Leola Arrington
Leola Arrington, 74, of Greenville died Thursday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Burial will be in Caney Cemetery.
Born in Franklin County on May 30, 1926, she was the daughter of Will Gore and Ida Cannon. On Oct. 22, 1941 she was married to Johnny J.M. Arrington in Franklin County. Mrs. Arrington was a seamstress at Lieter and Marlin in Commerce. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Arrington is survived by her husband of Greenville; two sons, Charles L. Arrington of Greenville and Joe Arrington of Alba; a brother, Duke Gore of Winnsboro; sisters Stella Martin of Klondike and Rose Cash of Dallas; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Brockway on Jan. 18, 1980; a brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Arrington, Donald Arrington, Bobby Arrington, Ashley Arrington, Paul Gore and Dewey Elmore.

Bruce Center
Bruce Barton Center, 49, of Wills Point died at his residence Friday morning. A private memorial service is scheduled at Lynch Alternative Funeral Service in Cash. Roger Ratliff will officiate.
He was born to Avis and Gary Center in Phoenix, Ariz. on Feb. 7, 1951. Mr. Center retired after working many years as a printer technician.
Survivors are his mother, Avis Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz. and a brother, Gary Center of Phoenix, Ariz.

Metta Eudy
FORNEY " Metta Eudy of Terrell died Friday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Forney with Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Daughter of Jasper Vastine and Lena Stokes Beauchamp, she was born March 7, 1910. She was married to Homer Daniel Eudy on July 16, 1928 in Roby. Mrs. Eudy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forney and the Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son, Carl Eudy of Forney; daughters Juanice Reed of Forney, Darlene Hardman of Forney and Marsha Morrison of Wolfe City; brothers Garvin and Frank Beauchamp; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years on Aug. 28, 1976; a son, Don Eudy on April 17, 1970; grandsons Tommy and Scott Eudy on April 17, 1970 and Biff Hunsaker.
Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse for the Blind, 4245 Office Parkway, Dallas, TX. 75204.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home.

Anna Pullen
LONE OAK " Anna Rosamond Pullen, infant, of Lone Oak died Friday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Assembly of God in Lone Oak with Sam Calk officiating. Burial will be in Miller Grove Cemetery.
Daughter of Marty and Suann File Pullen, she was born Dec. 25, 2000 in Greenville.
Survivors include her parents; twin brother Brandon Martin Pullen of Lone Oak; grandparents James and Diane Pullen of Sweet Briar, Calif., Herb and Janie File of Lone Oak and Brad and Cathy Malcom of Campbell; great-grandparents James and Betty Pullen of Dallas and Alex and Argaree Laham of Greenville.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home.

