Angel Berry of Dallas died Sunday in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Weatherall officiating. Burial is in Peniel Cemetery.
Angel was born Sunday in Dallas.
Surviving are her mother, Chava Berry of Dallas, brothers Robert and Marquris Berry of Dallas, sister Kerria Berry of Dallas and grandparents Steve and Juanita Douglas of Dallas and Clyde and Fuvelia Kelly of Dallas.
Charles Linch
Charles Robert Linch, 77, of Cash died Wednesday morning at his residence. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Martin Smith officiating. A graveside service is at 3 p.m. at Dawson Cemetery in Dawson.
The son of Frank S. Linch and Lena Perkins Linch, he was born Jan. 8, 1924 in Dawson. On March 22, 1969 he married Malvern Smith in Oklahoma.
Mr. Linch was an aircraft electrician for E-Systems (now Raytheon), retiring in 1986. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Linch is survived by his wife of Cash; three stepsons, Martin Smith of Bandera and Donnie Smith and Ronnie Smith, both of El Cajon, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Linda Fenner of Stephenville; brothers Dan Linch of Waco and Ronald Linch of Duncanville; a sister, Junell More of Dawson and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father in January 1978 and by his mother in December 2000.
Pallbearers are Bob Fulton, Cliff Shiers, T.J. Sikes, Carl Grose, Scott Fenner and Phillip Goodwin.

Maenon Scott
LONE OAK " Maenon E. Scott of Miller Grove, formerly of Lone Oak, died Tuesday in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at First Methodist Church of Lone Oak with Rev. Guy Mays officiating. Burial is in Hall Cemetery.
Born July 9, 1908 in Lone Oak, she was the daughter of Richard and Ida Pope Elliott. She graduated from Lone Oak High School. On April 11, 1934 she married Merrell Scott in Alba.
Mrs. Scott was a homemaker.
Surviving are a brother, Bob Elliott of Sulphur Springs and a sister, Grace White of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.

Melvin Howell
Melvin Gene Howell, 64, of Greenville died Monday evening at Medical City in Dallas. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Loren Everett officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born June 17, 1936 in Point, he was the son of Marvin Howell and Olevia Darden Howell. On May 18, 1967 he married Gayle Pardue in Greenville.
Mr. Howell was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army. He owned Wee Wisdom Day Care for 19 years, and he was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Jodi Howell of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law Jerri Lea and Steve Stidham of Wolfe City; a sister, Jo Ann McWilliams of Greenville; mother-in-law Berry James of Greenville; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and approximately 5000 children influenced through day care.
His parents preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Herb Adams, Doug Holly, Kent McCutchen, Johnny Stovall, Joe Warren and Roger Nicholson.

Estella Methvin
Estella Methvin, 81, of Greenville died Tuesday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. James Ralson officiating.
The daughter of Lee Roy Hollis and Minnie Lurline Gallaher, she was born Nov. 9, 1919 in West Point, Tenn. On April 11, 1942 she was married to Charlie R. Methvin in Columbia, S.C.
Mrs. Methvin retired as a school teacher in Mars Hill, Tenn. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Celeste.
Surviving are two sons, David Methvin of Greenville and Rodney Methvin of Waco; daughters Rose Mary Adams of Celeste, Janice Heilman of Rochester, Wash. and Jo Anne Robinson of Terrell; three brothers, Neil Jennings, Harold Jennings and Willie Jennings, all of North Carolina; two stepbrothers, Karon Jennings of Tennessee and Kenneth Jennings of North Carolina; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, her parents, one granddaughter and one sister.

