SHERWOOD, Ark. " Esther Grace Epstein, infant, died Wednesday. A service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood with burial to follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
She was born Wednesday to Pastor Lee and Ruth Epstein of North Little Rock, Ark.
Esther is survived by her parents, two brothers, grandparents and two maternal great-grandmothers.
A brother, Caleb, preceded her in death.

Dorothy Richards
COMMERCE " Dorothy Jane Richards, 80, of Arlington, formerly of Commerce, died Tuesday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Commerce with Dr. Mike House officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
Born Dec. 21, 1920 in Commerce, she was the daughter of Weaver Cleveland Drake and Leila Victoria Spearman Drake. On July 18, 1946 she was married to James E. Richards in Commerce.
Mrs. Richards was a former resident of Commerce. She received her bachelor and master degrees in math from East Texas State Teachers College and taught math and music at the Hockaday School in Dallas and the Los Angeles City schools. She taught math at East Texas State University and taught private piano lessons.
Mrs. Richards was a member of the Commerce Independent School Board from 1962 to 1974 and was president of the Arlington Fine Arts Council. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Commerce and was church organist beginning at the age of 14.
Mrs. Richards is survived by her husband of Arlington; sons and daughters-in-law, James Edward Richards Jr. of Florissant, Mo., Mark Alan and Sarah Richards of Burkley, Calif. and Donald Christopher and Patty Richards of San Francisco, Calif.; two brothers-in-law, Lester L. Richards of Camp Hill, Penn. and Robert L. Richards of Coronado, Calif.; sister-in-law Elizabeth McKee of Camp Hill, Penn.; a nephew, Dr. Glen Drake of Temple and seven grandchildren.
Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
Pallbearers are Gene Lockhart, James Deaton, Steve Humfeld, Charles McGough, John Binnion and Bill Oliver.

Garland Rozell
Garland Leon Rozell, 77, of Greenville died Wednesday morning at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Riley Hamilton and Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
The son of Clayton Rozell and Lurena Scott Rozell, he was born Oct. 28, 1923 in Hunt County. He married Faye Smith on Jan. 11, 1947 in Greenville.
Mr. Rozell was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was owner of Greenville Pastry Shop for 20 years and retired from ESCO as a purchasing agent. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Rozell is survived by his wife of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law Garland and Martha Rozell of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Marletta and Peter Page of Greenville; a brother, C.W. Rozell of Wolfe City; three sisters, Berniece Patterson of Huntsville, Dorothy Vice of Greenville and Frances Barnett of Wolfe City and one granddaughter, Della Page.
His parents preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are B.J. Hardin, Audrey Rozell, Curtis McCartney, Rusty Wilcox, Preston Moser, Herb Sandlin and Dwayne Craig.

A.L. Sloan
A.L. "Ussie" Sloan, 65 of Greenville died Jan. 25 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
He was born March 10, 1935 in Shreveport, La., son of James and Lessie Sloan. In 1985 he married Dottie Butler in Greenville.
Mr. Sloan was a laborer and he was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; his mother of Shreveport, La.; three sons, Otis Lee Sloan and Johnny Ray Sloan, both of Denver, Colo. and Timothy Paul Butler of Greenville; four daughters, Ruthie Jean Richman of Pomona, Calif., Sharon Butler and Tammy Williams of Greenville and Shelia Butler of Garland; five sisters, Helen Gordner, Maple Lee Sloan, Lessie B. Sloan, Ruthie Collins and Betty Perkins, all of Shreveport, La.; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, two brothers and four sons.
Pallbearers are Robert Earl Anderson, Preston Hawkins, Larry Dixon, Bobby Lee Davis, Eddie Stanton and Billy Neal.