Betty Westfall
QUINLAN " Betty Mae Westfall of West Tawakoni died Thursday in Rowlett. Burial will be in Parkersburg, W.Va.
She was born on July 26, 1925 in Rosemont, W.Va. to Opha and Carrie Nestor Gobel. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Surviving are one son, Odie Westfall; a daughter, Susan Bouchard and three grandchildren.
Quinlan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jewell Cox
BRECKENRIDGE "Jewell Beene Cox, 95, longtime Breckenridge resident, died Wednesday at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at The First Baptist Church with Revs. Cecil Harper and Harry Grantz officiating. Burial is in Breckenridge Cemetery.
She was born July 8, 1905 in Collin County and graduated from Nevada High School.
She moved to Breckenridge in 1946 from Greenville and worked for the C.R. Anthony store as a cashier. After nine years with that store, she worked for Lester Clark until 1994.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church where she served as president of the Carrie Bates Sunday School class.
Surviving are a son, Glenn Cox of Dallas; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack H. Cox Sr., in 1990; four brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers are Tim Bundick, David Clark, Barrett Clark, Bruce Curry, Curt McClymond, Ron Holloway, Joe Dan Knox and John Connally. Honorary pallbearers are Hack Phillips, Dale Aldridge, O.H. Reaugh, Fred Dueser, Joe McClymond, Paul Prater and Leo Draper.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or The First Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Garrett
EMORY " Mary E. Garrett, 70, of Emory died Wednesday at East Texas Medical Center of Quitman. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Martin and Rev. Wess Franklin officiating.
Born July 16, 1930 in Muncie, Ind., she was the daughter of Corvin and Bessie Jaynes McIntire. She was married to Charles D. Garrett in Muncie on July 4, 1948.
Mrs. Garrett was a homemaker. She was a member of United Pentecostal.
She is survived by her husband of Emory; three daughters, Kay Ellis and Darlene Garrett, both of Emory and Lila Nelson of Houma, La.; brothers Ira, Paul and Phillip McIntire, all of Muncie, Ind.; sisters Claris Meeks, Louise Thornton and Ruth Garrett, all of Muncie, Ind.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Walter Swiney
Walter Franklin "Frank" Swiney, 86, of Jacobia died Thursday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hazelip and Rev. Robert Baldridge officiating. There is a Masonic graveside service at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
The son of F.J. Swiney and Martha Lou Smith, he was born April 27, 1914 in Fannin County. He married Eubie Fields on Feb. 20, 1934 in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. Swiney worked for Hunt County Precinct 4 for 22 years and then retired from the City of Greenville in 1981. He was a 49-year member of the Old Concord Baptist Church and had served as a deacon since 1977.
Mr. Swiney was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Commerce.
Surviving are his wife of Jacobia; son and daughter-in-law Royce and Sherry Swiney of Royse City; a daughter, Jo Nell Powell of Wolfe City; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Don Swiney; a brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers are Carl Massey, Steve Hazelip, Lonnie Beadles, Chris Fleming, Allen L. Martin and Bobby Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Fleming, Merl Stansill and Norman Ulmer.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the Old Concord Church in Jacobia.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lennie Moffitt
QUINLAN " Lennie Ester "Grannie" Moffitt of Terrell died Wednesday in Quinlan. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luedith Bates and Rev. Lenard Allgood officiating. Burial is in West Memorial Cemetery.
Born March 5, 1911 in Quinlan, she was the daughter of John and Buna Swindell Ellis.
Mrs. Moffitt was a seamstress. She was a member of the Assembly of God.
Surviving are two sons, Homer Moffitt and Joe Moffitt; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Pallbearers are Darren Evans, Daniel Brock, David Sampson, J.H. "Sam" Robinson, Donnie Brock and Rusty Newkirk.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frederick Buxton
LEONARD " Frederick William Buxton, 71, of Leonard died Jan. 1 at the Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. No services are planned. Mr. Buxton was cremated.
He was a retired tile setter.
Surviving are his wife, Kay Woods of Leonard and three daughters, Anita Davis and Diana Buxton of Albuquerque, N.M. and Sharon Wilson of Santa Fe, N.M.
Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joe Nelson
COMMERCE - Joe Nelson, 56, of Wolfe City died Saturday at University of Texas Health Center of Tyler. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jones-Walker Funeal Home Chapel with Arthur Teel officiating. Burial was in Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie.
He was born Nov. 9, 1944 in Sulphur Springs to Lena Redman Nelson and Alvie Nelson. He married Joyce Simpson on Jan. 2, 1963 in Brawley, Calif. Mr. Nelson was a truck driver.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years of Wolfe City; his mother, Lena Hamric of Campbell; three daughters, Amanda Cook of Longview, Rhonda Hobbs of Commerce and Wanda Wright of Wolfe City; a son, Jody D. Nelson of Campbell and four sisters, Della Elmore, Martha Busby and Margie Quisenberry, all of Campbell and Lucille Petry of Cumby.
He was preceded in death by his father and four brothers, Jessie, Billie, Johnnie and Gene Nelson.

Elvira Spencer
Elvira Spencer of Ladonia died Saturday at her home. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with pastor Roy Yates and Rev. Cedric Barksdale officiating. Burial is in Mount Zion Cemetery.
The daughter of Martin and Vallie Pruitt Gray, she was born July 8, 1928, in Ladonia. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Dwight Spencer, Jeffery Spencer and Jake Spencer, all of Ladonia; a daughter, Charlotte Spencer-Scott of Ladonia; five sisters, Vallie Cherry of Wolfe City, Marcallee Sims of Sherman, Dorothy Gray of Dallas, Christine Askew of Sulphur Springs and Reva Hollins of Dallas; a brother, Clemon Gray of Houston and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers.
Pallbearers are Willie Judkins, Billy O. Crosby, Perry Judkins, Johnny Crosby, Wayne Scott and Guy Pruitt.
Grundy Funeral Home of Greenville is in charge of arrangements.

Tommy Hinsley
QUINLAN - Tommy Lee Hinsley, 67, of Quinlan died Sunday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Tinsley officiating. Burial is in Lakeside Memorial Park.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Lois Hinsley, he was born Oct. 8, 1933 in Prosper. Mr. Hinsley served in the U.S. Army. He worked in sporting goods.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hinsley of Quinlan; two sons, Mike Hinsley and Robert Hinsley; a daughter, Lisa McKenna; sister Nita Mundia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today during business hours at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home.

Otha Langford
Otha F. Langford, 94, of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery with James Erwin officiating.
Born in Gooseneck Community on Jan. 6, 1907, he was the son of William Joseph Langford and Bertha Gamble Langford. He married Beatrice M. Welbourn on Dec. 7, 1933 in Lake Village, Ark.
Mr. Langford was a retired farmer and was a hospital custodian.
Surviving are two sons, Don Langford of Quinlan and G.W. Langford of Ben Franklin; two daughters, Theresa Haney of Greenville and Pat Tasa of Lake Jackson; grandchildren Joey Evans of Greenville, Johnnie Langford of Longview, Todd Langford of Garland, Darrin Langford of Quinlan, Toni Hix of Van Alstyne, Kerry Don Langford of Garland, Laura Tasa of Houston and Heather Tasa of Bryan; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nov. 27, 1999; one daughter; four brothers and one sister.
Sons and grandsons are pallbearers.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joe Nelson