Frank Pierce
SALTILLO " Frank L. Pierce, 85, of Saltillo died Tuesday at East Texas Medical Center. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Vernon with Rev. Woodrow Kirby and Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating. Burial is in Old Saltillo Cemetery.
The son of J.T. Jones and Edith McCleod, he was born Sept. 12, 1915 in Franklin County.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Briley Pierce of Saltillo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kaye and Don Cole of Lewisville and Judy and Rev. Bill Shaddox of Greenville; sons and daughters-in-law Jimmy and Shirley Pierce of Garland and Steve and Connie Pierce of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Cullis Jones, L.C. Jones and Robbie Jones, all of Mount Vernon and a sister, Janiece Elledge of Scroggins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters and a grandson.
Family members are pallbearers.

Raymond Almon
FRISCO " Raymond Gleen Almon of Frisco, formerly of Lone Oak, has died. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Cemetery in Lone Oak.
He was born near Lone Oak on March 8, 1916 to L.B. and Susie Almon and graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1934. On June 23, 1944, he married Mary Katherine "Katy" McIntire of Frisco.
Mr. Almon was a farmer before going to work for the Dallas Postal System as a Special Delivery messenger, riding a bicycle before the postal jeeps and cars arrived.
In 1960 the Citizens Traffic Commission honored Mr. Almon as "Driver of the Year. He was awarded "Expert Driver Award" in 1971 by the Dallas Postal System and he retired in 1972. He had driven 350,000 miles in special delivery without an accident.
Mr. Almon helped organize the first baseball Little League in Frisco and was a coach. He helped build and maintain the field and concession stands at the youth center and a field on Maple Street.
He is survived by his wife of Frisco and two sons, Ronnie Almon of Klondike and Freddie Almon of Grapevine.

Kennie Cawthorn
Mrs. Kennie D. Cawthorn of Celeste died Saturday at Honey Grove Nursing Home. A graveside service at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas is scheduled at 1 p.m. today.
She was born Dec. 4, 1908.
Mrs. Cawthorn had been employed as a hospital control clerk. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are sons David Cawthorn and Tom Cawthorn of Longview Ray Cawthorn of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Calvin Cawthorn, and one daughter preceded her in death.