Ess Uland
FARMERSVILLE " Ess Uland, 83, of Farmersville died Wednesday at North Central Medical Center in McKinney. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyal McGrew officiating. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
The son of Leonard and Florence Jones Uland, he was born Dec. 7, 1917 in DesArc, Ark. On Feb. 8, 1938 he married Jewel McGrew in DesArc.
Mr. Uland served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer and a grocer and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Farmersville.
Surviving are his wife of Farmersville; two daughters, Deanna Brazil and Linda Birkhead, both of Farmersville; son Frank Uland of Farmersville; two brothers, Lee T. Uland and John T. Uland, both of Farmersville; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Bessie Brooks
CADDO MILLS " Bessie Elizabeth Brooks, 86, of Quitman died Wednesday in Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville with Rev. Bill Benner officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
She was born April 14, 1914 in Waco to Greer Westbrook and Jennie Yates Westbrook. She was married to Joe Brooks on Sept. 12, 1931. Mrs. Brooks was a seamstress.
Surviving are sons Billy Brooks of Golden, Bobby Brooks of Alba, Tommy Brooks of Quitman, Jimmy Brooks of Merit, Charles Brooks of Little Elm, David Brooks of Kirbyville, Dennis Brooks of Plano and Jacky Brooks of Wills Point; daughters Peggy Dawson of Fate, Dorothy Paredes of Garland and Judy Judge of Rockwall; a brother, Douglas Dorman of Greenville; sisters Ruby Boyles of Josephine, Ruth Yeatts of Josephine and Bobby Pilcher of California; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandchildren and two brothers.
Grandsons are pallbearers.

Lois Daugherty
Lois Ida Daugherty, 82, of Greenville died Tuesday at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Nichols officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
The daughter of James Merritt and Lizzie Wilson Merritt, she was born April 26, 1918 in Tusca, Okla. On Aug. 2, 1946 she was married to Lofton C. Daugherty in Dallas.
Mrs. Daugherty retired from Raytheon in 1968. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the ARL Class.
Surviving are her husband of Greenville; a sister, Irene Morris of Tulia and sister-in-law Amy Merritt of Morton.
Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Pallbearers are Don Taylor, Boyd Woods, J.L. Boles, Hewitt Moseley, Bill Johnson and Jesse Lemons.

M.J. "Ham" Hamilton, 68, of Greenville died Tuesday afternoon at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Aldersgate Church with Rev. Ralph Anderson, Rev. Kirk Jones, Rev. Chuck Ballard, Rev. Donny Forson, John Prestridge, Rev. Mike Nichols and Rev. Tom Barnes officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Greenville to Walter Melva Hamilton and Joella Strader Hamilton. On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Nancy Kate Warren in Greenville.
Mr. Hamilton served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked 20 years for Temco and then was co-owner with his wife of Katering by Nancy Kate and Ham. He was a member of Aldersgate Church.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife of Greenville; his mother of Greenville; a son, Hew Hamilton of Greenville; two daughters, Cindy Barnett of Greenville and Kari Kate Singletery of Waco; grandchildren Joseph Barnett, Chance Hamilton, Zachary Hamilton and Lindsey Hamilton, all of Greenville and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and a grandson, Heath Hamilton Barnett.
Pallbearers are Glen Steed, Hugh Chaney, Larry Hollon, Bret Hollon, John Christian, Louis Flewhart, Jackie McPherson, Carlos Denton, Trey Bahm, Raiford Stainback and Dr. David Turbeville.

The son of Sanford G. Ivy and Robin Moss Ivy, he was born Dec. 3, 1976 in McKinney. Mr. Ivy was a truck driver. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his mother of Farmersville; his father of San Marcos; a brother, Shane Ivy of Farmersville and grandparents Ted and Joan Moss of Farmersville and Edith Ivy of Gun Barrell City.

