents at an early age, he grew up in Buckner's Orphans Home in Dallas and attended school there, graduating as valedictorian of his Class of 1958. He was the quarterback for the football team his senior year.
Mr. Gayle received an engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He was captain of his diving team at the University.
Mr. Gayle was employed by Texas Instruments as a design engineer for more than 25 years. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law Kristy Lynn Gayle and Mark Joeckel of Arlington and Courtney Kathryn Gayle of New Orleans, La.; sons and daughter-in-law Charles Anthony "Chuck" Gayle of Marysville, Wash. and Scott William and Gena Gayle of Plano; brothers and sisters-in-law Lee and Pat Gayle of Greenville; and Jim and Margaret Gayle of Hurst; brothers-in-law Charles Kennedy of San Antonio and Jim Morelock of McDonald, Kansas; former wife Kathy Gayle of New Orleans, La.; special friend Stanley Abbott of Denton; grandchildren Hannah, Jordon and Christian Joeckel and Taylor Montgomery and many nephews, nieces and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Joyce Gayle Kennedy and Ruth Gayle Morelock.