Margie Miller
Margie Pauline Miller of Dallas died Friday at Baylor Hospital. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville with Rev. Tommy Miller Jr. officiating. Burial is in Sullivan Cemetery.
The daughter of William Hatchett and Evelyn Hatchett, she was born Sept. 14, 1921 in Oklahoma. In August 1938 she was married to Carl "Chevie" P. Miller in Rockwall.
Mrs. Miller had worked as a drug store sales clerk.
Surviving are her husband of Dallas; a daughter, Bobbie Turk of Dallas; son Tommy Lee Miller of Wyoming; two sisters, Leta Mae Rameriz of Sacramento, Calif. and Dorothy Slocumb of Jacksonville; grandchildren Debra, Robert, David, Tammy, Tommy Lee Jr., Timmy, Aubrey and Shelia and great-grandchildren Joseph, Alex, Sarah Marie, Robert D., Catherine, Aleah, Nicolas, Sarah and Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Juanita Graham; a brother, W. Theodore Hatchett; sisters Marie, Bessie and Maggie; granddaughter Tiffany Miller and great-grandson Nicolas Perez.
Mattie Mosley
Mattie Jane Mosley, 95, of Terrell, formerly of the Peniel Community and Dallas, died Sunday morning at Country View Manor in Terrell. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Avon Chandler officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
The daughter of James Phillip Powell and Nancy Katherine McBride Powell, she was born July 9, 1905 in Royse City. She was married to Fred Lee Mosley on June 15, 1924 in Hunt County.
Mrs. Mosley was a homemaker. She was a Methodist.
She is survived by two daughters, Velda Templeman of Terrell and Waldine Hardison of Arlington; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, three sisters and five brothers.
Pallbearers are Cole Hardison, Preston Hardison, Gerald "Bubba" Templeman, Randy Zajic, Christopher Zajic and James Nelson.
Anna Stephens
Anna Ellon Stephens, 87, of Greenville died Sunday at Greenville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. today at Memoryland Memorial Park with Chaplain Danny Davis officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Miss Stephens was born April 11, 1913, in Emory, daughter of Andrew Jackson and Bennie Mair Stephens.
She was a retired designer with Ann Murray and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are brothers, A.A. Stephens, J.D. Stephens and Raymond Stephens, all of Greenville, and Eddie Stephens of Farmington, N.M. and sisters, Adelle Luhn and Clifford Overby, both of Greenville, and Marcelle Hise of Prattville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Freddie Turk
Freddie David Turk of Dallas died Jan. 13 in Pine Hill Terrace Nursing Home in Jefferson. Funeral services were Jan. 16 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville with Rev. Jim Slocumb officiating. Burial was in Sullivan Cemetery.
The son of Aubrey Tarleton Turk and Edna Jarrett Turk, he was born May 12, 1943 in Dallas. On Sept. 29, 1967 he married Bobbie Miller in Dallas. Mr. Turk was an office manager for Refrigeration System.
Surviving are his wife of Dallas; sons Robert Hodge of Seagoville, David Turk of Colorado and Aubrey Turk of Dallas; two daughters, Deborah Hodge of Haltom City and Sheila Turk of Dallas; a brother, Kennan Turk of Plainview and grandchildren Joseph Perez, Alex Perez, Sarah Hodge, Robert D. Hodge, Catherine McClard, Aleah Turk and Christopher Shan Hodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Turk and one grandson, Nicolas Perez.
Ben Powell
Ben Powell, 92, of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C. William McNatt officiating.
Mr. Powell was born July 25, 1908, in Honey Grove; the son of G.F. and Annie Powell. He married Mary Ruth Sandlin in Honey Grove in May, 1937.
He was a SeaBee in World War II and an electrical inspector for the City of Greenville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion
Mr. Powell was the oldest living member of Grace Presbyterian Church at the time of his death. In 1991, he received an award for 55 years of membership in the International Brothers of Electrical Engineers.
Surviving are sisters-in-law, Romie Stewart and Billie Guest, both of Paris, Texas; and Vivian Herrick of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife.

Anna Stephens

Jerry Whitley
WOLFE CITY - Jerry Bob Whitley, 57, of Dallas, and formerly of Wolfe City and Greenville, died Saturday in Bedford. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Melvin Pearce officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Whitley was born Feb. 19, 1943, in Wolfe City; the son of A.J. and Josie Spradling Whitley.
He was a baler at a recycling plant and a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his mother of Bedford; sister-in-law, Sammie Lou Whitley of Bedford; nieces, Julia Humphries of Coppell and Amy Cohn of Minneapolis, Minn.; nephew, John Whitley of St. Louis, Mo.; aunts, Ophelia Lamb of Ladonia, Mattie Prather of Denison and Erna Deckard of Gaston, Ala.; and his dog, "Sidekick."

Nadelle Hooten
COMMERCE " Nadelle Alexander Ainsworth Hooten died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital in Commerce. Services are at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial will be in Klondike Cemetery in Klondike at the Ainsworth family site.
Daughter of Lee and Pearl Rainey Alexander, she was born July 31, 1912 in Pecan Gap, Yowell Community. She was married to R.A. "Teadon" Ainsworth on June 21, 1931 in Choctaw County, Okla.; he preceded her in death in 1970. On Nov. 26, 1973 she married Deb Hooten in Parker County and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Living most of her life in Delta County, Mrs. Alexander had been a resident at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce since 1994. She had worked in various occupations, including farmhand, seamstress, child care and factory work.
Survivors include daughter Patricia Ainsworth White of Garland, son and daughter-in-law Jim and Jan Ainsworth of Campbell, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Eddy Ainsworth in 1973 and Richard Lyndon Ainsworth in 1936 and 17 siblings.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law Jim White, James White, Johnny Young, Steve Schkade, Damon Ainsworth, Kevin Boles and Justin Nabors.