Chester Reese
Chester B. Reese, 80, of Cash died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Henslee officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born Feb. 13, 1920 in McCaskell, Ark., he was the son of Prush and Madie Reese. On Jan. 4, 1944 he married Stella Hood in Hope, Ark.
Mr. Reese served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a sheet metal mechanic and retired from E-Systems. He was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
Mr. Reese is survived by his wife of Cash; a son, William Reese of Cash; daughter Barbara George of Boerne; a brother, Bryan Reese of Springfield, Ark.; a sister, Winnie Tollett of Nashville, Ark.; grandchildren Mike George of Comfort, Matt Reese of Wichita, Kan. and Becky Reese of Trinity; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Jackson Wheeler
LEONARD " A memorial service for Jackson Donald Wheeler, 82, of Leonard will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Campbell officiating. He died Jan. 27 at the North Central Medical Center in McKinney.
He was born Sept. 13, 1918 in Oshkosh, Wis., son of Harold Wheeler and Nellie Dougherty Wheeler. In 1956 he married Jeanne Jossart.
Mr. Wheeler was a Methodist and an electronics technician.
Surviving are two sons, Terry Wheeler of El Paso and Jay Dietrich of Hayward, Wis.; daughters Colleen Wheeler of Redondo Beach, Calif., Debbie Gauntt of Leonard, Bobbie Abdo of El Paso, Jackie Schweitzer of Harwood Heights, Ill. and Bonnie Dietrich of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Jayne Ann Bradley of Presque Isle, Wis. and 16 grandchildren.
His wife preceded him in death on April 16, 2000.

Elbert Johnson Cox, 80, of Greenville, died Monday night at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Baldridge, Rev. Larry Jordan and Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
The son of Bev and Jimmie Johnson Cox, he was born in Greenville on Nov. 21, 1920. He and Frances Wright were married Sept. 28, 1946 in Greenville.
Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a longtime employee of Henson Kickernick and retired from Southern Methodist University as a security officer.
He was presently employed at Henley Hardware and was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; sons and daughters-in-law Danny and Cindy Cox of Allen and Kyle and Louise Cox of Mesquite; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Frank Shrode of Greenville; a sister, Marie Kelly of Cleburne; grandchildren Marcy Hansen, Jeff Shrode, Carrie Shahan, Chevie Jones, Tommy Gammel, Amber Hubacek and Brandon Cox and great-grandchildren Austin and Alex Hansen, Jerrod Shrode, Travis Shahan and Jaydon Jones and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Jeff Shrode, Brandon Cox, Tommy Gammel, Billy McWhirter, Clifton Cates, Wayne Gilmore and Doyle Currin.

Tommie Gray
Tommie Dwaine Gray, 69, of Lone Oak died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. A memorial service is set at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
Born in Hunt County on Dec. 13, 1931, he was the son of Monroe Gray and Fannie Henshaw. He married Patricia Ethridge on Aug. 3, 1950 in DeQueen, Ark.
Mr. Gray worked as a carpenter in Hunt County for 35 years. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are sons Connie Gray and Scott Gray, both of Lone Oak; three daughters, Tommie Mitchell and Pattie Hooten of Greenville and Karen Wade of Clovis, N.M.; brother, Howard Gray of Commerce; sister, Jo Dickerson of Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Gray; two sisters, Juanita Ketner and Evelyn Dawson and two grandchildren.
Ann Newton
ROCKWALL " Ann Newton, 60, died Monday. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall.
She was born Jan. 10, 1941 in Sebring, Fla. to Sam and Anne Mae Williams. She lived in Garland for 30 years where she was state licensed in home childcare for 20 years, and she attended Monica Park Christian Church.
She moved to Commerce three years ago and was a therapeutic foster mother. She attended First Christian Church.
Mrs. Newton is survived by her husband, Deane Newton of Commerce; a son, Bob Newton of Garland; daughter Beverly Young of Sachse; three brothers, Sam Williams Jr., Morris Williams and Jimmy Williams, all of Florida and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Britney Cockrum
QUINLAN " Britney Cockrum, 16, of Quinlan died Sunday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Born in Dallas on Feb. 19,1984, she was the daughter of James Cockrum and Linda Anderton Cockrum. She was a student at Quinlan High School.
Surviving are her parents; a brother, James Cockrum; sister Andrea Cockrum and grandparents Joe Anderton, Marvin and Judy Bledsoe and Dorothy Cockrum.
Visitation is at 306 North Fifth Street in Quinlan today.
